Fairy Tail Destiny-Chapter 180: Ch : The Withering of the Fairies 2
Chapter 180 - Ch 180 : The Withering of the Fairies 2
Boom!
A barrage of weapons, each with a unique design, rained down from the sky.
Elfman and Evergreen's expressions changed instantly as they swiftly leaped backward, barely dodging the deadly assault.
The torrent of weapons slammed into the ground, leaving behind a massive crater several meters deep.
"What the hell is this guy's magic?"
"Is it some kind of summoning magic, like Lucy's?"
The two took several steps back, their expressions tense as they stared at the calm and composed blond youth standing leisurely in the distance.
The blond youth remained unfazed.
With a casual snap of his fingers, the once-empty sky behind him suddenly filled with dozens of purple weapons—halberds, spears, swords, axes, blades...
Each weapon gleamed with a metallic sheen, dazzling yet ominous, radiating a powerful magical aura—far from ordinary weapons.
"You should just give up." The youth, Reign, spoke softly.
"My magic, Infinite Armament, allows me to summon and freely wield weapons from another dimension. Against me, you two stand absolutely no chance."
As his calm declaration fell, the floating weapons shot forward once more, launching a relentless assault on Elfman and Evergreen.
The sheer density of the attack left them with no room to evade completely.
While they barely managed to dodge the worst of it, their bodies were still grazed by several blades, leaving behind fresh wounds.
"If you're a real man, then fight me head-on, dammit!!"
Elfman clutched the bleeding wound on his arm, his angry roar echoing across the battlefield as he glared at Reign.
Reign's lips curled into a mocking smirk.
"Isn't this already a fair fight?" he sneered.
"I'm telling you to come fight me up close! What kind of man just stands back and attacks from a distance?!"
"Fairy Machine Gun: Pixie Bullets!"
Evergreen gathered her magic power, and a barrage of countless glowing fairy needles shot toward Reign like a relentless storm.
However, Reign's expression remained completely unchanged.
Suddenly, a shimmering purple shield materialized before him.
Evergreen's attack struck the barrier, causing a series of small explosions to erupt on its surface.
But when the smoke cleared, the purple shield remained completely unharmed—without a single scratch.
Evergreen's pupils contracted slightly.
"It didn't work?!"
"Hmph, petty tricks." Reign scoffed.
Even more weapons materialized behind him and shot toward Evergreen with frightening speed.
"Take Over: Beast King's Soul!!"
Seeing Evergreen in danger, Elfman let out a roar, and a blinding flash of light engulfed his body.
When the light faded, Elfman had transformed into a massive beast-like monster.
He immediately threw himself in front of Evergreen, his massive fists swinging wildly, knocking the incoming weapons away one after another.
However, the overwhelming barrage took its toll—his arms were soon covered in fresh wounds.
"Ever!! What the hell are you waiting for?!"
Elfman gritted his teeth, continuing to punch away the incoming weapons while shouting urgently.
"Hurry up and turn him into stone!"
"The only ones allowed to call me 'Ever' are the Thunder God Tribe and Laxus."
Evergreen, having just dodged a fatal attack, unusually chose not to bicker with Elfman this time.
Instead, she removed her glasses, her glowing eyes locking directly onto Reign's gaze.
"However, I'll make an exception this time."
"Because I'm about to turn this bastard into a statue forever."
"Petrifying Eyes!"
A strange sensation began to creep up Reign's body—his sense of touch faded, and his legs slowly hardened into stone.
Reign's brows furrowed slightly as he murmured in mild surprise,
"Huh. Didn't expect you to be this capable."
"But... you're still too naïve."
He slowly raised his hand, and in an instant, a purple shield materialized in his grip.
"Medusa's Shield: Reversal."
The moment the shield appeared, the stone encasing Reign's legs suddenly cracked, and then—BOOM!
The petrified sections shattered completely, revealing his unharmed body.
"What?!"
Both Elfman and Evergreen let out cries of shock.
Watching their stunned expressions, Reign smirked.
Then, in a calm yet mocking tone, he asked,
"Tell me—do you know what makes my magic the strongest?"
Evergreen snapped back with an icy glare.
"Are you an idiot?! How the hell would we know something like that?!"
Despite Evergreen's mocking tone, Reign's expression remained unchanged.
He had never expected an answer from them in the first place.
With a slow breath, he closed his eyes, and once again, dozens of uniquely shaped weapons appeared behind him.
Reign spread his arms wide, his voice brimming with undisguised arrogance:
"A weapon is nothing more than a tool for killing. But... When wielded by the strong, it transcends its mere existence. Through countless battles, a weapon's rank evolves, granting it unique properties. These weapons... we call them 'Noble Phantasms.' What makes Noble Phantasms truly formidable is their distinct abilities— Some can assimilate magic, some are indestructible, some slay dragons, and some never break... And my Unlimited Armament is a treasury that holds every single Noble Phantasm from all of history."
"So what?!"
