Chapter 134: A Thrilling Spectacle

Arc 2, Chapter 134 — A Thrilling Spectacle.

.

.

What will she do now? For the observers, they couldn’t possibly see any way out, given her current strength.

Many leaned forward in wonder. But only a handful had their eyes flicker in understanding and disbelief.

Is it what they think it is?

Winhest, who was watching from a cubicle, narrowed his gaze with a predatory light.

Then, Swish—All 6 clones kicked their feet so hard they left dents in the ground, the giant Pins in their hands creating swirls of waves that crackled the air the closer they approached.

This was it!

Many exclaimed in their hearts. No need to look further, the one called Rayna will lose. Their hearts believed it to be so when watching Rita’s attacks draw closer and closer.

But just then, barely milliseconds before all 6 attacks met their prey, Rayna’s eyes flew open with nascent electricity.

WHAT?

She teleported, appearing behind one of the shadows in a blur.

"Found you."

BAM!

Rayna moved in Godspeed, using her anchor to hook the true Rita. And before anyone could react, Rita was thrown out the Line.

"CALL!"

The Host exclaimed with a slight smile on his lips. Many only realize and develop this ability during their phase 2 examinations.

Yet, Rayna had gotten a glimpse into its ability this early on.

"Rayna WINS"

How come? Rita couldn’t understand it. How was Rayna able to tell which one was real and which one was fake? More importantly, what was that last attack just then?

’Interesting...’

Rita recalled the battle in her mind again. She felt a surge of energy from Rayna gathering, energy she felt powerful to hold back against, resulting in her getting thrown out.

In the end, Rayna had taken her by surprise, winning cleanly by default. Even after the announcement, many couldn’t believe they witnessed what they just did.

What a bizarre class.

Some have gotten a glimpse of Phantom cline techniques only a handful other people have ever mastered, while others are grasping techniques too soon for them to grasp at Phase 1.

Whether they liked it or not, they had to admit that these Bloodren 10s were proving to be more and more worthy of having a Coterie as their instructor.

In the crowd, Delweather, Cerine, and other Bloodren 9s had their blood clotted the instant they saw Rayna’s move.

"Tell me, Delweather... when did you properly master the first stage of the Origin Breathing Technique?"

Delweather bit the hay in his mouth thoughtfully. "Truthfully, I only learnt to harness a tiny fraction of its stage 1 ability within the Bloodren 10 Phase 2 competitions."

As of now, even at Bloodren 9, he has not been able to go past complete mastery of Stage 1. If he had to guess, he felt he was 80% over the hurdle, with 20% left to go. However, Rayna only got a glimpse, and she had already expressed a 30% completion of stage 1.

This was scary, no matter how you look at it. Now imagine how much she’ll grow when properly addressed on the matter before the Phase 2 competitions begin?

Cerine’s expression wasn’t different either.

Why? Why were these Bloodren 10s so different from them? Although she hated to admit it, she felt a little jealous and envious of their potential.

However, her jealousy soon vanished. Cerine understood that Envy was another to have... But jealousy, NO.

Jealousy has many meanings... meanings Cerine would never agree to. Being so poisoned with jealousy, meant you secretly take the other person as GOD. This indirectly means you think they are FAR better than you. And that, Cerine would never agree to.

Hmph!

It’s true that they have great and higher potentials, but don’t forget that both Rayna and Rita had far lesser Shard ranks and qualities to hers. So what’s the point of expressing any hint of jealousy here?

In the blink of an eye, her expression returned to normal.

Delweather, seeing this, chuckled softly. His Cerine was such a big Baby... His baby nonetheless.

"Farm Boy, what the hell are you looking at?"

"Nothing, Princess. I just thought you looked pretty good today."

"YOU—"

The other Bloodren 9s giggled, seemingly used to their bickering. They bickered like an old married couple.

That was it... the battle was over with a win from Rayna.

....

The arena was rowdy.

