I Became My Healer Elf Character-Chapter 107: Dragon Sea
"Master, there is really no need for us to board their useless ship when I can just fly us over. Then we can watch from a distance as the ship crashes."
Hikari chuckled at the dragon. "You know what? That might actually not be such a bad idea."
"Really Master?"
"Really." Hikari looked towards the white dragon. "Change of plans, we will simply fly to the island first. How long does it take a normal ship to get there?"
"A normal ship should take a couple of months to get to those islands if there is no turbulence. If we fly, it will only take us a couple of hours."
Kurayami held up a single finger. "It will only take me one hour to get there."
"Alright," Hikari said, "before we take off, I want to see the castle."
The elf led the other girls outside and unfolded her wings, not particularly caring who was watching. Initially she'd wanted to hide herself, but she was no longer going to stay in this world. After Kurayami got what she wanted, the group would leave to [Gensuba]. Hikari could always come back to explore later, but boarding the ship seemed like it would be too much.
They'd have to get into the ship by convincing the Emperor, and it didn't really seem worth it when in Hikari's mind, she really didn't care what happened to him. Better yet, it would be great if he got lost to sea somehow, even if it also cost the lives of his crewmen.
Hikari flapped her wings above the royal building. The most impressive feature of architecture across the whole Empire. There were two towering marble golems blocking the entrance, both with gigantic shields.
The elf narrowed her eyes, looking towards the long steps. On them was a smug little man, climbing each row, and wearing ornate robes. That must be the Emperor, even shares some of his brother's features.
If Hikari had to say, both of them were handsome in their own right, but this boy had a face she hated. It was a face painted with malice and always scheming. What she loved most about her dragon is that the girl wore everything on her face. If she wanted a skewer, Kurayami would start salivating. If she wanted to go to a dragon island, the dragon looked at the elf and pleaded with her eyes.
Hikari looked towards her side, and the dragon girl tilted her head.
"Is something the matter, Master?"
"No, I was just thinking how cute you are."
The dragon's face heated. "Master, don't say things like that right now, or it will make me want to push you down again."
Hikari surrendered, raising her hands into the air. "Fine, let's get out of here. I can already see people looking up at me."
Mizuko nodded. "They're worshiping your form. Mortals will instinctively know when they see greatness. I'm sure you've already inspired many poets here. But is it really okay to leave so soon? I thought you'd want to investigate everything in the college more."
"There is no need." Hikari pulled several books from her inventory. "I've already taken many books from them."
Ayase sighed and shook her head. "You stole some books?"
"It's not stealing! I'm just borrowing them until we come back here. Isn't that what a library is for?"
The group laughed, and Kurayami spread her wings. She transformed over the capital into the gigantic black dragon she was.
Faeyami's transformation came soon after, but her dragon form was a little smaller. Her slender white body mirrored Kurayami's own, but everything was opposing and white.
She kind of looks like the surrounding buildings.
Ayase hopped onto Faeyami's back, much to everyone's surprise. "Don't look at me like that. I already told you that I've been to the dragon islands, did I not?"
"You two met before!?"
Faeyami nodded with her large dragon head. "We didn't tell you? I thought I had mentioned it."
"I would have remembered if you mentioned something so important! Don't play dumb. Both of you acted like you didn't even know each other."
Ayase giggled. "That's because I thought you looked so cute. I communicated silently with Faeyami, and she played along."
Hikari pouted and crossed her arms. "Don't think I will not remember this in the future. The next time you say you want one of the items I procured I will simply ignore your pleas."
"No! Anything but that!"
The elf shook her head and tapped on Kurayami's back. "Let's go."
Like that, the group flew away from the Imperial city. They gained some distance, until all of the buildings looked like little ant structures. If Hikari was honest, she was really looking forward to going back to [Gensuba].
She felt like many of her questions would be answered. Though, she resigned herself to focusing on this last trip to the dragon islands. Whatever happened with human politics in her disappearance would be up to them.
However, she made sure to remember to grab Senjo on the way. She could even bring those two princesses back to [Gensuba] with her. More traveling would only do them good. A leader who's well traveled and met many people would make better decisions than some sheltered noble who'd never left their house.
While flying low to the sea, the elf looked down. They'd already reached the deep oceans where behemoths roamed, yet none of them seemed interested in attacking. Large tentacles breached the surface, and other long water dragons swam beneath the roaring waves.
Even while being in the middle of a storm, Hikari felt nothing. The lightning struck all around them, and rain poured wildly. The clouds were a roaring thunder, creating gale force winds that spun up hurricanes. Yet, even with winds more intense than anything possible on Earth, the group moved through them as if walking on solid ground.
The storm parted around them, giving way to the group like it was their duty. The elementals in the sky surrendered their domain to them, and they continued on.
After crossing the storm, the contrast on the other side was severe. Hundreds of islands greeted them. Many of them were floating in the air, and many more were lying dormant at sea. Each of them sported their own vivid array of colors from the flora present there.
One one floating island, Hikari could see a massive volcano with red lava pouring into the sea below. She wondered how magma even found its way up into the sky. It was as if the stuff was teleported from the mantle of the planet into the island somehow.
Several dragons flew around their respective islands. An island made of fire that somehow floated on the water? Dragons were found there as well, basking in the flames. All of these islands seemed impossible, yet all of them stretched for thousands of miles in all directions. So many plants and unique animals could be seen running around their surfaces.
Another large island floated in the air with blue trees. Forests covered the thing with blue leaves, and she could see hints of blue grass all around. Hikari turned her eyes to an even brighter island, floating higher than many of the others.
This one was pink and had cherry blossoms, scattering their leaves into the wind. It rose high up into the clouds.
Ayase pointed towards the pink island. "That's the place where I lived for all of this time."
"Is that where you want to go first?" Hikari asked.
Ayase nodded. "If you don't mind. I want to see how all of my snakes are doing."
The group flew up higher into the clouds, piercing straight through them. Even at this height there were other floating islands. One of them seemed to be made of the fluffy clouds around them, yet somehow it could support the weight of another dragon. Though looking closer, even that dragon seemed to be made of cloud.
"Really? There are even cloud dragons?"
Ayase chuckled. "I was surprised when I saw everything at first too. Like how are there so many dragons, wyverns, and drakes here, yet none of them try to end the world or destroy human civilization? In truth, the dragon's are much different than humans. They'd much rather be left alone, and as long as people don't intentionally come to bother them, they will not attack. There are some dragons that will more freely communicate with others, but these are not the norm."
Faeyami assented. "Many dragons will not even bother learning the languages of other races."
Kurayami bellowed a puff of black smoke from her nose. "That's because there is no need to learn the languages of those weaker than us. Humans are so involved in everyone else's business because they need to be that way to survive."
"What do you mean?" Hikari asked.
"Master, it's really simply when you think about it. If humans are in the business of others, they're protected. They have to worry about every little thing because even a pebble in front of them can make them trip and die."
Hikari found herself laughing on the dragon's back. "That's certainly one way to put it. Even when you are trying to give some words of wisdom, your view on humans is as scathing as ever."
"Hmph, nothing I say is untrue about them. If it weren't true, then all of those people we met wouldn't have been trying to get on your good side. If they wanted to talk to you, they would face you in combat with honor, and only if they proved themselves worthy would they be able to communicate on similar terms." The dragon looked up towards the shrine buildings they were approaching. "It looks like we've arrived." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
