Chapter 55 - Please, please, please let me kill him

"I don't think I ever said I will tell you this, anyways we are close to Mushma, this is where my friends are." Johan shook his head. There was no satisfactory explanation he could give Velmire besides telling him that he's a transmigrator, Leor is a transmigrator, and he is being chased by him—

Which would be stupid to tell someone like Velmire who clearly didn't trust Johan, so he directly dropped the topic.

Velmire nodded seriously, focusing on the ground below. His body was slowly getting fuller and less pale; he was recovering by using the remaining Aether in the Seal of Life.

They had already reached land, just flying above a deep forest currently looking very intimidating due to darkness and constant howlings.

'By friends he means? His sister and the butler who could go against three Divine Generals alone...' Velmire analyzed the information he'd heard, his face tense.

Melodis increased his speed to maximum at Johan's nudge. They reached over a serene environment in just minutes.

Both Johan and Velmire jumped off before Melodis even landed. Johan started walking toward the direction where he said he would meet Kirin, while Velmire followed closely.

Melodis landed, becoming the size of a normal eagle again, getting off Johan's shoulder.

Velmire stared at Johan with widened eyes as suddenly—

Johan's face started morphing, skin breaking off then regrowing, bones in his body trembling violently as they started growing and twisting painfully.

Slowly, his appearance entirely changed—purple hair with streaks of violet, purple irises, pale white skin. His body grew taller, around 6'6", extremely muscular and lean. The clothes—the white overcoat, black pants, white shirt—also grew in size to fit his body perfectly.

He smiled at Velmire, who stared at him, then continued walking the empty cold street like nothing had even happened.

Johan's boots thudded against the brick footpath as they walked. He turned around suddenly, asking, "Do you also want clothes?" His voice was genuinely curious, looking up and down at the completely naked, shivering Velmire.

Velmire's eyes went cold, his mouth twitching violently as if his lips would fall off from his mouth. "Yes Johan, I think I really could use some clothes, I am not sure though, do I need them?" he said in the calmest voice he could muster.

Johan nodded seriously and said in a low voice, "Perfect clone."

Instantly, an expensive-looking brown long coat, brown pants, and a white shirt manifested in his hands. Without wasting any more time, he passed them to Velmire.

Velmire took it with a forced smile, wearing all of them while staring into Johan's eyes—who was staring deeply at him changing—the forced smile never leaving Velmire's face.

"...Thank you so much," Velmire said through gritted teeth, his face pale.

Johan nodded, smiling with charm. "Of course. We are working together for a while now, there's nothing wrong with helping a friend." He gently patted the soft fabric of the brown coat.

Velmire felt the grip tighten on his shoulder, his face freezing.

"Also, it would be really helpful if you could provide your ally what you promised as soon as possible..." Johan smiled.

Velmire nodded, his eyes filled with regret. "I can call Orihime to bring them right now, I just need a Telecon..."

(A.N: Telecon = the artifact commonly used to contact)

Johan smiled, neither confirming nor denying, making Velmire even more impatient.

Due to the contract conditions, Johan knew Velmire could never hurt him or tell anyone about him, meaning... he could bully him as much as he wanted.

Bullying the weak was the philosophy Johan followed after all.

A few sweepers cleaning off vomit and food waste from the streets stared at the men with widened eyes. Most of them were women, immediately captivated by their handsome faces, their faces turning red as they felt something wet inside them. Even men—probably the women's husbands—started staring wildly, blushing more than the girls.

Johan smiled at them all, while Velmire nodded respectfully, thinking they had just recognized him and were trying to show him the honor he deserved.

Only two people were still sitting in the corner of a small stall, their backs leaning on the stone wall behind them. More than 70 beer bottles surrounded them. Sweepers stared at them, waiting patiently for them to stop drinking.

But it wasn't even them—it was just Kirin, while Sebastian smiled apologetically toward the sweepers as the Kirin leaning her head on his shoulder chugged down one more bottle.

"That's my sister," Johan whispered silently in Velmire's ear, pointing at a red-haired, busty woman grinning with dazed red eyes.

"...I see?" Velmire said impatiently, not sure how to reply to that. Both people looked miserable, and he wasn't confident in his ability to comfort others.

He just wanted to complete the three conditions and have nothing else to do with the man named Johan von Matilda.

Sebastian looked up. A genuine smile broke out upon recognizing Johan, but suddenly his eyes widened to the limit, recognizing Velmire as well.

He gently slapped Kirin's right cheek with a frown, trying to wake her up without making her fall off his shoulder.

She had drunk a lot to suppress the heaviness from recent events, trying to believe in Johan.

Johan also realized that, sighing and walking up to Kirin, while Velmire just chose to stay back and watch.

Kirin immediately woke up—she was sleeping with her eyes open, after all. She looked around dazedly, clearly due to the blurred vision from drinking.

Johan gently touched her head, brushing his fingers through the soft red hair with a smile. "Intoxinate," he mumbled incoherently, and instantly her eyes started gaining clarity.

Intoxinate was a spell the real Johan accidentally created while researching cures for different toxins.

A minor stage 4 spell, but extremely useful. When drunk soldiers were ambushed, they didn't have much time to shake it off—every battalion commander was taught this for that reason.

She instantly recognized Johan's disguised face, her expression brightening with realization. She immediately stood up, trying to hug Johan, but—

As she was closing in, her eyes widened, staring at the handsome purple-haired man. Her face grew ferocious, her eyes redder than when she was drunk—

"What is this bastard doing here!?" she instantly leaped into the air, trying to tear Velmire in half with her bare hands.

Of course, the real Johan hadn't told Kirin about the deal with Velmire and Radhaan. She was very close to Alya and would've never, ever been the same with him if she knew the reality.

All she knew was that Velmire and Radhaan were behind the death of Alya, her sister.
