Chapter 289: Chapter 204: Era of the Saints, The Tragic Duo!_2

"Immortal Sect!"

"Established"

As his voice fell, Zhen Yuanzi’s voice followed.

"Heavenly Dao above, I am Zhen Yuanzi, a disciple of Hong Jun, the Ancestor of Immortal Dao. Today, I perceive that the Primordial Beings do not recognize the Heavenly Dao; thus, I establish the Earth Immortal Dao to teach and enlighten the masses, using the Earth Book to suppress Qi Fortune.

"Earth Immortal Sect!"

"Established!"

The next second, Lu Ya’s voice also rose:

"Heavenly Dao above, I am Daoist Lu Ya, a disciple of Hong Jun, the Ancestor of Immortal Dao. Today, I perceive that the Primordial Beings do not recognize the Heavenly Dao; thus, I establish Zoroastrianism to teach and enlighten the masses, using the Fusang Divine Tree to suppress Qi Fortune!"

"Zoroastrianism!"

"Established!"

Not only were Hong Jun’s disciples founding sects, but other Great Divine Ability Users were also doing so, just without the grand scenes of Hong Jun’s disciples’ establishment.

In the Western Premordial lands.

Mount Sumeru.

Zhunti’s expression darkened slightly, the Human Race was surrounded by mighty sects, and Qi Fortune had largely been occupied; he and Guiding were already late in founding their sect!

With insufficient Qi Fortune, they could not achieve sainthood.

"Elder brother, those damn guys actually fragmented the Qi Fortune for founding sects!"

Zhunti asked, "What should we do now, should we still establish our sect?"

Whether to establish a sect or not was not important, what mattered was whether the two could achieve sainthood.

"No harm, it’s within expectations!"

Guiding opened his eyes, having just lived through a life in a dream, and upon waking, his eyes still carried some haziness, "Junior brother, perceive for a moment the Dao Law I’ve recently understood. We do not need Qi Fortune, and yet we can still achieve sainthood!"

After speaking, he raised his right hand, and a ray of golden light shot into Zhunti’s forehead.

"What is this..."

Zhunti was initially startled, but upon seeing the content in his mind clearly, his face brightened with joy, "Elder brother, so you had already prepared! When shall we begin?"

"Now!"

Guiding spoke solemnly.

Zhunti, upon hearing this, sat up straight with a serious expression, "Then let’s begin!"

"Heavenly Dao above, I am Guiding (Zhunti), born in the Western Primordial lands, a disciple of the Tao Ancestor.

Yet among the Three Thousand Great Dao, there are eight hundred side paths, as decreed by Purple Cloud Palace!

Today, the two of us establish the Western Sect, breaking away from the Mystic Sect and forming our own lineage, in hope of the Heavenly Dao’s recognition!"

As their voices settled, the heaven and earth changed color, and a thunderous roar emerged!

Boom!

Above the cloud-covered sky, a pair of purple eyes manifested, watching Guiding and Zhunti for a long time before slowly dissipating.

"It’s done!"

Guiding and Zhunti, seeing this, simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief.

Boom!

The clouds dispersed, and the thunder faded.

A vast expanse of Merit Golden Light appeared in the sky, but for some reason it hesitated to descend, as if blocked by some force.

Zhunti and Guiding glanced at each other and sighed, "Let’s begin!" frёeωebɳovel.com

And so, the two began to make grand vows to the Heavenly Dao:

"Our world is filled with suffering.

We vow to create the Land of Ultimate Bliss in the Western lands, to seek great liberation for all beings.

Those who enter our Land of Ultimate Bliss may become Buddhas and attain liberation.

To seek Ultimate Bliss for all beings, for the good of all sentient beings, we make grand vows:

The first vow: should I attain supreme Bodhi and become truly enlightened, the Buddha realm in which I reside shall possess countless inconceivable merits and adornments.

In my realm, there shall be no Hell, ghosts, or animals; not even the beings of air or those who crawl. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

The second vow: when I become a Buddha, the countless worlds and beings therein, from gods to humans, even the flying and crawling creatures, upon rebirth in my realm, shall be born from the Seven Treasures Pool within lotus blossoms. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

The third vow: when I become a Buddha, whenever beings in my realm wish to eat, all manner of food and drink, deriving from the Seven Treasures Bowl, will manifest before them. After eating, all utensils shall naturally vanish. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

The fourth vow: when I become a Buddha, the beings in my realm who desire clothing shall have it come upon mere thought, requiring no tailoring, dyeing, or laundering. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

The fifth vow: when I become a Buddha, everywhere from the ground up to the void shall be filled with residences, palaces, pavilions, pools, trees, all adorned with Infinite Mixed Treasures and a myriad fragrances, blended to create wondrous and exquisite beauty, spreading its fragrance throughout the ten directions of the world. Upon smelling this fragrance, all beings shall practice Buddha’s behavior. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

The sixth vow: when I become a Buddha, all beings in my realm shall love and respect each other, without any feelings of disdain or envy. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

...

The forty-seventh vow: when I become a Buddha, Bodhisattvas from other worlds who hear my name shall return in progress and reach the state of non-retrogression. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

The forty-eighth vow: when I become a Buddha, Bodhisattvas from other worlds who hear my name shall return in progress and immediately attain the First Patience, Second Patience, Third Patience, and forever be non-retrogressive in all Buddhist Law. Should this not be achieved, I shall not become a Buddha.

