Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 799: Divine Artifact (Part 6)
Chapter 799: Divine Artifact (Part 6)
When Amalia saw Kenny Lin, she immediately noticed that his aura was different.
His whole body was filled with a fierce, electric energy, and there was even a faint smell of something burned.
"What did you do? Why do you smell like something’s burning?" she asked.
"I went through so much, and the first thing you notice is that I smell burnt?" Kenny Lin complained.
Amalia blinked, confused, "What did you do? And what’s going on with your body? It seems like it’s full of energy."
Kenny Lin took off the black robe he had just changed into.
If he hadn’t wanted to avoid being stared at like a zoo animal, he wouldn’t have put it on before meeting Amalia.
When Amalia saw his bare upper body, she finally realized where the burnt smell was coming from and blurted out, "Did you get struck by lightning?"
"That’s all you noticed? That I got struck by lightning?" Kenny Lin glared at her, as if daring her to say one more thing he didn’t like.
Amalia hesitated and said, "Uh... well, you’re in good shape."
Only then did Kenny Lin smile with satisfaction, "I think so too."
Amalia shook her head, exasperated, "Put your clothes back on. Sect Leader Qing and the others are coming in."
Kenny Lin’s expression turned gloomy.
He had just started showing off, and now these people decided to show up.
Great timing.
A moment later, Sect Leader Qing and several peak masters entered the room.
Suddenly, they felt a piercing gaze on them.
They all froze, then met Kenny Lin’s cold eyes, confused.
What was wrong with him now?
They had just come in and hadn’t offended him, right?
No matter how much they thought about it, they couldn’t figure it out.
However, remembering how Kenny Lin had just displayed his power outside, the peak masters, who had been eager to see the divine artifact Amalia forged, suddenly calmed down.
They quietly stepped back behind Sect Leader Qing, leaving him standing out alone.
Kenny Lin’s cold gaze immediately landed on Sect Leader Qing.
Although Sect Leader Qing appeared calm, it was hard to say if he was silently cursing inside.
Everyone else subtly stepped back, not wanting to provoke Kenny Lin further.
Then, with a slight bow of their hands, they said, "Congratulations, Martial Aunt, for successfully creating a divine artifact."
"You all already knew?" Amalia raised an eyebrow.
"Whenever a divine artifact is born, a lightning tribulation follows. Martial Aunt, didn’t you know?" Sect Leader Qing asked, surprised.
"I knew, but I didn’t encounter any tribulation during the forging process. Could it be...?" Amalia suddenly thought of a possibility.
Sect Leader Qing smiled, "The lightning was blocked by Senior Tian Wuya’s barrier. There were storm clouds inside the barrier, so it’s normal that Martial Aunt didn’t notice."
Amalia nodded her head in realization, "That explains why I occasionally heard faint thunderclaps when the weapon was about to take shape."
Sect Leader Qing’s eyes lit up slightly, "So it’s done? Martial Aunt, you’ve successfully refined the divine artifact?"
Knowing they had come for the divine artifact, Amalia took out the sword she had stored away.
At first glance, the sword appeared very ordinary.
If it weren’t for the faint pressure it emitted still lingering in the air, no one would have guessed it was a divine artifact.
Qixing Huayue pushed aside the others and strode up to the sword, his eyes gleaming as he stared at it, "It really is a divine artifact and of quite high quality. Is this truly your first time refining this one?"
He turned his head to Amalia, asking her eagerly.
Just as Amalia was about to nod, Kenny Lin cut in impatiently, "Qixing Huayue, who do you think you’re questioning?"
Qixing Huayue shuddered and quickly corrected himself, his expression softening, "Martial Aunt, was this really your first time creating a divine artifact?"
His square face didn’t suit such a gentle expression, making Amalia feel a bit uneasy, "Yes, it’s my first time."
Qixing Huayue didn’t seem to care.
After hearing Amalia’s response, he began carefully examining her from head to toe.
Suddenly, he said, "Martial Aunt, how about you stop practicing swordsmanship and come with me to Artificer Peak? I’ll give you the position of Vice Peak Master. You can teach me how to refine divine artifact, and together we can defeat Artifact Refining Valley and dominate the divine artifact market!"
The other Peak Masters behind him rolled their eyes.
Here he goes again, trying to convince another talented person to switch peaks.
The last time was about two months ago when he found a female cultivator who was a talented Artificer.
He even tried persuading her to join the Green Lotus Sect, saying he would introduce her to many brilliant young men, so she wouldn’t end up like the spinsters of the Divine Maiden Sect, who were hundreds of years old and still single.
Little did he know, she was already a disciple of the Divine Maiden Sect, and her master nearly came to duel him over it.
However, this was the first time they’d heard Qixing Huayue offer the Vice Peak Master position.
They wondered what Vice Peak Master Lou Pai would think if he heard this — he might even want to stab Qixing Huayue with a sword.
"Sect Leader Qing, why don’t you take that idea up with Senior Tian Wuya? We certainly have no objections," Sect Leader Qing said coolly.
Qixing Huayue’s face froze, clearly not brave enough to do such a thing.
Awkwardly, he replied, "I was just kidding. I wouldn’t actually poach her. But even if she doesn’t go to Artificer Peak, she could still teach me how to refine divine artifacts."
This was Amalia’s first time meeting the Peak Masters of the Nine Peaks, and she hadn’t expected them to be so quirky.
Sect Leader Qing turned his head to her and said, "Don’t mind him. He’s spent so long refining artifacts, but he’s still not as good as you. I don’t know how he has the nerve to even suggest this."
