Fairy Tail Destiny-Chapter 184: Ch : Kain

Noel leaped back a step, dodging the incoming crystal ball.

His movement stirred up a faint trail of dust on the ground, but he paid no attention to it.

Instead, he focused on Ultear standing not far away, his brows slightly furrowed.

"Arc of Time... accelerating the time of matter, and even magic... no, magic power itself?"

During their brief skirmish, Noel had already attempted both close-combat and long-range magic attacks against Ultear.

However, each time, his magic power dissipated rapidly as it neared her.

Her Arc of Time might not be particularly outstanding in terms of offense, but in terms of difficulty to deal with, it was one of the most troublesome magics Noel had ever encountered.

"Heh, it's useless, Noel Rutherford. Your strength does indeed surpass mine by a significant margin, but the Holy Light Magic you take pride in is powerless before my Arc of Time."

Ultear held the crystal ball in her hands, a faint smile on her lips.

However, a flicker of tension and concern occasionally flashed in her eyes.

In truth, Ultear was not nearly as composed as she appeared.

Noel's strength far exceeded her expectations, and she was already exerting herself to the limit just to defend herself—let alone finding an opportunity to counterattack effectively.

Ultear made up her mind.

Engaging in a direct battle with Noel was an extremely unwise move for her.

"Hey, how about we make a deal, Noel?" Ultear suddenly softened her tone and spoke to Noel.

"There's really no need for us to fight like this. I have no intention of battling Fairy Tail. All I want is Zeref. So, how about we call a truce—"

"You're trying to run away, aren't you?" Noel suddenly interrupted her, his clear blue eyes gleaming with a sharp, icy light.

His tone was firm and absolute.

"You invaded our guild's sacred land, and now you expect to leave unharmed? Don't be ridiculous, Ultear. There's no such thing as an easy escape in this world. There's only one thing I want from you all—to utterly crush you."

"So, in other words, there's nothing left to discuss?" Ultear's expression gradually turned cold.

Noel didn't answer, but the surging magic radiating from his body had already given Ultear her response.

Brilliant white magic energy coiled around his right hand as he charged straight at Ultear, throwing a powerful punch.

Boom!

A massive figure was sent flying by Noel's magic-infused fist, crashing violently into the large tree behind Ultear, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Lucy, why are you here?"

Noel looked at Lucy in surprise as she suddenly appeared before him.

Just as he had been charging toward Ultear, Lucy and a strange-looking man had suddenly fallen from the sky.

By sheer coincidence, Noel's fist had struck the peculiar man instead, sending him flying.

"I'm wondering the same thing, Noel. But thanks to you, I was saved." Lucy was clearly just as surprised to see Noel, though relief quickly took over.

On the other side, Ultear stood still, her brows furrowing slightly.

Without even turning her head, she spoke in a cold voice, "Kain, why are you here?"

From behind her, one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, Kain Hikaru, slowly stood up, rubbing the spot where Noel had struck him.

Hearing Ultear's dissatisfied tone, he shuddered and quickly pointed at Lucy in explanation, "Big Sis Ultear, I had cornered this woman!"

"So, Noel is also fighting an enemy?" At that moment, Lucy noticed Ultear standing nearby.

Her expression grew serious as she asked the question.

Noel nodded, then suddenly reached out a hand toward Lucy.

"Yeah, that one is strong. Lucy, even though Natsu, Erza, and Gray aren't here, let's put the exam on hold for now and fight together."

Lucy was momentarily stunned, but then she smiled in understanding.

Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she reached out and clasped Noel's hand.

"Yeah."

"Holding hands so affectionately—unforgivable!!"

Seeing Noel and Lucy clasp hands, Kain's face twisted with a mix of jealousy and dissatisfaction, veins bulging at his temples.

He pointed at them with agitation and declared to Ultear, "Big Sis Ultear! There's no need for you to personally deal with these guys! I can take them out myself! I alone am more than enough!!"

"...I understand. I'll leave it to you. I must bring Zeref to Master Hades."

Ultear hesitated only for a brief moment before agreeing outright.

She wasn't naïve enough to think that Kain could actually defeat Noel, a Wizard Saint.

However, buying time was another matter entirely, and for Ultear—who was eager to retreat—Kain's sudden appearance was nothing short of a blessing in disguise.

"What... You've already found him?" Kain's face showed a look of surprise.

Hearing their conversation, Lucy quickly turned to Noel in alarm.

"This is bad, Noel! We can't let them take Zeref! They keep talking about this Great Magic World or whatever, but no matter what, it's going to be a disaster!"

Noel clenched his fists, his gaze locked onto Kain and Ultear.

"No need to worry. From the very start, I never intended to let them leave here unscathed. Anyone who invades Fairy Tail... none of them will be leaving in one piece."

As his words fell, Noel's body transformed into a streak of light, blasting forward at Ultear with a speed rivaling that of a cannonball.

"Don't you dare interfere with Big Sis Ultear! [Super Overpowering Palm]!"

Just as Noel was about to reach Ultear, Kain suddenly lunged out from the side, positioning himself in Noel's path.

With both hands thrust forward, he intercepted Noel's attack head-on—without even budging.

"What?"

Noel took a step back, his eyes widening slightly as he looked at the man named Kain standing before him.

"He actually blocked Noel's attack?" Lucy muttered in shock.

Kain assumed a sumo-like stance and smirked.

"I won't let you interfere with Big Sis Ultear! When it's time to strike, I strike! Hmph!"

"No choice, we'll have to take this guy down first." Noel sighed before turning to Lucy.

"Lucy, can I trouble you to go after Ultear?"

Lucy nodded and immediately started running in Ultear's direction. "Got it! Leave it to me!"

Just then, Kain's eyes flashed with an eerie light as he murmured something under his breath.

In the next moment, Lucy's body suddenly froze in place, as if she had turned to stone.

"Lucy, what's wrong?!" Noel asked in confusion.

Lucy struggled to respond, "I... can't move my body!"

Kain grinned and pulled out a small doll, pointing to a single strand of blonde hair attached to it. "I plucked one of your hairs while chasing you, you know!"

"W-What?!"

"Thanks to this, you and my little curse doll have become one! Now you're just my puppet on a string. Time to get back at you for earlier!"

As Kain spoke, he manipulated the doll with his fingers, making Lucy's body move in sync with it.

After observing for a few seconds, realization finally dawned on Noel.

"So this is a type of curse magic?"

"That's right!" Kain, completely unaware of his mistake, casually confirmed it.

Noel sighed. "You members of Grimoire Heart sure love using troublesome magic."
