Suddenly remembering something, Adam said, "Aren’t you going to ask about where I’ve been or why I only appeared just now? Also, how come you haven’t ascended yet? I’m an exception because of my special position, but your power level should’ve warranted immediate Ascension."

To answer his father’s first question, Cassius shrugged. "I met an old friend of yours, who pretty much gave me the gist of things."

"An old friend…?" Adam’s eyes narrowed into slits, faint images of an immortal-like man flashing through his subconscious.

"As for your second question: It’s complicated," Cassius added, having not heard his father’s mumblings.

"You’re a complicated one, huh?" Adam smirked. "You must take after me, haha!"

"Yeah, haha!"

"...." "...." "...."

What sort of family reunion was this!?

They were just two crazy people pretending that everything was completely normal!

"Anyway," Cassius began, looking at the location in space where the spatial crack used to be. "Are they going to come back?"

"Yes," Adam replied casually. "But not right now."

"When the larger and more widespread Ascendence Nexus Event commences, they’ll no longer be limited to the Transcendent Rank," he continued. "Limitlessly powerful God-like beings will descend from their side, and by then, even I won’t be able to do anything to prevent what’s about to happen."

Cassius’s expression turned complicated. "How long do we have?"

Holding up six fingers, Adam replied, "Six months, Yggdrasil time. Maybe nine to twelve if we’re lucky."

"And how do you know all this?"

Adam grinned. "What? You don’t trust your old man or something?"

Cassius stared expressionlessly.

Adam awkwardly scratched his neck. "There’s no need for the scary look… Okay, fine, I can tell you that I know more about the Dissonants than your average joe. Or well, I know that they come from far beyond the Ascension Tower’s sphere of influence; I also know that they want something being hoarded by those old fogies above."

"Old fogies?"

"Yeah, the Ancestors of the Seven Ascension Towers," replied Adam. "As well as those stuck-up bastards of Yggdrasil. Tsk, those codgers really piss me off!"

Recalling what the Ice Sovereign said about his father’s heated relationship with Yggdrasil, Cassius understood where he was coming from.

"Anyhoo," Adam’s personality flipped on its head, his smile now wide and inviting. "You’re planning to ascend the Floors of Humanity’s Ascension Tower, aren’t you?"

Cassius nodded.

"So then—"

Interrupting him, Cassius said, "The Humanity Tower, the HELL Tower, the Heavenly Kingdom’s Tower, as well as the other five. I plan to reach the summit of them all."

Adam’s expression froze.

Then he suddenly lit up like a lightbulb, patting Cassius on the shoulders. "Thata boy!" he praised. "Ought to aim for the impossible. And boy, did you do just that! Planning to achieve something that even I couldn’t; you really are my kid!"

Cassius stared at him with a confused look on his face. "What does that mean? Impossible? Has no one else ascended to the summit of all eight Tower Dimensions??"

Finding this notion unbelievably funny, Adam laughed his ass off. "Sure, a few have ascended to the summit of a Tower, but they ended up becoming Ancestors in ancient times, haha! Let alone all eight, no one has ascended a single Tower in the last tens of thousands of years!"

"What about you?" Cassius asked. "Have you not reached the summit of Humanity’s Tower?"

Adam paused. Then he turned his head down, his smirk appearing very punchable. "My dear boy, I’m an exception," he slowed his words dramatically. "After all, I’m something of an Ancestor myself."

"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"

Those who were eavesdropping, like Count Sayzer, shockingly widened their eyes.

The Floor Guardian of Humanity’s 0th Floor was not only Cassius Steele’s father—he was also an Ancestor of Humanity!?

How come he hadn’t known of this!?

A bit amused by the reactions of the spectators, Adam reeled back in laughter. "Don’t worry, I’m not an official Ancestor of Humanity, so you don’t need to change the way you act around me!" he clarified humbly. "I simply fought and defeated one of ’em and thus became a partial Ancestor!"

How was this any better!?

In fact, it was an even more insane thing to say!

Laughing even harder, Adam returned his focus to his son. "As long as I’m here, you won’t have to worry about much on your Ascension through the Tower."

Cassius’s lips started to decline into a frown when Adam continued:

"But knowing that you’re my kid and that you have that Abyss inside you, that isn’t what you want, is it?" He smirked. "You want me to stay out of your business and out of your way."

Cassius’s facial muscles eased up, giving his father all the confirmation he needed.

"Good! I didn’t raise no pussy, haha!"

You didn’t raise him at all!

Many wanted to shout that but decided to hold their tongues. Instead, they whispered among themselves, conversing about Cassius and Adam’s relationship and discussion. The only exceptions were Flora, Yimin, and of course…

"Darling~! Darling~~! D-Darling, uhn~!"

Bella Crestmore! The mentally deranged vampire chick!

Watching her Lady squirm in place while letting out soft moans, Gina shook her head. ’When will she learn that she’s being far too overbearing? Never…?’

Leon, meanwhile, gnashed his teeth. His eyes burned with fury as he vividly imagined thousands of different ways he could go about killing the hateful Cassius.

Perhaps in his sleep? Maybe out in the open? Definitely as viciously as possible!

"Master is talking to… who…?" Yimin tilted her head in confusion. "Yimins doesn’t need to fight anymore, does she??"

Viola, sensing her discontentment, said, "That’s Cass’s dad. One who has apparently not been a part of his life for years."

Yimin’s bewilderment should’ve lessened, but the opposite occurred. "Yimin… Should Yimin eat Master’s Dad!?"

Viola’s mouth stopped moving; she stared at the busty silver-haired dragon as if she were looking at a moron. "Don’t eat him."

"Okay!" Yimin beamed, though she quickly remembered her Master’s orders not to do anything anyone else told her to do. "How to know you’re not an Evil Rushan or Egyptian Vixen…!? Grrrr…!"

Viola didn’t understand the question but still replied, "I’m not those things…?"
