Water Dragon Mors

Kathe’s tail wagged happily when she saw me.

“Oh, Locke. I’m back!”

“Hello. Welcome back, Kathe. You were very fast.”

“Yes. The talks did not take long, so I was able to return quickly.”

You could use the teleportation circle in my mansion to go to the water dragon settlement.

And Kathe could fly to the capital in a few minutes.

And so it would not take very long to travel there.

“I heard that we have a guest?”

I turned to look at the person sitting next to Kathe.

It was a young man with short hair. It was the same blue as Leea’s hair. He looked very kind.

And like Leea and Kathe, he had a big tail.

“Groof!”

Grulf’s tail wagged as he went over to the young man and started to sniff him.

The young man petted him gently and then got up to his feet.

Then Kathe stood up and said,

“This is the water dragon Mors.”

“I am Locke. It’s nice to meet you.”

“It is the greatest honor for me to be able to work with you, Mister Locke.”

Kathe saw how nervous Mors looked and she laughed.

“When I told them that you wanted to learn about barriers, Morris had an idea.”

“Hmm?”

Morris was the uncle of the Crown Princess, Leea.

He was also the Grand Chamberlain and a regent of sorts.

“He thought it would be bad for you to have to come to the water dragon settlement.”

“Ah… He really shouldn’t have worried about that. It’s me who is asking them.”

“That’s true, but not exactly what he meant.”

Kathe said incomprehensibly.

“What do you mean?”

“Even you would take some time to learn it all, right? And he thought it would be rude to the beastkin to have them wait.”

“I see.”

Princess Leea was expressing her gratitude and friendship towards the beastkin wolves.

So this was probably more for their benefit than mine.

They were very smart.

“And so it was decided that they would send the dragon amongst them who was the best with creating barriers.”

“Oh, and that would be Mister Mors here, I presume.”

“Exactly.”

Mors looked a little embarrassed when Kathe said he was ‘the best.’

Even though his cheeks were red, he stood up straight and said in a clear voice,

“Her Majesty exaggerates with regards to my abilities, but I shall do my very best.”

“Mister Mors. We are relying on you. We must both do our best.”

I said as I offered my right hand. Mors accepted it and we shook hands.

And then I asked him,

“As you can transform into a human, Mister Mors, you must be of the royal family?”

“I am the son of Morris. And I am a chamberlain.”

“I see. So you are Morris’s son.”

Grulf was running around Mors excitedly.

I thought about it. I had assumed that this was our first meeting.

However, seeing how playful Grulf was, we had probably met before.

It was just the first time I saw him as a human.

“Mister Mors. Have we met before?”

When I asked this, Mors smiled happily.

“Yes! Indeed, you have never seen me as a human, but we’ve met several times before.”

“I see. I feel incredibly rude now.”

Mors waved his hands vigorously.

“I beg you not to! It is nothing to worry about!”

“I’m very glad to hear you say that.”

“We look very different as humans. It cannot be helped that people do not notice who we are.’

Kathe picked up Grulf and said,

“Locke also didn’t recognize me the first time I visited him as a human.”

“Yes, that’s true, now that I think of it.”

Kathe and Mors were grinning.

Mors looked quite muscular as a human.

He had broad shoulders and a thick chest. He was built like Goran.

“Have we fought together as well?”

“Yes. I have seen your brilliance in battle up close, Mister Locke!”

Mors was particularly strong among the water dragons. And he was usually on the frontlines in battle.

And so we had often fought close to each other.

He also added that he was among the group of dragons that often followed us on walks.

“Oh, so that’s why Grulf is happy to see you.”

“Yes. we get along very well.”

Mors said with a laugh.
