Chapter 49 - The Capture division (1)
As Takeshi left Naya in a state of complete shock, a state that hurt her deeply though arguably for her own good, he remembered the discussion he had with the Sandaime Mizukage upon his return.
He had shared the fact that he had slain the two-tails and Yugito after repeating the feat of the Gold and Silver Brothers from Kumogakure and eating the flesh of the tailed beasts. However, tailed beasts could not be killed permanently. Even if the host died, the tailed-beast would reform from the slightest bit of chakra left, whether it was from a speck of chakra from a tailed beast bomb, or...in the case of a hidden village such as Kumogakure, sealed chakra taken from the two-tailed before it was sealed.
This was a basic means of preservation for each village, enabling them to keep the balance of power in the world.
However, Takeshi had done even worse than that. Not only he had killed an asset of Kumogakure that had built a relationship with the two-tailed beast, something that had taken nearly two decades of investment, he had also sealed the tailed beast in himself.
The Mizukage knew that Takeshi knew no fuinjutsu, an art that was rare in Kirigakure, much less for a second-class citizen like him who did not descend from a noble shinobi clan.
His relationship with Otuka, pragmatism and cold behaviour made him compatible with the capture division.
After receiving the ANBU uniform, Takeshi departed straight to the demon swordsmen corps headquarters.

Guards, trainees, veterans...All of the figures he crossed were at least jonin-level, with some veterans close to the elite jonin level.
However, Takeshi could only sigh with disappointment when facing the one who was going to become his boss.
[Seiryū Kisaragi - Lv. 80 Jonin]
Compared to his own master, Elder Otuka, Seiryu was a bit lacking. He was an elite jonin, for sure, but he was almost 8 levels below his original master. Of course, levels were not everything, and with one of the seven legendary swords in his hands, Seiryu was cemented as a very strong shinobi in the whole continent, stronger and much more famous than the average elite jonin.
However, Takeshi was a bit disappointed upon seeing him slack off, torturing some poor Konohagakure shinobi, his silouhette barely alive, blood splashed everywhere from the floor to the whole, layers of skin cut and put back together, eyes blank reflecting a soul-less inside...
The battlefield was gruesome, but this scene was on a whole other level.
Strength was everything in this world. From naive ideals pushed onto the world by the likes of Hashirama to the gruesome darkness hailed by the bloody mist, the strong decided the fate of the losers.
Takeshi did not react to the scene, and merely bowed in respect:
"Greetings, number sixteen. In the capture division, we call each other by our ranking. Since you are our sixteenth member, I will assume you are the weakest. We are anonymous, like all other black ANBU ops. Every once in a while, we are deployed on the battlefield, and capture high-profile targets, killing all witnesses. The goal, after that, is to take care of them. I don't care about your background, what you did before, or why Mizukage-sama recommended you. As long as you are strong enough and are not against killing, I will accept you and treat you well"
"Understood, Seiryu-sama", Takeshi said as he noted the information
"One-sama. That's how you will call me in the future. Ten", Seiryu continued, "Test him out"
"Yes, sir", a woman with black hair and a fox mask spoke. Without hesitation, she went to the training ground, followed closely by the other members of the Capture division. On her back, the number "十 (ten)" was written in kanji, resembling a christian cross.
Takeshi smirked.

[十 Ten - Lv. 60 Kirigakure Jonin]
"If I win, will I get her number?", Takeshi asked
A man with the number 3 laughed: "You'd better worry about your life rather than your ranking. The last time someone attempted to join the capture division, he was frozen alive by Ten. If I were you, I would not provoke her so badly, even if you were recommended by the Mizukage"
'What does the Yuki clan have against me?', Takeshi thought as he scratched the back of his head
However, he was not the same as before.
He had gone through a fondamental change on the battlefield.
