Chapter 1493: Chapter 237 C-level Wanted List Target

"Sorry, this is a tavern, we only sell alcohol."

The servant of Minis Tavern refused to answer the Female Demon’s question, and did not even glance at the portrait shoved under his nose, repeating his mechanical yet polite speech: "If you need to order, here is the menu; your servant must wait outside, Zu Ge are not welcome here."

The tavern fell silent.

The boisterous patrons were breathing heavily, excitedly watching the confrontation. Zheng Qing felt that it would take just a spark for the entire tavern to explode into pieces with frenzied and frantic air.

He couldn’t help but steal a glance at the owner of Minis.

The tavern’s boss was cradling his arms, smilingly watching everything in front of him, as if the near-riot was too trivial to mention, and as if he had nothing to do with this tavern.

The Zu Ge, cowering on their chairs and the floor, trembled, curling up even more.

The Female Demon took a deep breath, her eyes intensely red.

It seemed that in the next moment, she would open her gaping maw and bite off the head of the rude little servant. But the next moment, Zheng Qing realized he had thought too much.

"Boss!"

The Female Demon turned her head and shouted: "They won’t answer my question, are they looking down on you?"

Nikita did not immediately respond to the Female Demon.

From the moment she entered, her attention had been captured by the wooden boxes on the dining table. Amidst the conflict between Zu Ge and the patrons, Zhuzhu and the tavern’s staff, she focused on the closest box, her fingers pinching, silently calculating something.

Intuition told her that something was inside those boxes, stealthily peering at her; but the results of divination told her the boxes were empty. This contradictory conclusion against her intuition greatly intrigued the Female Demon.

When Zhuzhu called out a second time, Nikita snapped out of her reverie, shifting her attention slightly away from those boxes.

"What?" She turned her face slightly and asked.

The Female Demon showed a hint of frustration, sulkily repeating: "They refuse to tell us the whereabouts of those guys and want to drive us out."

Nikita’s crimson eyes swept around.

All the patrons and servants whom her gaze swept over instinctively stepped back, as if bracing for a battle. The nearly explosive atmosphere in the tavern eased significantly under her gaze, as if a heap of gunpowder had been doused with a bucket of cold water.

"Call your boss out," the Female Demon’s gaze finally rested on the head waiter, her face wearing a smile, yet her voice was extremely cold.

The head waiter clenched his teeth, trying to resist the Female Demon’s gaze but was horrified to find that his body no longer obeyed his commands.

Zheng Qing once again stealthily glanced at Minis’ owner.

The tavern owner cradled his arms, standing nonchalantly in front of their table, his eyelids drooping as if he was about to fall asleep. The young cost student couldn’t help but swallow a gulp of saliva and began visualizing his Charm Gun in his mind.

But before he could fully visualize his Charm Gun, a familiar voice suddenly sounded beside the table.

"As expected, it’s Dreamland, where all sorts of bizarre things happen."

Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses and quietly glanced at the audacious little Female Demon, his voice not loud yet clearly audible to all patrons in the tavern: "Two Demons, one of whom is on the arrest warrant, dared to appear near the temple in Wusa city, seeking the whereabouts of the Wizard..."

The owner of Minis Tavern, who initially had drooping eyelids, twitched slightly and silently slid his foot to the side, revealing the figures of three Atoning Hunters.

Zheng Qing felt the partially envisioned outline of his Charm Gun tremble violently, almost collapsing. Jiang Yu was also surprised by Xiao Xiao’s action, but she still held the amulet and adeptly opened the Law book, vigilantly watching the two female demons not far away.

Zhuzhu turned her head toward the source of the voice.

She saw the familiar Watermelon Head and black-framed glasses of Xiao Xiao.

"Wow!"

The little Female Demon exclaimed in surprise: "An acquaintance, eh!"

Then her gaze moved slightly, soon spotting Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu: "Wow! Wow! Why are all of you here? I just said there was a familiar scent in the house... How come you have grown a cat’s tail? And you, why do you have cat ears?"

Meow meow!

Furry Bean crouched beside Zheng Qing’s feet, fiercely meowing at the little Female Demon a few times.

The little Female Demon excitedly tilted her head backward, turned to look at Nikita, and confidently stated: "They must be the ones who came here during the thunderstorm! Look, that grey-skinned dog!"

Zheng Qing was unsure what ’Zhu Si’ meant by ’during the thunderstorm,’ but as he gazed into those crimson eyes on the striking face, his heart couldn’t help but sink deeper.

Before meeting her, even though he had already seen Zhu Si’s eyes in ’Real Vision,’ he still harbored a one-in-a-million hope—what if he was just seeing things, or perhaps the vision was entirely a hallucination?

But what he saw before him now completely extinguished that faint hope.

"Sorry, I came late."

He looked at the little Female Demon, a black cat tail hanging from his robe touching the ground, his eyes filled with sorrow, and his voice deeply low.

Jiang Yu held the Law book in one hand and comfortingly patted the Warlock’s forearm with the other.

Nikita looked at the Warlock with interest.

"You guys are quite bold," the Female Demon’s gaze paused briefly on the three Young Wizards, her voice somewhat emotional: "Still remember the first time we met a year ago, how you were trembling in front of me... Time really does change a lot of things."

Jiang Yu had heard about this Female Demon from her companions and had also read about the incident that happened on the school-entrance flight last year more than once in newspapers, inevitably feeling a bit nervous, the magical light from the Law book flickering uncertainly, ready to be activated at any moment.

Zheng Qing slightly composed himself and looked at Nikita.

"You’re quite bold too," he said, tugging at the corners of his mouth, his face showing a strange and stiff smile: "Did you transform her?... Knowing you’re wanted by the Alliance, yet you still dare show up in front of the Hunting team, do you know how much your head is worth?"

Before Nikita could respond, Xiao Xiao immediately answered: "Nikita, a C-level Wanted List target, properties of a Registered Wizard, disciple of the Great Wizard Demon Ulrich, crew member of the Mist Ship, confirmed as a priority target by the Alliance. Worth 300 Jade Coins, as well as a hundred hunting points."

The Female Demon clapped her hands joyfully, flipped her hair, revealing her long clean neck, and tilted her head, looking at the young Hunters: "My head is right here, come and take it!"

The atmosphere inside Minis Tavern suddenly grew tenser, whispers rustling like a breeze sweeping through tree tops, the sound of leaves rustling softly yet chaotically.
