Glandol swallowed his saliva hard. He understood. "You–.... What do you want?"
"Smart man." Henry mused. "I presume this is why you are the shepherd, leading your flock. As president, you can see through my meaning faster than your little dumdum’s over there."
Mid-talk, Henry snapped his fingers and Claudina swiped away all dishes to the ground except for Henry’s tea cup and saucer.
~Crash!
The porcelain pieces shattered upon impact, adding to the roaring bellows from the ghouls all around them.
Placing her black briefcase on the table, she pushed her glasses in and unzipped the briefcase, displaying a set of well positioned documents.
In the end, what did their Department do?—Maintain Diplomatic Relations.
"Sit." for the first time, they heard her voice, a laissez-faire voice laced with authority.
So what if you’re a president? So what if you’re top dogs in politics? She wasn’t asking, but telling them to do as she commanded.
The ministers and President Glandol, didn’t even know how they managed to crawl back into their seats.
Grahhhh~
"Sirs! We won’t be able to hold on for much longer!" The guards trying their best to hold everything together, couldn’t help rudely exclaiming, wanting them to finish up whatever it is they were on to pronto.
Dammit, just agree to whatever these wackos are saying, okay? In the end, some people even felt a little hateful towards Mr. President and ministers.
For centuries, the Church has indeed protected their nation. They didn’t how, but since their predecessors allowed it to be so, then just bloody hell go on with it
Look! They even told you the reason and you didn’t believe it. And now, their good buddies have died and turned into Ghouls too.
Why didn’t you just believe it to be true?
These guards had no tears but wanted to cry buckets. However, they seemed to forget that they didn’t believe it when the president and others chose to pull out from the church’s wings.
As top-tier leads and bodyguards who were always around Mr. President and these top politicians, they’ve heard and seen things... confidential things they had to carry to the grave.
Secrecy comes with the job. So of course they too thought that the country’s predecessors in power had been embezzling.
Some old veterans who were still in power, had warned against pulling out, even going as far as threatening Mr. President and several others to stop their reckless actions.
But at that time, Glandol and his newly appointed team only felt they were right. And the more many pushed against their movement, the more they felt the urge to abolish this nonsensical practice of paying the church for Protection.
~Hah!
In the end, facts have shown that they were WRONG!!!!!
....
"Ladies, Gentlemen." Henry continued. "As I’ve said, no one can make a Fool out of the CHURCH..." Henry began. "That said, we’ve prepared new contracts that differ slightly from the old ones you violated"
Well, new contracts require steady signing, no?
Everyone was now seated, whether they liked it or not. Their buttocks were all firmly in place, yet their bodies were shaking so much their seats began to dance.
Raw panic flooded their faces when seated so close to the ghouls trying to bite them.
Well, they wanted to cry. Why can’t they pull the table closer to the terrace’s railings?
Claudina slowly shared documents around the table.
Henry grinned. "Please, by all means .. take your time and go over them before signing."
As if on cue, one of the Ghoul’s had successfully shot its hand through the glass door.
Grahhhh!~
This was bad!
"SIRS!" The guards cursed loudly. "With all due respect, we don’t have time to look through it all."
"Yes, yes!" Many ministers urged Mr. President, as he was the one who had to first sign, before they as witnesses can do so.
Come on, Man! What the hell are you still wasting time for? Are you by chance blind? Or is it that you can’t see they have just a few more seconds to live?
Glandol gritted his teeth, knowing these bastards had probably cheated his country. This contract must have disadvantages for his nation.
But who made him Pull out from their protection?
One can probably go to court and argue that this contract was made under duress and threats, this was invalid. However... if he did so, then he’d really be foolish!
As Henry had stated, only the Church can handle Ghouls in this world.
All other nations... Every single country in this world is under the protection of the church.
In the end, he had no choice but to bottle this unwillingness, and take this as a lesson.
At the same time, he secretly made a mental note that in the future, no President after him must PULL out again, or the consequences might be even more Disastrous!
....
"Sign! Sign! Sign!"
With the dreadful predicaments, the urging of the guards and ministers, and his quick assessment, Glandol scrubbed on the contract with all his might.
Even Glandol couldn’t believe how fast he could scribble on all 12 pages.
Dammit!
Soon, the other ministers also scribbled down signatures with sonic speeds.
"It’s done! It’s done! we’ve agreed to all terms and conditions. Now SAVE US!"
"Smart ducks." Henry mused, as Claudina unhurriedly placed the signed document in the briefcase as though she had all the time in the world.
And just when she was zipping it up, the doors forced open and poured the ghouls.
No!
The guards rushed away behind Henry and the seated ministers, forgetting that it should be protecting the President and Ministers.in that flicker of a moment when staring at death’s widened mouth, they forgot their duties.
It’s over! It’s over!
Everyone’s face was ashen and ghostly pale. Their jaws grew slack, as though awaiting a scream.
Help! Help! They don’t want to die so soon!
The ghouls were relentless. Everything happened so fast they didn’t even have time to stand from their seats.
And just when these Ghouls were inches from reaching their group, Henry let out a sardonic smirk that could haunt even the dead.
~Swish!
It began to rain ashes.
Eh?
"_"
Everyone opened and closed their mouths, no sound escaping their lips. No one saw how she did it. But they knew it was her.
Claudina had a Chainsaw now handing on her shoulders, levitating on its own.
Magic! Magic! Magic!
Everyone’s eyes were transfixed in shock and disbelief, unable to look away even if they wanted to.
Wasn’t this world a world of science and logic? So who can tell them why they were looking at such a magical feat happening in their very practical and scientific world?
And what was that glow of power from the levitating chainsaw? More importantly, where did the chainsaw come from? Did she just pull out her ass or something?
With the ghouls here taken care of, Claudina slowly walked to the railings.
Then she stepped on her chainsaw and floated outwards, maintaining the same height level they were on, which was 3 stories high.
So COOL!
Their eyes twinkled with awe and relief. Well, this means they were really saved, right?
Henry chuckled, taking another whiff of tea as the ministers, guards and Glandol headed towards the railings to watch.
"Take a good hard look. Once you become a Ghoul... you’re essentially a zombie... a mindless low born Unholy creature that isn’t part of the living anymore." Henry advised sadistically. "And pray tell, what happens to zombies in movies?"
Floating above the entire estate on her chainsaw, Claudina twirled her finger. Then, out of nowhere, her chainsaw began to multiply... Multiplying and multiplying into what they felt to be 500 identical pieces.
With the flick of a finger, these chainsaws scattered about in all directions within the estate and even around its surroundings.
Grahhhh~
It all happened too fast.... And quite terribly too.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
All things, even corpses that haven’t turned yet, were destroyed.
Like lighting a match stick, Claudina struck her chainsaws to several sharp surfaces, causing sparks to burn the dead corpses that haven’t turned into Ghouls yet... So long as they haven’t completely turned, they were still human and would die simply from incrementation.
Everyone sucked in air, seeing at the cruel fate that lay ahead for those bitten.
Terrible...
Nervously, they moistened their dry lips, watching feeling a newfound level of fear for Claudina.
In other places around the estate, the few survivors noticed no more movements or screams.
What’s going on? They popped out of their hiding places, some even doing rock paper scissors to decide who goes out to take a look.
To start off, they first poked a few objects out to see if anything would bite or grab the objects. Then, they became more daring, poking their heads out... but only slightly.
However, what they saw was... dust? But where did this dust come from?
?????
