Zhao Pu invited Chen Xiang and his companions into his home, and then he asked with curiosity, "May I know what brings you to me, brother?"

After all, he was all alone at this point, with nothing to his name, completely unable to guess why Chen Xiang and the others were looking for him.

"I would like some of your fresh blood," Chen Xiang said softly.

As soon as his words fell, Zhao Pu sprang to his feet with a whoosh, a look of fear on his face as he looked at Chen Xiang and asked in a deep voice, "Who are you people? What exactly do you want from me?"

Zhao Pu immediately thought back to the books passed down within his family, which warned to be wary of those with ill intentions who sought to take the family's bloodline.

"Rest assured, we are not bad people, we are just looking for the First Emperor's Mausoleum," Chen Xiang revealed the truth. He had many ways to take Zhao Pu's blood without him realizing it, but his intuition told him the consequences would be unimaginable. Hence, he chose the most difficult path, which was to persuade Zhao Pu to volunteer.

"The First Emperor." Chen Xiang's words provoked Zhao Pu's memories. The family records indicated that they were descendants of the Ying surname, and had changed their surname to Zhao to avoid persecution. The First Emperor, Ying Zheng, was indeed their ancestor.

Some ancestors speculated that those who constantly sought to take the family's bloodline did so for the First Emperor.

"My blood can open the First Emperor's Mausoleum?" Zhao Pu asked in confusion. This was beyond his understanding; he didn't see how blood was related to opening the mausoleum.

"The First Emperor's Mausoleum does not exist in this world. Hence, it is only possible to locate it amidst the vastness of space by leveraging the karmic connection of a descendant's bloodline," Chen Xiang explained gently. Of course, what he didn't know was that this was due to the transcendence of All Saints, which had made the entire Three Realms' space unstable. Otherwise, those who sought the Zhao Pu family's bloodline would have successfully opened the mausoleum many years ago.

Zhao Pu listened quietly to Chen Xiang's explanation, yet a deep and inexpressible sadness welled up inside him. The source of his family's long-time tragic fate had been found, and it was nothing more than the trials of others; how ironic and laughable.

"You are not them!" Zhao Pu stated firmly, for if they were the same, their methods wouldn't have been so gentle, and they wouldn't have shared all this with him.

"I don't know who you speak of. I am here simply because I want to retrieve something from the mausoleum," Chen Xiang frowned slightly. He sensed that there were other mysteries surrounding Zhao Pu; it seemed that he was not the only one interested in his blood.

"Alright, I agree."

Chen Xiang was suddenly stunned. While he was still pondering on how to persuade Zhao Pu, he heard the latter's voice of agreement, which left him feeling as if he had punched cotton.

"You've agreed?" He was somewhat surprised.

"This seems to have become a curse for our family. Perhaps it is time to resolve it," Zhao Pu said with a heavy tone. He wanted to see what in the mausoleum those people tirelessly pursued.

Feeling the firmness in Zhao Pu's tone, Chen Xiang stopped doubting and nodded slightly as an agreement with Zhao Pu.

That night, when the moon shone brightly and the stars were sparse, the entire city had fallen into slumber. The streets were quiet and still, only the voice of the Night Watchman echoed through the darkness.

Chen Xiang and his group gathered in the courtyard, where an Array was shining with a red glow before them, made from Zhao Pu's blood. It was capable of opening a gateway to the First Emperor through the karmic connection of bloodline.

Zhao Pu, pale from the loss of blood, watched the luminous Array quietly, his face full of shock. He had seen how Chen Xiang drew the Array; it was like the work of an immortal. Only then did he realize that the First Emperor's Mausoleum was far more mysterious than he had imagined.

"Be ready, I'm activating the Formation now," Chenxiang said in a deep voice.

Mana surged through his entire body, and with a gentle point of his finger, the Array immediately shone with dazzling brilliance. Fortunately, an Array that concealed their actions had already been laid out around the house; otherwise, this commotion might have been visible to the entire city.

As the light intensified, a ghostly gate gradually appeared above the Array. Chenxiang, seeing it, revealed an elated expression on his face—this had to be the portal to the First Emperor's Mausoleum.

With a gentle push, a blinding white light burst forth, causing everyone's eyes to sting, making it impossible to see the scene ahead clearly.

"We're going in!" Chenxiang shouted, covering his eyes with his palm as he took the lead through the gate. The others followed closely behind, their figures vanishing in an instant. The ethereal gate disappeared just as quickly, and the Array in the courtyard also dimmed, gradually covered by dust and dirt.

Meanwhile, on an island beyond the borders of Kyushu, somebody had established a kingdom, known as the Land of the Rising Sun.

After many generations, it had already left behind the era of wilderness. In the Capital City of this nation, there stood a splendidly ornate palace, the exclusive residence of the Emperor.

The current Emperor was still a man in the prime of his life. He harbored a fiery ambition, hoping to make his nation even more powerful.

Right at this moment, he was seated on the ground, listening intently to his subordinates reporting on the affairs of the state. Suddenly, he felt an abnormal sensation in his body—as if his blood vessels began to writhe uncontrollably, making him look incredibly ferocious.

"Your Majesty, what's wrong with you?" The surrounding eunuchs hurriedly rushed over, supporting the Emperor and asking with concern.

"Quick, summon the Imperial Physician!" the Emperor said, clutching his chest. He felt his heartbeat racing abnormally fast, as if the blood in his body was leaping for joy.

Shortly after, an elderly doctor with a medicine chest hurried in and immediately spotted the Emperor, who was clutching his chest in discomfort. A delighted expression crossed the doctor's face.

He rushed forward and asked, "How do you feel?"

A nearby eunuch couldn't help but frown. He felt that the Imperial Physician's tone lacked any sense of hierarchy—it was almost as if he was addressing a junior, not the Emperor. Had it not been such a critical moment, he would have already had the man killed for his insolence.

The Emperor glanced at the old Imperial Physician, feeling that this man was very unfamiliar, as though he had never seen him before. However, with things having reached this point, he dared not delay any further. After all, his family had always been short-lived, and he did not wish to follow in the footsteps of his ancestors.

"I feel like the blood in my body is cheering, and my heart is beating so fast!" the Emperor reported truthfully.

"Haha, after waiting for so many years, it has finally come!" The Imperial Physician set down his medicine chest and, as if mad, threw his head back and laughed loudly.

"How presumptuous, daring to disrespect His Majesty!" A samurai standing by grew furiously indignant. The principle that subjects must die if their lord is insulted could not tolerate such disgrace.

Drawing the sword from his waist, he forcefully aimed a blow at the Imperial Physician's neck, vowing to execute the man who had dared to show disrespect to the Emperor.

A flash of cold light passed by, yet the expected scene of a head flying and blood splattering did not occur.
