Chapter 1513: Breakthrough

Lvl 60: Energy Extraction - Extracts energy from unconventional sources such as magical nexuses, cosmic phenomena, or dimensional rifts, tapping into vast reservoirs of untapped potential. Higher levels increase extraction speed.

Lvl 65: Energy Redirection - Redirects energy flows to alter trajectories or paths, steering kinetic projectiles, redirecting electrical currents, or deflecting thermal radiation.

Lvl 70: Energy Convergence - Converges multiple energy sources into a single unified stream, combining their strengths and properties to create a synergistic energy surge of unparalleled power.

In the end, Arel’s curiosity got the better of her, and she let Rain burn on the red Star for a while longer. Still, soon enough, his body began to leave the surface of the red Star as Arel felt that presence.

"... I told you to dispose of him immediately."

"Can’t you see that I was in the process of doing that?"

"You could have tried harder by crushing his bones as well. His body and his bones have the essence of the aspects, so his essence can survive one type of attack like that, but you can smash him and get done with it."

With his power, Lonos reversed time and then made Rain return to his previous starting point. He could tell that something weird happened this time, since he actually had the memories of the last few moments.

"Since you are already here, we can combine our powers to break his spirit. If he survives that, then I will crush him without hesitation."

"You waste too much time playing with such low and simple beings. I will do this, but I won’t tolerate any more delays."

Lonos looked pretty impatient, considering that he was the machine god of time... still, Rain didn’t have time to think about that... all of a sudden, his body became many times heavier, and he couldn’t tell what was going on.

Rain’s instincts warned him that Lonos did something, but he couldn’t tell what it was... until Rain began to feel his mana being recovered extremely slowly, despite the fact that Energy Absorption and Energy Conversion were active.

As if that wasn’t enough, the heat around began to bother a lot more. He had become able to withstand the heat from that distance a long time ago, so he got confused. Still, his senses warned him about the danger... not like he could do much in that situation.

"What do you think? Lonos used his aspect to make your mind work much faster than your body. Your mind will experience every single sensation very slowly... you do understand what it is about to happen, right?"

Rain would have gulped if he had the chance to control his body... that kind of combined attack was really the worst. He was pretty sure that he heard of an attack like that a long time ago, but the circumstances were very different...

Arel began to move Rain to the Red Star, and then the heat that he began to feel Increased... the pain was already mind-numbing, but the fact that Rain couldn’t even move his body only made the whole thing more agonizing.

"Shit... fuck!" Rain thought. "Ignore the pain... this is a good chance of using my mind against them. My mind works while my body doesn’t, so I can use magic!"

There wasn’t much that Rain could do with magic since he wasn’t recovering that much... even though Energy Absorption and Energy Conversion were working at full power, it felt like something else was draining all of his mana...

Despite the searing agony that consumed him, Rain refused to let the pain overwhelm his senses. With each passing moment, it felt as though his very cells were being singed by the intense heat, a relentless torment that threatened to strip away his resolve.

Yet, through sheer force of will, Rain pushed past the pain, his mind razor-sharp and focused despite the inferno that raged around him. Ignoring the blistering heat that seared his skin and the agonizing sensation of his cells being slowly incinerated, he remained steadfast in his determination to persevere.

Rain summoned every ounce of resilience he possessed, using his head to outmaneuver his opponent even as the flames licked at his flesh. It was a brutal test of endurance, a harrowing trial that pushed him to the very limits of his tolerance.

With each passing moment, he grew more determined and more focused, his mind a beacon of clarity amidst the raging tempest of pain and heat. Thanks to that, his head began to work as he had planned...

All of a sudden, Rain’s body began to burn slower than before, even though he approached the red Star. At the same time, his body began to rejuvenate as if he had activated Limit Breaker... in the next moment, the fire began to fight against his technique, but soon, the heat lost even more power when Rain used Apex Fury.

Rain’s aura began to grow stronger for some reason, and Arel soon realized that... he had done something weird again, but she couldn’t tell what it was this time. She only realized what was going on when Rain used Magic Boost, and the skill kept leveling up faster and faster.

"Those techniques are getting stronger... didn’t they reach their limits?"

Arel knew that the paths system had two types of limits. The basic one was one hundred, and the true cap, which was one thousand... reaching level one hundred was already quite the achievement. Reaching the true max level was something that only Rain and the Dragon god pulled off until now... However, it looked like Rain broke even that limit too... all thanks to the opportunity granted by Lonos and Arel and their desire to break his spirit.

As Rain’s mind raced with unprecedented speed, each thought and sensation amplified by the relentless assault of Arel’s techniques, a sudden realization dawned upon him. In the crucible of his agony, he saw with newfound clarity the inner workings of the path system and the potential it held.
