"Pssh.....we don’t have traitors in our ranks." Ringo muttered.

Junjie grunted and said, in a frustrated voice, "I am not a traitor. I made one bad choice....one!!!"

Mingzhe looked at his watch and he sent the two men that would spend all night arguing about this matter unimpressed looks. "Can we get back to the stolen national treasures and Long Bo’s potential treasonous ambitions? It is either he is making all this money to enrich himself or her is using it to assemble an arsenal of weapons and soldiers that will propel him to the throne."

Ringo drawled out in an unbothered voice, "There is always someone plotting treason. So many small groups of terrorists have been disbanded in the last ten years and yet for each one that we take down, two more rise in its place. This race for space has not made things better with the rich people worldwide looking to establish new leadership on our future second home."

"I have heard about that." Junjie muttered. "An organization called The Free Citizen Movement has been behind the small groups which appear to be acting independently. I read your reports uncle."

Ringo opened his mouth to say, ’I am not your uncle.’ But, professionalism ruled and he swallowed the denial down. "The internet had united people from different nations that want a home that is not under the rule of monarchies. If monarchies should continue, they suggest that at least, the crown should be rotated and passed around among a group of chosen families. Others suggest that the royals present a select group of princes and they can vote on which prince they want to lead them."

Junjie scoffed, "They don’t even see how that will make things worse. An example is Long Bo, he is kind and nice on the outside but dark and greedy on the inside. Someone like him can charm his way to the throne with ease.

If people are given the right to vote their next king the princes will have to campaign and solicit for votes. They will cajole the people with money and other bribes.

It is most likely that whoever wins will change their face as soon as they are crowned because they will not be able to fulfill half of the promises that they made to the people. We have already seen this scenario with mayors and members of local government.

The moment they take up office, they look for all corrupt means to make back the money they used in campaigns and do all sorts of dirty favors for the powerful people who funded those campaigns."

What annoyed Junjie the most was that the people would turn around and blame the government and royal family for the corruption and suffering brought by the very people they voted...those whose bribes and lies they accepted.

A bad mayor only ruined a city, a bad emperor ruined an entire nation. When would they learn this?

Ringo stretched his hands. "The Free Citizen Movement is not very active in our empire. We are lucky and it would be best if we kept it that way. We cannot depend on luck forever, we should declare it a terror group to prevent them from expanding here openly which they are planning to do. Just say yes and we will write the script to turn them from non violent to insane blood thirsty individuals looking to ruin the world." This was the kind of work that he engaged in.

Mingzhe sighed. It seemed the conversation would be a long one tonight. He would have to read Mingzhu the bedtime story he promised on another night. "Before discussing the FCM can we wrap up the conversation on Long Bo. Investigating a member of the royal family is done with permission of the emperor. Your majesty, do we have permission to look into Long Bo?"

Junjie nodded. "Yes, I want to know everything that he has been up to. Not just him but other members of the family as well, royal treasures are not stolen without someone in the royal family having a hand in it usually. Especially those that come from the royal treasury."

"Perhaps now is a good time for an audit of the treasury. It is considered to be as safe place and nobody ever thinks that someone could be brazen enough to steal the treasures or replace them with fakes. At this point, who knows what else has gone missing or been replaced?" Ringo commented through a yawn.

Junjie recalled the last time he had seen Chi Lian and he winced. That meeting had gone so well because of words he had carelessly uttered. "I do not think that she will say yes if I ask."

"You can always command her as the Emperor." Ringo chuckled.

Junjie put his lips together and twisted them. That was an even worse idea. She would join hands with his aunt Rize and they would kick his ass. Besides, he did not want to ruin whatever goodwill he had left with her as he was hoping that she would help him retrieve the lost royal relics.

It reminded him of something that he had forgotten. "Mmm, by the way, the fact that Long Bo’s bodyguard stole from the royal treasury amd sold the relics abroad, I want it to remain a secret. I do not want to be remembered as the Emperor that lost royal treasures."

In his father’s reign, Chi Lian had helped him find many lost treasures and it was a source of pride for him. People called him the destined emperor blessed by the heavens and others called him the treasure emperor. If those treasures were lost during his reign, Junjie could only imagine what names he would be called.

Mingzhe sighed. "You really should have become a DJ."

"It was singer." Ringo corrected.

"No, it was both." Junjie shared, correcting them both. "And I need another favor." He smiled at Mingzhe. "I need aunt Chi Lian to go on a treasure hunt to return what was sold. The Jade Phoenix seal is a national treasure that is supposed to be exhibited in a month. I have been stalling for years but I could not push it off anymore. If people learn that it is missing....." He broke off.

He could only imagine how brutal the press would be if it was found out that seal had long been gone.

"Don’t worry, we have someone that can make a good fake and save you the embarrassment." Ringo shared.

The royal family was not even aware that the precious bejeweled dragon egg in the vault was a fake. The real one was with his sister-in-law Chi Lian who was convinced that she could somehow make a real dragon hatch from the mysterious egg whose origins were unknown.