Levon and Artilla who had long been holding their breaths, now breathed out a sigh heavily.

"Brother Levon, she did it."

"Yeah."

Both had smiles, despite their soaking backs. Although they had utmost trust in Rayna’s abilities, Rita’s Phantom clone technique gave them quite a stir.

’Fortunately, she figured it out.’

Levon wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead, his grin growing bigger ad bigger.

As for Floriana, she said nothing.

In the end, Rita would still be advancing to the next Phase since she won the first battle 2 weeks prior. That’s it. No use crying over spilled milk.

On the stage, Rayna walked off, her shoulders raised more confident than earlier. It seems even she couldn’t believe she won against Rita’s Phantom technique.

Rita also rose to her feet, walking off the stage and replacing the toothpick in her mouth with another. Then, she twirled and swished the toothpick across her lips.

’What did she do at the end?’

Rita walked off deep in thought, assessing the match she just had. But as they say, the show must go on.

Up next was Battle 6.

Last time, Leo WON. So in this match, Yimu had a lot to prove.

Battle 6: Leo, With the Queen of Spades— vs— Yimu, who had the King Of Diamonds.

Both slowly walked out the dark tunnel, Yimu holding a bottle of green nail polish. It seemed she was changing a new nail coat to please her ever-changing aesthetics.

As for Leo, he was walking out with his game set, playing yet another new game supplied to him in his locker.

My, my, my... his actions brought about envy from many game freaks who truly missed gaming. But what could they do?

Perks are given to those who proved ’valuable’ and ’useful’ to the Order. Still, such perks granted to a Bloodren 10, was what made them chew their own lips.

This was Battle 6.

The last match before the final BREAK. You could also say that those fighting now, were those who have the greatest potential to one day fight among the top 5 BATTLES.

The host, while laying down, slowly watched the duo reach the center of the arena. Then, he raised his hand, deep smiles glistening in his eyes.

In all his lifetime of arena hosting... this period of hosting these unique Bloodren 10s, could be ranked in his top 10 enjoyable periods.

Tch.

When they told someone as him, someone so high up in the Hosting category to host a mere Bloodren 10 Phase 1 competition, he almost scoffed and chewed someone’s head raw.

But now, NO REGRETS.

Many in the crowd have never seen the host.

Well, in fact... they HAVE seen him host, but during that time, he usually wore his usual mask.

Who are those he hosts? Coteries, and other top ranking Bloodren leaders.

Hosting for a mere Bloodren 10 and wearing his mask, was indeed giving too much face to these Bloodren 10s. Nevertheless, he had to admit that he quite enjoyed the little show they put up for him.

Hah.

With the host’s hands raised, the battle finally commenced.

Yimu wasted no time, enlarging and duplicating her card, as did Leo.

Great! Many were excited.

"I heard of this but didn’t believe it. But who knew it turned out to be true?"

"Yeah. They are both awesome."

Many in the crowd acknowledged, watching the hands and axes in Yimu’s King of Diamond cards come to life.

Leo’s many duplicated Queen of hearts also countered, with golden scepters.

Once again, they experienced the clash of the Titans with these two.

The battle was more intense than the last time, with their fighting prowess and techniques improving to some degree.

Leo’s ability seemed sharpened by a small fraction, as did Yimu’s. This again went to show just how much training the two put in order to come out on top.

Honestly, the duo were equally matched. And if Leo didn’t surprise Yimu at the last minute during their previous battle, she wouldn’t have lost.

Sure enough, after the rigorous battle, the host slowly raised his hand in relish.

Good Fight!

It was even more impressive than the first time.

One does not need to create many flashy moves and new skills for a battle to be enjoyable.

The best fighters have mastered their present abilities to degrees, leaps and bounds, far surpassing their previous selves.

So although their techniques were more or less the same as last time, they were improved and fought, still making it seem like these techniques were newly made and never seen before.

Incredible, wasn’t it?
