Battle 10—Shugo vs Redclar!
Alright. Many leaned forward even more.
Now they were in the top 10 battles!
"Hey... this Redclar, haven’t I heard this name before? Must be some insignificant person for me to forget."
"I know this Redclar. I was in his entry batch 3 years ago."
"What? This guy is taking the Bloodren 10 Phase one’s for the THIRD TIME?!"
"Not quite. From what I know, he’s been dealing with punishments for the last few years. This is actually his first time reaching this stage."
"What? He has such a high Pile-quality Shard and he spent 3 years in punishment before he could even get to Phase 1?"
Bhahahahahaha~
Several others laughed, their laughter both inviting and taunting.
"What a WASTE!"
"Exactly! I can understand when others are forced to take time off while in higher Bloodren levels. But for a mere Bloodren 10, you spend 3 flipping years just to get to this place?"
"Hah."
Many sneered in disgust and intrigue.
"This guy Shugo, don’t tell he’s an old Bloodren 10 too?"
"No, no, no. From what I’ve gathered, he’s new to our little world. That guy is fresh meat. I can bet my manhood on that."
"Oh? A newbie vs an overly experienced and old goose... Who will win this one in the end?"
Levon thinned his lips, a flicker of worry evident in his pupils.
’Buddy, all you need is a Draw to advance.’ He muttered inwardly, as if telepathically communicating with the bubbly Shugo who just stepped into the light below.
THEY’RE HERE!
~Pop.
Shugo was chewing on a peculiar purple bubble, blowing and popping like a child. His chubby physique and bubbly appearance made him look like a weakling as he strolled in without a care in the world.
In contrast, the one called Redclar looked quite chaotic and ominous. He was a teen with thin lips and naturally curled eyebrows that looked like they were drawn on by a toddler.
One would think it would be reasonable for brows to curl at their ends, but that’s where you’d be wrong—His curled and spiraled at the center between his eyes.
"Forget about winning against me, fatso." He provoked. "I need this more than you do."
Shugo blew his gum and giggled softly, his laughter dripping with bloodlust. "Jack and Jill, a tale as old as time, yet so delightfully twisted when viewed through the crimson lens of truth."
"They went up to fetch a pail of water–Or so the rhyme claims. But then, Jack fell, his fragile skull shattering like porcelain.... And Jill? Sweet innocent Jill? What about het?"
Shugo had taken out a crunch snack from his break pocket and began chewing on it. It looked like chips.
"They say she tumbled after. But tell me this... was it gravity that betrayed them? Or perhaps..."
Shugo grinned mischievously. "Jill herself, with her delicate hands drenched in treachery, gave Jack that fateful push. And after that, could she have staged her own descent to make it believable? Everyone thinks Jack fell due to naughtiness. But what if it’s all their wishful thinking?"
"_" Redclar was dumbfounded. "What does a bloody nursery rhyme have to do with anything I’ve just said?"
"Everything," Shugo reminded sinisterly. "Like you and probably many others, the most memorable character in that story is Jack, the older brother... You all think old equals better and noteworthy. But..."
Shugo paused. "Many times, the Old fall before the young. So don’t go thinking you are any BETTER THAN I because of a few measly years you spent doing NOTHING."
Pop!
Shugo blew and popped his bubblegum nonchalantly. He was eating chips and chewing on bubblegum at the same time.
"You—"
Shugo shrugged, unbothered by the angered Redclar. In his mind, it was too early for anyone to be warning anyone about anything.
Redclar’s eyes were maddening, waiting for the host to give the signal. And when he did, Redclar quickly summoned his Shard, a silver majestic Lance.
"Bastard! I’ll prove to you why the old must be respected!"
"Old? Seeing as you’re still taking a Bloodren 10 phase 1 competition, I take it you’re just a little older than I." Shugo scoffed. "So don’t call yourself an elder and take yourself too seriously while in here."
~Swish!
Shugo’s eating fork emerged.
Calling it a Trident would be an insult to those who actually have Trident shards. It was a FORK.
A giant fork similar to those people used for meals. It was the exact replica... only, the ends were razor-sharp, enough to cause fatal injuries and death.
"How pathetic! Do you truly believe that your fork can pierce through the brightness of my Lance?"
Redclar didn’t give any chance for Shugo to speak.
With a sudden burst of speed, he lunged forward, his spear slicing through the air and causing immense pressure at its tip.
~Pop.
Shugo chewed and popped his bubblegum, a smile still evident on his face. "I’m a talker myself, but buddy... even i know that you talk TOO MUCH."
The clash of metal was deafening and loud. The lance was buried between the fork’s fingers. The effect of the clash was so great that their hair and clothes began to flutter backwards.
Sling~
They were at it ruthlessly.
Redclar spun around, thrusting his lance again, but Shugo was relentless.
"EXPAND!"
Shugo expanded his fork and crushing Redclar down without haste.
"Do you think this will be enough to stop me?"
Redclar extended the pointy end of his Lance, shooting it out like a beam. This effect pushed the fork backwards, causing Shugo’s center of gravity to be momentarily destabilized.
"HAHAHAHAHA~... Good, Newbie, now you will feel my wrath!"
Redclar retracted the spear’s long head back to average size in a flash before sweeping it across Shugo’s neck.
And just when everyone thought a gruesome defeat was underway, Shugo fell on his butt, slid between Redclar’s legs and my God... punched him in the balls.
Is this.... Is this even allowed?
