Chapter 2039: Yolanda’s Difficulties

"Are you really going back, Sect Leader McDonald? Aren’t you going to take a few days off?"

Waverly was concerned about Connor as she questioned him quietly.

"I’ve already taken a few days off. There are still many things in Yarlford that I need to deal with!" he said.

"Alright, then!"

She didn’t say anything further and nodded gently when she noticed that his stance remained steadfast.

The pupil of the Heavenly Sect sent him to the airport. Waverly had intended to accompany Connor to Yarlford, but he believed that his present condition was not dire and that there should be no risk, so he declined.

He entered the departure lounge alone after arriving at the airport.

He closed his eyes and relaxed after entering the departure lounge. Although he claimed that his physique was alright, he was exhausted after such an intensive combat.

It had been more than an hour since he had last opened his eyes.

Connor checked the time. There was roughly a ten-minute wait before boarding.

"Are you awake, Sir?"

At this point, a really attractive waitress in uniform approached Connor and murmured quietly to him.

"Yes!"

Connor nodded as he glanced at the waitress.

"Then I’ll take you to the airport to board the plane!"

The waiter proceeded quickly.

"Good!"

Connor agreed and proceeded to the boarding gate with the hostess.

The ticket was purchased by Waverly. The Purple Cloud Sect was now very wealthy, thus they would never reserve an economy class ticket for Connor. Instead, they booked him a first-class ticket.

After entering the first-class cabin, he discovered that this flight’s first-class cabin was unlike any other since his seat was in an exclusive private compartment with just two chairs.

"Mr. Connor, someone has already helped you complete the upgrade and paid the fee, so this is your seat!"

The flying stewardess approached Connor and whispered to him.

"Someone upgraded for me?"

When he heard the stewardess’ comments, he couldn’t help but be taken aback.

"That’s exactly right!"

The flight stewardess nodded and stared at him.

He knew nothing about flying. He just knew that upgrading meant changing from economy to first class, so he assumed Waverly had booked incorrectly and then upgraded herself, so he didn’t continue to inquire.

"Mr. Connor, if you have any orders, you can call me at any time!"

The stewardess went on.

"Alright!"

Connor agreed and took his seat.

He sat down, closed his eyes, and prepared to begin cultivating.

However, before he could reach the cultivation stage, he heard the sound of high heels striking the ground, followed by the scent of flowers.

"Miss Yolanda, your seat is here!"

The voice of the flight stewardess who had previously greeted Connor rang out.

"Miss Yolanda?"

He couldn’t help but be taken aback when he heard the nme. Then, unconsciously, he turned his head to look, and he saw a stunningly attractive lady standing near the flight attendant. Connor recognized this attractive lady as Yolanda from the Profound Sect even though she was wearing sunglasses.

She had already changed into her regular clothes. She was dressed in a long white gown, with her black hair loosely thrown over her shoulders. Her lovely face was hidden by sunglasses, yet it couldn’t disguise her attractiveness.

"Why are you here?"

With a bewildered expression on his face, Connor inquired.

She didn’t haste to respond to his query. Instead, she turned to face the hostess and quietly stated, "There’s nothing else for you to do here. You can go now!"

"Alright, Miss Yolanda!"

The stewardess turned to depart after nodding to Yolanda.

"Do you mind if I sit next to you, Mr. Connor?"

Yolanda approached him and asked him respectfully.

"If this is your seat, then sit down!" he said flatly.

"Thank you!"

She smiled and seated elegantly next him.

"Why are you here?" he inquired.

"I’m here to see you, Mr. Connor!"

She didn’t seem to be trying to conceal anything from him and responded frankly.

"Looking for me?"

When Connor heard Yolanda’s remarks, he was taken aback. Then, nonchalantly, he remarked, "I’ve already made it clear to your master about the marriage alliance. Because I have a fiancée, I am unable to marry into the Profound Sect. More significantly, I despise being exploited by others. If you’re here for this, I recommend you return!"

Yolanda shifted her gaze into the cabin. After ensuring that no one else was there, she removed her sunglasses and remarked to him solemnly, "Mr. Connor, I said something wrong before. I sincerely apologize to you!"

"This is not a problem of saying the wrong thing!"

"Mr. Connor, I will agree to any conditions you propose as long as you can protect the Profound Sect." I am available to be your lover. I don’t care about your rank as long as you safeguard the Profound Sect!"

She pleaded him with her eyes.

He couldn’t help but be taken aback when he heard her comments. Then he scowled and said, "For the sake of the Profound Sect, you are willing to make such a huge sacrifice?"

"Yes, as long as Mr. Connor can protect the Profound Sect, I will do anything!" she firmly proclaimed.

Connor appeared perplexed by the expression on her face. He couldn’t comprehend why someone would prioritize their sect’s existence above their own innocence.

Furthermore, he had the impression that Yolanda had made up her mind when she stated these words. She doesn’t seem to be the kind of lady who would willingly sell her body.

"The Profound Sect is my master’s blood and sweat." My master, on the other hand, is becoming old. In the future, I shall take over the Profound Sect from her. Regrettably, I am not an expert in old martial arts. My ability in ancient martial arts is not even equivalent to that of many of the sect’s students. As a result, once I am appointed Sect Leader of the Profound Sect, the Guardian Disciples of the Profound Sect will be quite upset. Our Profound Sect will be shattered by then. Mr. Connor, please help me safeguard my master’s life’s work. I’m pleading with you."

Yolanda seemed to be becoming more distraught as she talked. She nearly sobbed at the end.
