Chapter 1327: Reinforcements

The Other Shore immediately went on high alert upon hearing the Dharma Lord's commands.

On that day, every powerful elite of the Other Shore Hall returned to the Other Shore Holy City. Meanwhile, countless ancient runes manifested on the city walls and the ground.

When they appeared, waves of terrifying power enveloped the entire city.

The Other Shore Hall's protective array was active once again!

The array was created by the First True Saint himself. Every rune was inscribed by his own hand and was infused with his power as a True Saint.

This terrifying array had only been activated twice. The first time was during the Stellar Catastrophe, when it protected the Other Shore from a barrage of falling stars, saving countless lives.

The second time was when the Great Daoist Brush Master attacked the Holy Hall. The array managed to stall him long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

This array had saved the Other Shore twice. Today, it was activated for a third time.

The elites of the Other Shore were stunned.

What kind of enemy could force them to make such a move?

When the array became active, the sinister evil intent that had been creeping on the Other Shore Holy City was forcibly pushed back.

Outside the city, however, the evil intent only grew stronger. In mere moments, the land beyond the walls transformed into a sea of blood. The Evil Dao's influence was spreading throughout the Other Shore.

The Dharma Lord and the Supreme Leaders made their way to the Holy Tomb.

The Holy Tomb was obviously the resting place of the Other Shore Hall's ancestors. Except for those who ascended to True Saints, even the strongest elites would eventually die.

Those unable to make a breakthrough to the True Saint Realm would eventually perish. Only True Saints could enjoy the luxury of an endless lifespan. Thus, many people dreamed of becoming a True Saint, as it meant not just absolute power but eternal life as well.

Unfortunately, becoming a True Saint was unimaginably difficult.

Most cultivators of the Other Shore Hall would ultimately be buried beneath the earth, and their souls would eventually return to the heavens.

The powerful experts of the Other Shore would eventually call the Holy Tomb their final resting place.

They were dead, but each cultivator would leave behind a fragment of their soul in the tomb. These fragments were meant for a single purpose—to rise in times of crisis and offer their final strength to the Holy Hall.

Just as the Dharma Lord and his entourage were about to enter the tomb, a phantom materialized before them, and they bowed respectfully before saying,

"Dharma Lord, she's not heading for the Holy City."

The Dharma Lord and the others were stunned.

"She's not coming here?"

"Correct."

The Dharma Lord's voice turned grave. "Where is she going, then?"

"I don't know. Her strength is overwhelming, so we dare not get too close. We can sense her aura, and her evil intent has yet to approach the Holy Hall..."

A long silence followed.

Moments later, the Dharma Lord and the others realized something, and their faces changed instantly.

Instead of heading over to the Other Shore Holy City, Fan Zhaodi headed north. More specifically, she made a beeline for the Barbarian Land.

The moment she arrived, the sky turned into a sea of blood, and an overwhelming wave of evil intent engulfed the land. The elites of the Barbarian Land looked up at the sky in fear.

Since their defeat in the Holy War, they had been living in the shadows, so Fan Zhaodi found herself standing before some ruins. The once-majestic structures were now nothing but shattered stone pillars and collapsed walls.

She was standing in front of the Barbarian Land's Ancient Ancestral Court. She surveyed the ruins before extending a finger and swiping at the ruins.

Boom!

The ruins were obliterated, reduced to nothingness.

Beneath the rubble, a massive golden array was revealed. Deep beneath the array, a hidden presence could be felt. Fan Zhaodi tapped the array with her finger. A crimson light surged forth, engulfing it.

Boom!

The array suddenly erupted with a blinding divine light, resisting Fan Zhaodi's energy. Fan Zhaodi made another casual sweep, and the dazzling light was extinguished.

The array shattered as well.

Rumble!

A pillar of black light burst from the earth.

Within it, a man bound in iron chains emerged. He was tall with a muscular frame that screamed terrifying strength. He was dressed in a tattered black robe, and his long hair draped over his shoulders. Golden chains bound his throat and limbs, which were connected to the earth.

He was the Barbarian Ancestor!

After his defeat in the Holy War, he was sealed and imprisoned here.

He stepped forward, and his wary gaze locked onto Fan Zhaodi.

"Who are you?" he asked.

The aura radiating from this woman was frightening, comparable to the Great Daoist Brush Master.

Fan Zhaodi looked at him. "From today onward, you will serve me."

The Barbarian Ancestor narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean by that?"

"Do you not wish for revenge? Do you not want to wipe away the humiliation your people suffered on that day?"

