Chapter 476: 476: The Descendants of Gods

[Quest Completed: “Family Sacrifice: Hazel”]

[You’ve won her heart with unmatched valor and resolve.]

[Reward: 800 free attribute points, 1,400 skill points, 8,000 gold.]

Orson clicked his tongue. For an Abyss-Tier quest, the reward was underwhelming.

But to him, this wasn’t about stats or gold. A yandere beauty’s affection? Who was he to refuse? He was just a man—no shame in that.

All that mattered was pulling Hazel out of the storm of imperial politics.

[You are being watched by a divine bloodline descendant.]

Still basking in his recent success, Orson suddenly froze. Goosebumps crawled up his arms.

Within the dispersing crowd, a woman stood shrouded in soft pink petals, her face hidden yet her smile unmistakably fixated on him.

“A god-blooded descendant?!”

A chill ran down Orson’s spine. In his archaeological research, similar statues had been discovered deep in hidden ruins. Ancient Infinite Dimensions script described them as beings who carried the blood of the gods.

Little was known about them. Some believed they’d followed the gods to another realm. Others claimed they still lingered, silently watching as Heaven Demons ravaged the mortal world.

“She… She’s the one from my dream,” Hazel whispered, eyes wide.

Orson’s heart pounded. “The woman from your dream?”

[Mortals cannot perceive the form of gods.]

Orson shivered. Just meeting her gaze was enough to send a wave of dread down his spine.

Above her head floated an endless black HP bar. Even the Dragon Kings couldn’t compare. This was clearly one of the world’s ultimate beings—on par with the Ancient Dragon Gods.

“Such beautiful, pure love. It’s intoxicating. Human, you surprise me.”

The woman chuckled softly, her voice sweet and feminine, but it struck Orson like a thunderclap.

[Grey Watcher: Vivilliane is scanning for targets…]

The system message dropped like ice water. Orson paled beneath his mask.

“Damn it. I’m logging out!” Laketon’s voice chimed in over comms. “They’ve found us!”

Orson’s thoughts raced. “So… the descendants of gods are the Grey Watchers?”

[Error correction in progress.]

Vivilliane’s lips curled as she pulled back her cloak. Her eyes shimmered with an unnatural pink hue. She turned to glance at Laketon, who had begun his logout.

Her gaze ignited a cascade of collapse—the very fabric of space around Laketon tore and disintegrated into void. Just as the distortion reached him, Laketon vanished.

Vivilliane tilted her head. “Odd. Why do you smell of Heaven Demons? A remnant from the last era, perhaps?”

“Orson! Everyone’s gone. What are you staring at?” Bradley slapped his shoulder.

“You guys seriously don’t see the woman watching me?” Orson asked slowly.

Blank smirked. “Relax. No one thinks you’re that handsome. World chat’s just full of insults about you.”

“You really don’t see her?”

Orson’s brows furrowed. Was she hiding herself from player view? Just like how NPCs couldn’t see Laketon?

“I see her. She’s… waving at you,” Hazel said gently.

The cold shot straight to Orson’s core. Did breaking the balance of the game really piss off the gods this much? Was this so-called goddess here to delete his account?

His mind spun. Should he strike first before she erased him?

She had divine blood—but she wasn’t truly a god.

And if she had an HP bar, that meant she could be killed.

But only he and Hazel could see her. If it came to a battle, he’d be completely alone.

Worse yet, he had no idea if dying in-game to a godspawn might carry real-world consequences. If Infinite Dimensions truly echoed reality, then the Grey Watchers could very well destroy his real body from inside the game.

[Vivilliane, Goddess of Love, feels favor toward you.]

[You’ve obtained the exclusive title: “Chosen of the Love Goddess.”]

[Title Bound To: Orgod / Hazel]

Effect 1: Gain divine ability – “Love Goddess’s Gaze.” While fighting alongside Hazel, you are under constant divine projection, doubling your critical rate and HP, and adding 50% true damage to basic attacks.

Effect 2: Charm +99. Appearance and charisma have been transformed. Dramatically increases the likelihood of triggering hidden quests during interactions with female NPCs.

Orson blinked. She wasn’t here to kill him?

This title… was absurdly powerful.

Effect 1 made him nearly invincible when paired with Hazel. Stacked with his Super God-grade Soul Seal, he was a walking war machine.

But Effect 2—maxing out charm—was terrifying.

In his past life, he’d heard of a player who spent two and a half years grinding charm to 60. Just 60! Their ugly, misshapen avatar had morphed into a stunning beauty. Female NPCs fawned over them. Hidden quest triggers skyrocketed.

Charm 99? Orson couldn’t even imagine it.

He’d become a literal chick magnet. Legendary quests would just fall into his lap.

“No thanks. I’m already at my peak. Any more charm would just be overkill.”

Orson smiled faintly. “I reject your blessing. Sorry.”

“WHAT?!”

Madman and Bradley almost fell over laughing.

“This guy is the king of delusional confidence!” Bradley wheezed.

Blank twitched. “Utterly insane. Beyond saving.”

“Nothing funny. Even I pale beside Orson,” Drunken Dream said, barely suppressing his grin.

Vivilliane tilted her head. “A fascinating trial-seeker. I’ll be watching you.”

With a final gesture, petals burst around her—and she was gone.

[My lord, your instincts are correct. They were the ones who destroyed the Three Dragon Gods.]

Crimson Lizard King’s voice rumbled in Orson’s mind.

Orson nodded grimly. “The godspawn are watching me now.”

That blessing—Orson knew—it was bait. A ploy.

The moment he accepted, her projection would have hovered over him forever. Every action monitored.

It was likely tied to the Ocular Demon’s real-world parasite effect. And maybe even the cheats granted to him.

[They’re not gods, my lord. They’re traitors.]

“Traitors?” Orson raised an eyebrow. Crimson Lizard King rarely spoke this much.

But as the dragon’s level and rank rose, he’d begun to recover the memories of his ancestor, Draconis. And he was growing more… articulate.

[They came from another world—like you. To survive, they prostrated themselves before the gods, sacrificing their souls. They escaped the apocalypse when the Heaven Demons descended.]

The dragon’s voice shook with fury.

[Our ancestors… they had a chance to win that final war. To end the chaos. But they were betrayed.]

Orson’s breath caught. That revelation was massive.

BlazeKing, during the Heaven Demon war, had led the Radiant Shuttle against the gods.

He failed.

And during that battle… some Trial Seekers switched sides, offering up their very souls to the divine.

Their bodies were reforged with divine blood. Granted immortality. Blessed with divine power.

No longer mortal. No longer gods.

They became the Guardians of Infinite Dimensions.

They became—the Grey Watchers.