Elfman, utterly unfazed by Reign's grand speech, scoffed.
"You're rambling on and on about pointless crap! If you wanna fight—then just fight already!"
"Still don't get it, huh?"
Reign sighed, scratching his head.
"Whatever..."
He extended his hand, and suddenly—
A long blade materialized out of thin air.
"Seeing is believing, after all. So, I'll let you experience it firsthand. For the record— This sword in my hand? Its name is 『The Beasts' Final Path.』"
Reign stood in place, gripping his long blade.
With a simple swing through the air, a scarlet arc of sword energy shot forth from the blade, slicing through the air with a piercing howl, hurtling toward Elfman.
Without hesitation, Elfman charged forward, throwing a powerful punch.
SPLASH—
Blood sprayed.
The scarlet slash had pierced straight through his hardened Beast King skin, leaving a gaping, gruesome wound on his arm.
"Aghhh!"
Elfman let out a painful cry, clutching his mangled arm as he dropped to one knee.
His eyes locked onto Reign in disbelief, teeth clenched as he muttered:
"What... the hell...?! I could tell... that attack wasn't even that powerful!"
Reign's expression remained calm as he casually explained:
"Didn't I already tell you? This blade—its name is『The Beasts' Final Path.』
The hero who wielded it once slew ten thousand magical beasts with this very sword. And as a result, the blade evolved, gaining the power to suppress and counter all beast-type entities.
You should be grateful— Even though you're in your Beast King form, your true essence is still human. Otherwise— That one attack would've outright killed you."
"What?!"
Elfman's eyes widened in shock.
Reign smirked, his tone laced with absolute confidence:
"This is the true power of my magic. A treasury of infinite Noble Phantasms, each with unique properties that counter any enemy, Endless variations, Absolute supremacy. The strongest, most unbeatable magic!"
Evergreen's face darkened as she gazed at Reign's arrogant stance.
A suffocating sense of dread welled up within her.
("This power... Does this mean he has a counter for every kind of magic?")
("That's impossible...I need to think of something. Otherwise... we have no chance of winning.")
"Elfman, listen carefully." Evergreen suddenly spoke in a low voice to Elfman.
"What's wrong?"
"From this guy's fighting style, he's a long-range attacker. If we keep fighting like this, we have no chance of winning. So... in a moment, I'll create an opening for you. You must close the distance and use your strength to defeat him. Understand?" Evergreen said seriously.
"Got it, I'll leave it to you... as a man." Elfman nodded.
"Alright, that's the plan. Let's go." Evergreen said, then charged out first, gathering magic power around her.
"Fairy Bomb: Pixie Dust!"
A cloud of shimmering fairy dust spread out, surrounding the shielded Reign.
In the next instant, the pollen exploded—Boom!
The blast echoed as thick smoke billowed out, completely engulfing the entire battlefield.
"Go now, Elfman!"
"OOOOHHH!!" Elfman roared in excitement, seizing the opportunity.
He charged straight toward Reign through the lingering smoke.
The few meters between them vanished in an instant—before he knew it, Elfman was only one step away.
He could clearly see every subtle change in Reign's expression.
(I did it!)
Elfman raised his fist, swinging it fiercely toward Reign's face.
In that brief, victorious moment—what should have been a fleeting instant—somehow stretched out into an eternal freeze.
As if time itself had stopped.
No—what had stopped wasn't time.
It was him.
Just as Elfman's fist was about to connect, his arms, legs, shoulders, and waist were all bound by thick chains, locking him firmly in place.
"Divine Lock." Only then did Reign's voice echo softly.
"Tch... You really have a bunch of annoying tricks, huh?" Elfman forced a bitter smile.
One step away—yet worlds apart.
Reign didn't reply.
Instead, a cold smirk flicked across his lips as a purple longsword appeared in his hand from out of nowhere.
"As entertainment, you've already brought me enough amusement. Now... this will be the end."
Without mercy, Reign's sword pierced straight through Elfman's body.
Elfman's mouth opened as if to speak—but in the end, he could only let out a pained groan.
The chains around him slowly vanished, and his entire body collapsed to the ground.
The crimson pool beneath him spread out, dyeing the earth a vivid, blood-soaked red.
"And now... only you remain."
Pulling his sword from Elfman's body, Reign cast a cold gaze toward the stunned Evergreen.
Behind him, dozens of floating weapons—already terrifying in number—suddenly surged to nearly a hundred.
Their sharp edges gleamed like a field of stars, radiating an unfiltered killing intent.
With a snap of Reign's fingers, the hundred weapons shot forward in a devastating barrage.
Boom!
Smoke and dust erupted into the air.
Amidst the chaos, a piercing scream from Evergreen rang out.
When the smoke finally cleared, she lay motionless on the ground, her body impaled by multiple weapons.
Blood oozed steadily from her wounds—she had already lost consciousness.
"Alright... time to hunt the next prey."
Without sparing a glance at either Elfman or Evergreen, Reign turned and walked away.
