Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 846: Wild and Untamed
Chapter 846: Wild and Untamed
The moment Adam arrived on the city walls, the surrounding Magi felt their heart skip a beat.
Their backs were drenched in cold sweat, and they couldn’t stop their bodies from trembling in terror.
The aura Adam was radiating was simply barbaric!
One by one, all the Mana Foundation and the Mana Liquefaction Magi around him fell to the ground. They didn’t even dare to look in his direction, afraid that they might faint.
As the seconds slowly ticked away, they found it more and more difficult to breathe.
Seeing this, Adam couldn’t help but frown.
What’s wrong? He thought.
“Brother, it’s you,” said the gray cat as he took a large bite of a beast core.
Valerian casually cast a glance at the surrounding Magi struggling to breathe, then he shifted his gaze towards Adam and continued, “You should withdraw your fighting intent. We are no longer in the jungles.”
Adam’s eyes flashed with a peculiar light, and the next moment, he immediately withdrew his aura.
Instantly, he could see the Magi surrounding him taking large mouthfuls of air as if they had been drowning all this while and had just pierced through the surface of the water.
The several months Adam had spent inside the Murky Mountains, constantly fighting magical beasts, ogres, trolls, and orcs, caused his aura to become bloodthirsty and primal just like a predator’s.
He was always in the habit of enveloping his body in a layer of his aura, shielding himself from the unkind intentions of any monsters or beasts that came across him.
It became like second nature to him.
But little did he realize, his aura had been so heavily tempered by the constant battles and life-and-death trials within the Murky Mountains, that it had become no different from a weapon.
Interesting, he thought.
Suddenly, two figures appeared right beside him, pointing their blades at him.
The Mana Vortex Magi of the Towar Stronghold!
Their eyes flashed with extreme vigilance as they gazed at Adam’s towering figure. The muscles on his upper body rippled with vitality and strength. Additionally, his long hair and thick beard gave him a wild and untamed appearance.
To them, it seemed like Adam had spent his entire life in the Murky Mountains and had just learned about the wonders of civilization.
A human spending their entire life in the Murky Mountains?
That was something they couldn’t have imagined even in their wildest dreams.
“Identify yourself,” said one of the Mana Vortex Magi, a bald, old man with a thick mustache. He paused for a moment before adding, “Do you speak Acaros?” frёewebηovel.cѳm
Acaros was the tongue of humans in Tron. It was the language of trade, governance, and diplomacy.
Like in the other continents, it was considered the common tongue in Ulier as well. Although the people from the Southern Federation had a different accent when compared to the people of Acadia.
Adam arched an eyebrow, finding this situation very amusing. He ignored the man. He turned to the other man, this one slightly younger and someone with a head full of blond hair.
“Don’t point your weapon at him,” said the raven-haired youth, his voice calm but firm.
The Magus was pointing his blade at Valerian.
When this blond Magus heard Adam’s words, his eyes trembled. A drop of sweat trickled down the side of his forehead. In the end, he gulped and did as told.
Adam smiled amicably. Then, he turned to the bald, old man and answered his question. “As you can see, I can speak Acaros just fine.”
He lowered his gaze, looking at the blade pointed at his neck. “Now, won’t you lower that weapon? That’s quite rude of you.”
The casual manner in which the youth spoke to him caused the bald man’s expression to turn grim.
He’s not intimidated at all? He mused, his eyes flickering with caution.
Just who is he?
His grip around the weapon tightened. A terrifying light flickered in his eyes as he coldly stated, “Identify yourself, Magus. And tell us what you were doing in the Murky Mountains.”
Adam heaved a helpless sigh.
So much for some food and water, he thought.
“I am a citizen of Acadia,” he said. “As for what I was doing in the Murky Mountains… I was just passing through.”
“Passing through?!” the other Magus asked, dumbfounded. “What do you mean by passing through?”
Adam turned towards him and spoke matter-of-factly, “I mean, making my way through the Murky Mountains. I’m returning from the Southern Federation, you see.”
Every person who heard those words was equally dumbfounded.
Passing through the Murky Mountains?
Since when did those treacherous lands turn into a child’s playground?
Adam could see the suspicion growing in the eyes of the two Mana Vortex Magi standing before him.
Also, it did not help that his wild appearance made him seem like someone who had spent his entire life deep in the Murky Mountains.
Thus, in order not to draw out this unnecessary interaction any further, he conjured two rolled parchments from his obsidian hoop earrings.
The Magi flinched when they saw something appear in Adam’s hands, the vigilance in their eyes flashing even more intensely.
“Calm down,” said the raven-haired youth. “No need to get so worked up. These are my identification documents.”
Adam pointed to his left hand. “This is from Saratoga Castle.” Then, he pointed to his right. “And this is from Ravenfell.”
He then looked at the bald, old Magus and said calmly, “Go ahead, check my identity.”
The bald Magus hesitated for a brief moment before reaching out for the parchment. The blond Magus reached out for the other parchment.
While still pointing their weapons at him, the two Magi unfurlled the parchments and read through the contents.
One contained information about Adam’s status as a student at Saratoga Castle, majoring in the School of Summoning.
The other parchment displayed the raven-haired youth’s status as a noble Count of Ravenfell.
Both were official documents!
When the two Magi read these details, their hands trembled.
“Student of Saratoga…”
“Count of Ravenfell…”
They raised their heads and turned to look at Adam with an astonished look in their eyes.
“You… You are Adam Constantine?!”
“The Adam Constantine?!”
At once, the surrounding Magi became shocked out of their minds. They gaped at the raven-haired youth, their jaws touching the floor.
Seeing the dumbstruck look in every person’s face, Valerian’s lips curled into a smirk. “Heh.”
He cutely scrambled up Adam’s head and then stood tall on his hind legs. Crossing his tiny arms and raising his furry chin high, he declared with theatrical pride, “Bow, you pitiful mongrels…
“You are in the presence of the Dark King!”
