Chapter 54: Heading for the ruin, an accident

"What’s this?" She exclaimed, clearly shocked with what she saw.

But I cannot make it obvious to her, so let’s just fake the ignorance.

"What is it, aunt?"

I used aunt again instead of mother. And clearly, I saw a very noticeable difference on her, but let’s not talk about it for now.

Her face twitched, her brews frowned as she tried to comprehend what exactly was it.

"This... this is not a supreme or even a mythical core..."

Yep, it is far above that.

But looking at her, I don’t think she have any idea of what it is. Well, it is be a shock for me if she knew what it was though.

And just when I thought of that, she muttered something that gave me the shock.

"A Godly core..."

She knew about the core? How?

But I didn’t ask her that outright. And she soon began to explain it to me.

"This is a Godly core."

Her eyes gleamed with the light of excitement. A huge smile carved on her face as she excitedly announced to me what it was.

"What’s a Godly core?" I asked, pretending I didn’t know what it was, well in a sense, I wasn’t pretending because beside it’s name, I do not know much about it.

"This is the core that should be possessed by only the gods. Those who have this core, will ascend to godhood for sure, if they do not die untimely. But nobody beside the gods should have this, so how? Why do you have it? Are you perhaps, reincarnation of a god?"

She asked me. With the excitement, there was also a feeling of dread inside her. I could understand her emotions were getting unstable right now.

But why is she acting so strangely? She keeps on muttering to herself and is trying to come up with an answer by herself too.

But then a realisation hit me.

I have heard that Ayesha is highly favoured by the goddess of life and she often talks with her.

So the knowledge of godly core... did Ayesha got it from her?

It seems plausible, but wait a minute... if she talks with her, then wouldn’t the goddess realize that I am the demon king?

[No, she won’t husband. I am still here.]

As that doubt rose in my heart. Zixane, who woke up just now, clarified it to me.

You woke up?

I asked her.

[Umm, someone was going too rough on me, so I had to take some rest.]

Rough? That wasn’t even the start, rest for a while, I will show you what your husband is capable of soon.

Hearing her voice made me calm. And I once again shifted my focus on to Ayesha.

After muttering to herself for while, she finally stopped and sighed deeply,

"With the core so big, you wouldn’t need the blessings at all, nor will it have any effects."

She then looked straight into my eyes firmly and held my face once again.

"Tell me the truth, dear. You aren’t hiding anything from me, are you?"

Why is she acting so serious? I doubt she figured out anything, so no need to worry.

"I am not, aunt." I responded.

Hearing me call her aunt, she pursed her lips. Her eyes turned dark as she softly spoke to me.

"Hey, do you mind calling me mother, when it is just the two of us?"

Huh? What is this about?

[...]

I guess it’s fine to do just that.

"Alright, mother." I said.

There was no harm in it, and I won’t lose a dime calling her mother.

She let out a happy smile when I called her mother.

So... everything’s done now right?

Shall I take my leave?

"Good boy." She praised me as if i had done a good job.

I am not a kid anymore. This just feels weird to me sometimes, I cannot act like a child everytime now.

After praising me, she pulled my cheeks, playing with me. Then as if she remembered something, ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"Oh... I almost forgot about this."

She checked her spatial storage. A magic circle appeared on the palm of her hand and a small dark blue pouch came out from that magic circle.

She happily forwarded that pouch towards me, and said,

"This pouch includes mana potions and many rare plants rich in mana and a few bottles of mana dew. This will help you in your mana absorption. I thought this will be plenty for you to reach at least rank 3 or 4 if you awaken a Supreme or mythical core, but now it seems it won’t be enough to reach even rank 2."

She seemed a bit low at the end, but once again forced a smile on her face and said, "Keep absorbing mana from this for now, I will get you more materials soon."

Now that i have mana core, my perception have increased by a lot. Even without looking inside that pouch, I could tell that the materials in there are rare, very rare.

And she told me few bottles of mana dew? Even one costs fortune. Small kingdoms will have to empty their treasury just to buy a bottle of it. Mana dew is the purest form of mana that could be found in nature. And she is giving me not just a bottle but 16 of them?

Heck, I don’t give a damn even if she treats me like a child. I won’t ever leave her thick thighs.

My sugar mommy.

"I will use it well, mother."

She simply smiled at me and didn’t say anything further.

And after a bit...

"Rest here for today, tomorrow, we will go to the castle together."

Saying that she left the room.

Together? And tomorrow? Ain’t no way, I can do that.

I finally found the time to go back to that cave. I cannot miss this chance.

I doubt she will come back to check on me. So let’s just leave my mana essence here. So, even if she checks on me using her perception, she will feel that I am still inside this room.

After setting up my mana essence, it was finally time for me to move.

I took out the chariot from my domain... I have been using it for storage for a while now. There is a lot of space anyway.

I got inside the chariot and turned it on. If I stay longer here, Ayesha might found out.

So I immediately flew from there. The chariot disappeared from the cathedral in an instant and stopped after reaching a very high place in the sky.

Now... where exactly was that cave?

The location for that is still vague. It was due to an accident that I got inside that cave that day.

It was during the time when I was running away from those slave traders.

It was around the border of the Human continent, nearing to the Elven continent.

So, let’s move to the south-east.

I controlled the chariot, flying it on its maximus capacity.

It wasn’t the speed which I could handle right now. But I am in air, so there is no problem.

It wasn’t like I will bump into someone this late at night.

So without a worry, I flew it at its fastest speed.

Within a blink of an eye, I was crossing mountains.

But the human continent is still too huge, it will take me hours to reach the border.

After a few hours, I was finally reaching the border of the human continent.

Between the human and Elven Continent was a huge sea, which was filled with different monsters.

The only way to cross the sea is through flying. If someone tries to cross the sea with a ship, then he will be destined to die.

Because even if that person is an archmage or swordmaster, he will fall victim to the never ending sea creatures that resides there.

Though I do not know about the transcended beings.

I always wondered why the sea is filled with so many monsters, but I was never able to go inside and see what is actually in there.

But maybe I will try to see what’s there at least once.

Those sea creatures are actually a buffet for me rather than trouble.

I smirked imagining how much strength I could accumulate if I go inside the sea after getting back my inheritance.

And in my thought, I got so lost that I didn’t even see that someone was flying in front of my chariot.

I hurriedly tried to stop it, but I couldn’t do it at time and hit that person with my chariot in full speed.

Oh shit. Was that a living person?

Ain’t no way he would have survived that, right?
