Chapter 1519: Smart counter

Countless droplets of water emerged around Rain, and then they froze immediately before being fired toward the solar flare projectiles. Their speed was impossible to see...

The solar flare projectiles lost a bit of power upon contact, but they still hit Rain mercilessly... Arel smiled while watching that. It was impossible that such a simple minimalist amount of water would actually stop the solar flares.

However, her smile disappeared as the water droplets began to decrease the power of the solar flares more and more, and eventually... they began to be pushed away.

"I feel the power of the void... he is using Hilo power to make the droplets reach the absolute zero temperature... but that shouldn’t be all..."

Arel felt the annoyance growing inside her... and soon, she doubled the number of fire giants attacking... Rain suddenly saw himself surrounded by massive walls of fire constantly approaching him, and then his technique began to lose again. Not for long, though. Rain compressed the data of his water and ice-related abilities, and then they lost half of their levels, but their effectiveness doubled.

The skill Frozen Throne leveled up.

The skill Frostbite leveled up.

The skill Frozen Field leveled up.

...

Slowly but surely, the Rain technique began to get stronger again, and for the first time in her life, Arel felt a headache... it was unacceptable that such an inferior creature could resist her attacks that much. She was using all of her best skills to weaken him and hurt him... how come such a being was able to fight her like that?

"Just die! Just die already!"

"After you and your friends," Rain said.

As the fiery giants surged forward with renewed vigor, Rain braced himself for the onslaught, steeling his resolve against the impending tide of destruction. But then, something unexpected happened. The giants abruptly halted their advance, their flaming forms freezing in place as if caught in a moment of indecision.

For a brief moment, there was silence amidst the chaos, a lull in the storm that left Rain momentarily bewildered. But then, without warning, the giants began to move once again.

It was a surreal sight, watching the giants approach like flaming meteors hurtling towards their target. But there was no mistaking their intent. This was no mere change in tactics; it was a suicide mission, a desperate bid to overwhelm Rain through sheer force of numbers.

And yet, as Rain watched the approaching horde, he knew that it wouldn’t matter if they died. These giants were nothing more than puppets, mere extensions of Arel’s will. Their deaths would be inconsequential, mere blips in the grand scheme of things.

"Well, what now?" Rain thought.

Rain kept using his technique, but he had to use a lot more projectiles to destroy the fire giants... they began to get closer and closer and soon the first collided with him and exploded.

The attack made Rain flinch, and then all of his arms burned... the wound was healed in a matter of moments, but that wasn’t the real problem. Rain increased his mana output to defend himself, and for the first time in a while, his mana began to fall... his Absorption skills weren’t working enough.

"All right... bring it on!" Rain thought.

Rain was hit by an endless barrage of the fire giants that exploded, and then he disappeared amidst the explosions and fire. Hundreds of them hit him every second since Arel didn’t care about holding back at all...

Rain’s presence began to weaken, and Arel finally had a reason to smile. However, even that reason eventually disappeared and gave room to confusion... the explosions stopped expanding, and it looked like their effects were being quite contained... then all of a sudden, a massive sea of dark flames expanded from Rain’s position and engulfed thousands of the fire giants... they were destroyed instantly.

Before Arel could do anything, a dark lightning bolt began to move around and then pierced through the fire giants and made them explode... the dark lightning bolt turned and moved toward the fire giants like it was a magnet and somehow was able to destroy dozens of them with every passing moment.

"Stay clustered together and make the explosions wear him down."

The fire giants obeyed Arel’s orders and tried to stop him like that... before long, he lost speed, and then his dark shadow began to dissipate in his body. However, instead of surprise, Rain showed a relieved expression...

The fire giants flew at him again and bombarded him, but soon Arel noticed something off... the explosions were different than before... they were a bit further away from Rain’s position. They were losing power too...

"What is it this time?"

Arel was sick and tired of Rain... as an opponent, his tenacity and capacity to adapt and improvise were nothing but unnerving. In any case, she could see something forming above Rain... it was a large concentration of hydrogen.

Outside of a star, a large concentration of hydrogen would typically exist in the form of molecular hydrogen gas. In such a state, hydrogen molecules would be relatively sparse compared to the extreme densities found within a stellar body but still present in significant quantities, especially in interstellar space or within nebulae.

Hydrogen is the lightest element, and in its gaseous form, it remains relatively low in density compared to other elements and compounds. This low density allows hydrogen gas to disperse widely throughout space.

Hydrogen gas retains its reactivity even in interstellar space, albeit to a lesser extent than in the extreme conditions found within stars. It can still form compounds with other elements and molecules under the right conditions.

In the vast emptiness of interstellar space, hydrogen gas would typically exist at extremely cold temperatures, approaching absolute zero in some regions. These frigid temperatures contribute to the stability and persistence of molecular hydrogen in space.

After not so long, Rain appeared as the explosions began to take place further and further away from him...