Only when these forty-eight grand vows are fulfilled shall I become a Buddha, and my Western Realm shall become the Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The heaven and earth shall bear witness.

I swear it!"

After uttering forty-eight grand vows in one breath, the Merit Golden Light that hovered in the sky finally showed a sign of descending, yet it still did not fall, seemingly insufficient in the breadth of their vows.

Seeing this, Zhunti joyfully said, "It seems as Elder Brother predicted, Buddhism is indeed part of Heavenly Dao’s momentum!"

Guiding smiled and responded, "Buddhism resides within the Mystic Sect, yet is distinct from it.

From now on there is no Guiding of Mystic Sect, I am Amitabha!"

As Zhunti heard the words, he also spoke, "I am Zhunti Buddha Mother!"

As their voices fell, the two were enveloped in golden light, illuminating the entire Mount Sumeru.

Moments later.

The golden light vanished.

Zhunti and Guiding have already undergone a major transformation.

Amitabha (Guiding) is adorned in monk’s attire, with a shaved head and a ushnisha on top, hands outstretched, his expression filled with swift suffering, exhibiting a look of compassion for the heavens and pity for mankind.

Zhunti Buddha Mother (Zhunti) appears as a monk, draped in a glowing kasaya, her whole body radiating Light flames, her brows gentle and eyes kind, her face round and fair, exuding an exceptionally amiable aura.

Upon seeing this, the powerful beings from various regions of Primordial debated among themselves.

"Zhunti and Guiding are truly Great Divine Ability Users, possessing qualities we cannot compare to!"

"So one can establish a doctrine in this manner, this is an eye-opener!"

"Breaking away from the Mystic Sect of Immortal Dao, I wonder if it will provoke Hong Jun’s murderous intent!"

"No ordinary person can make such forty-eight grand vows!"

"Impressive!"

"..."

At the Eastern Sea.

Upon hearing the grand vows that resonated through heaven and earth, Primordial’s face turned angry, and he shouted furiously, "Traitors! How dare they establish their own Dao?"

Laozi, however, appeared much calmer, not surprised in the least:

"Brother, do not be angry! Have you forgotten what our teacher said when he expelled them from the Immortal Realm?!"

Primordial was taken aback, recalling the buts from Hong Jun’s words, and suddenly came to an enlightenment: "So the teacher had anticipated this long ago!"

"Indeed!" Laozi nodded.

Primordial looked towards Mount Sumeru and said, "Buddhism originally comes from Dao."

"Pfft!"

The Seven Calabash Brothers, seeing Laozi and Primordial discussing Zhunti and Guiding’s matter, all laughed: "Hehe! Can’t even protect themselves and still have the mind to mock others, what a pair of big fools!"

"What fool would think to snatch the Qi Fortune of the Human Race!"

"Exactly!"

"Seeing how foolish the two of them are, I don’t even feel like fighting them for real anymore!"

"Yes!"

"Foolish through and through!"

"..."

The Nine Great Guardians along with all Human Ancestors and Elders heard this and burst into laughter, yet no one spoke up to stop the mockery from the Seven Calabash Brothers.

In the Void, Laozi and Primordial heard the ridicule from the Calabash Brothers, their faces dark as water, wishing they could turn against them right away and fight the Human Race for three hundred rounds.

But the situation was not favorable.

Once they made a move, they would inevitably be suppressed by the strong humans.

The loss would outweigh the gain!

"Human Race!"

"My brother and I will remember you!"

Laozi turned furiously and disappeared from the shores of the Eastern Sea.

Primordial snorted coldly and left as well!

"All bark and no bite!"

Standing by, Lin snorted disdainfully with a twist of his mouth: "Not worth a laugh!" After that, he turned to look at the powerful humans and said, "Let’s head back as well!"

With those words, he transformed into a streak of flowing light and vanished into the sky.

...

Above Mount Sumeru, the Merit had finished brewing and came crashing down.

However, only a portion of it fell, and the rest remained suspended above the sky.

"Elder brother, what should we do?"

Zhunti was anxious!

This amount of Merit was not enough for them to achieve sainthood.

Guiding was also taken aback.

He looked up at the sky, frowning and pondering for a while, then said: "Brother, you and I share one sect, this Merit is only enough for one to become a saint."

"This..."

Zhunti was dumbfounded!

Had he known this, they should have established their doctrines separately!

"The Merit is insufficient, what should we do?" Zhunti looked towards Guiding, asking for a strategy.

Guiding did not speak, staring at the Merit above his head, lost in thought.

If both of them accepted this Merit, neither could become a saint.

If only one absorbed it, the other would fail to become a saint.

Neither outcome was what they wanted to see.

The saints and many Great Divine Ability Users saw this and started to take delight in their misfortune.

"Ha ha ha! Thunderous sounds, but little rain, now they’re caught off guard!"

"The method’s quite good! What a pity they miscalculated!"

"One person to become a saint?! Let’s see how you two decide?!"

"How interesting!"

"..."

Guiding originally had a bitter face, but now because of this, it looked even worse!

He had only calculated that issuing grand vows would gain Merit, not foreseeing it would turn out like this.
