Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 98: He wanted to burn her breakfast
Chapter 98: Chapter 98: He wanted to burn her breakfast
Because Shentu Jing had just come out of the pool, he was still wet. The wetness from his clothes soaked through Qin Zhuzhu’s clothes from behind. She felt the coldness and dampness touching her back, like a breeze coupled with the sea washing over her.
"Shentu Jing, you’re making my clothes wet," she struggled in his arms, but it was no use.
"You deserve it for playing tricks on me," he muttered, hot puffs of air steaming on her ears and cheeks, making her ears turn red.
So she stopped and looked over her shoulder, trying to catch a glimpse of his expression.
Shentu Jing held his Little Pearl tightly in his arms. If he said he didn’t miss her, then he was lying to himself.
"Shentu Jing, let go, or—"
"Or you’ll what?" he asked her, amused.
"Or I’ll scream and hit you."
"Go ahead, if that will make you feel better."
Make her feel better? Qin Zhuzhu thought about it. He knew that she was mad at him.
"If you really want me to feel better, then let me go," she demanded, more stern this time.
Being in his arms was giving her a strange feeling. Although his body was wet and cold, she didn’t feel cold. Instead, she felt warmth and very comfortable being held like this.
Shentu Jing slowly released her. The red light from the oven gave her no time to argue with Shentu Jing. She quickly rushed over to the oven.
"No! It’s burnt!" she cried, pulling open the door. Clouds of white smoke came out, suffocating her, and she coughed and waved at the air clumsily.
"Since your breakfast is burnt, how about having breakfast with me in Chongqing at 9 a.m.?" he smiled at her.
"Chongqing?!" Qin Zhuzhu was surprised.
That was the same place she had agreed to meet up with Peixuan Ruxi! Same place, same time!
What a coincidence!
She had an appointment with Peixuan Ruxi, and now she had to accompany him for breakfast. She could refuse him, right?
Then she realized something. He had done it on purpose! He had purposely held her in his arms from behind to distract her from the oven. He wanted her breakfast to burn so that she would accompany him!
How cunning!
"Can I say no?" she asked him.
"No."
"Okay. But why Chongqing?"
"It’s not far. Just take the high-speed train, and we’ll arrive there in no time," he crossed his long legs and leaned casually against the wall.
"Why do I feel like you’re up to something?" she looked at him suspiciously.
"I still haven’t forgiven you for lying to me," she added.
"I once asked you whether you cared about my identity. You said that you didn’t care who I was as long as I treated you right. You also said that I seemed like a good person. Don’t you remember?" he took a few steps toward her.
When did she say that? She might have forgotten about it because she never took the relationship between them seriously.
"Then I might have forgotten. You need to change your clothes. My carpet’s wet," she said as if she didn’t care, glancing at his feet.
She took a few steps backward. Shentu Jing knew that she was keeping her distance from him. Somehow, he felt a little hurt in his heart.
It seemed like she didn’t care about all the time they had spent together. In her eyes, was it really just a contract between them, and that’s all?
He decided not to mention it. He looked at his wet clothes and back at her hopefully.
"I don’t think I have any men’s clothes. Let me search," she went to look into her luggage that she had brought here from her old house.
She found some men’s clothing in her mother’s luggage, but they were old. Strange, whose clothing was this? It couldn’t be her father’s, could it?
But she remembered that her Uncle Song Muci had said her mother threw out all of her father’s clothing. These clothes were ordinary ones, not expensive. Qin Huaici wouldn’t wear something like this. He was known for being extravagant.
She pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind and gave them to Shentu Jing.
Even Shentu Jing was surprised that she had men’s clothing. Did she secretly bring home some man? He looked at her suspiciously and at the clothes, his gaze darkening as if he would rip the clothes to pieces.
Is he getting jealous over some clothes? Qin Zhuzhu noticed that look and laughed inwardly.
"It’s my mother’s. Could be my father’s old clothes," she told him intentionally.
"Why are you letting me wear your bastard dad’s clothes?" he glared at them disdainfully. He knew Qin Huaici had treated Qin Zhuzhu and her mother badly. Wearing his clothes or things was like slapping insults in his Little Pearl’s face, who had suffered so much.
"It fits you," she casually said and went to get a clean towel.
It fits him? Was she scolding him and calling him a bastard like her father? Was she playing with him?
"Here. Dry yourself first," she threw the towel at his head.
He took it grumpily and wiped his head.
"I’m not wearing that," he said.
"Then wear a blanket around yourself. We’ll stop at the mall and see if we can find you some new clothes."
"We?" Shentu Jing sounded happy when he heard that, though he tried to hide his emotions.
"Yes," Qin Zhuzhu said as she went to pour some tea in the kitchen. She left Shentu Jing in the living room.
She had a sneaky idea too. If she purposely made him stay in the mall, then she would have free time to meet Peixuan Ruxi.
Peixuan Ruxi knew that she was investigating her family. Grandpa was afraid of the Shentu family. But why?
She didn’t want Shentu Jing to know about this. What if he was connected to it? But he was very young at that time, so it couldn’t be.
"Do you have a hair dryer?"
"In the cupboard, second shelf!" she called out.
The next moment she came out of the living room, she was greeted with a chiseled chest, six-pack abs, and toned legs.
"Ah!" She was so shocked that she almost spilled the tea on herself.