The Barbarian Ancestor's expression darkened.

Their defeat was tragic, and countless of them ended up becoming slaves.

He was also chained and buried in the ground for an eternity.

How could he not hate them?

Despite that, the Barbarian Ancestor suppressed his fury and asked, "Are you planning to destroy the Other Shore Hall?"

Fan Zhaodi nodded.

The Barbarian Ancestor exhaled slowly. "With all due respect, you're strong, perhaps as strong as the Great Daoist Brush Master, but even he failed to destroy the Holy Hall. So..."

He left the sentence unfinished.

Having been imprisoned for so long, he had learned one thing—the weak ought to stay silent.

Fan Zhaodi met his gaze. "You have no choice."

"I'd rather stay imprisoned." Once bitten, twice shy. The Great Daoist Brush Master had once vowed to help him topple the Holy Hall and create a fairer universe. Instead, the collaboration led to the deaths of his people.

He had no intention of being deceived again.

Fan Zhaodi raised her hand and pressed down.

A terrifying wave of Evil Dao energy crushed the Barbarian Ancestor, and blood-red chains wrapped around him.

"W-what are you doing?!" the Barbarian Ancestor roared.

Fan Zhaodi's voice was cold. "Sealing you again. Permanent, this time."

The Barbarian Ancestor panicked. "What?!"

In fact, the original seal on him had been loosening, and he only needed roughly a hundred more years before he could break the seal and free himself.

However, Fan Zhaodi was going to seal him again.

The seal grew stronger and stronger, and it eventually surpassed the True Saints' seal. The Barbarian Ancestor's expression changed drastically, and he frantically exclaimed, "Wait! Let's talk about it first!"

However, Fan Zhaodi didn't stop. The seal became even stronger, and the Barbarian Ancestor felt himself sinking deeper into the ground.

Now, he was truly terrified.

"Stop! I'll work for you!" he shouted.

Fan Zhaodi finally withdrew her right hand. The Evil Dao energy within the Barbarian Ancestor vanished without a trace.

The Barbarian Ancestor let out a long breath of relief and looked up at the woman standing before him. She was clad in a blood-red robe. His heart pounded wildly against his chest. Fan Zhaodi was beyond terrifying.

Fan Zhaodi calmly said, "Tell everyone to come here."

The Barbarian Ancestor stood up and asked in a low voice, "Are we going to attack the Other Shore Holy City right away?"

However, Fan Zhaodi shook her head.

The Barbarian Ancestor frowned in confusion.

Fan Zhaodi looked up and calmly stated, "If you're going to be a villain, you need to use your brain. Understood?"

The Barbarian Ancestor was at a loss for words.

***

When Fan Zhaodi arrived, her evil intent quickly spread throughout the Other Shore, drowning everything in its wake. The only place untouched was the Holy City of the Other Shore.

Elites from all directions were rushing toward the Other Shore City.

They were fully alert and were ready to fight at any time.

Nan Yi's face was grim as he stared at the blood-red sky in the distance. A heretic had arrived, and she was ridiculously strong! Nan Yi wondered if he could even stop her.

When he inherited the Other Shore Ark's inheritance, he received a divine mission. He was supposed to vanquish the heretic surnamed Yang. Back then, he thought he'd have time to grow stronger before facing the so-called heretic.

Unfortunately, the heretic had arrived much sooner than expected. He had yet to step into the True Saint Realm, but he was already facing such a powerful opponent.

Who the hell was supposed to deal with her?

Frustration flickered across Nan Yi's face. After a long moment of contemplation, he turned and returned to the tiny pagoda. The only thing he could do now was train.

The pressure was truly suffocating.

***

Nan Yi wasn't the only one feeling pressured.

The Dharma Lord and the Supreme Leaders of the Other Shore were equally shaken. As soon as Fan Zhaodi set foot in their world, her evil intent engulfed it in the blink of an eye. In other words, her strength was nothing short of terrifying.

With that, they sought out Nan Yi, the Holy Son of the Other Shore.

They refrained from visiting Ye Guan, as he was still in seclusion.

The Dharma Lord stared at Nan Yi and gravely asked, "Holy Son, she's incredibly strong. Do you have any plans against her?"

Nan Yi remained silent.

Nan Yi's silence made the Dharma Lord feel uneasy. "Holy Son..."

"Don't worry." Nan Yi swept his gaze across them. "I'll fight till my last breath."

The Dharma Lord hesitated before asking, "Holy Son... can you really defeat her?"

"No," Nan Yi sighed and said, "We'll have to call for reinforcements."
