Chapter 129 - Ch 129 : A Guild That Exists for One Person

The rising sun cast a crimson glow, quiet and warm.

Erza stood silently at the edge of the cliff, gazing at the ascending sun, saying nothing.

"Still thinking about Jellal?" A voice from the side made Erza slightly startled.

She turned her face and saw Noel sitting not far away, also looking at the distant sunrise.

"Mm." Erza nodded.

"Are you sad?" Noel looked at Erza.

His sky-blue right eye, no longer covered by an eyepatch, and his silver-white hair were tinged with a hint of crimson under the sunrise.

Erza gently shook her head. "No, rather than sadness... it feels more like relief."

"Relief?" Noel tilted his head in confusion.

"Mm..." Erza's expression was a mix of emotions.

The breeze blew past, lifting her crimson hair.

"It's hard to describe... but it feels like... it's finally over."

Noel quietly watched Erza.

"What's wrong?" Erza asked curiously.

"It's nothing, don't mind me. I'm just a little surprised," Noel said softly.

"Because... wasn't Jellal the person you always liked? So it's a bit strange to see you so indifferent about it..."

"Liked? What are you talking about?" Erza suddenly interrupted Noel, frowning as she looked at him.

"Huh? Isn't that the case?" This time, Noel was the one who looked confused.

"Of course not." Erza, as if deliberately clarifying, said firmly to Noel, "I never liked Jellal. Noel, don't go making things up."

Seeing Erza getting a little worked up, Noel scratched his cheek, feeling puzzled.

Was she just being shy? That didn't quite seem like it...

Unable to make sense of it, Noel decided to let go of the matter.

"Noel, Wendy told me... you've regained your memories, haven't you?" Erza suddenly asked.

"Yeah, that's right." Noel let out a wry smile.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Light King's personality and the power of Nirvana, the fusion had gone quite smoothly.

However, since he had been focusing on merging the two personalities, his outward behavior had appeared as though he had lost his memory.

Still, he clearly remembered everything that had happened after being brought back to Fairy Tail.

(Mira... you really... how am I supposed to deal with this?)

Thinking about the kiss from Mira that night, Noel felt incredibly conflicted.

Letting out a sigh, he decided to temporarily push the matter aside and focus on assessing his current physical condition.

Theoretically speaking, now that his body had been repaired, Noel should be able to use divine power.

However... in reality, it was best to avoid using it, as his body couldn't withstand it.

Since the Light King had absorbed a significant amount of life force, the internal organs damaged by the Ivan incident and the Tower of Heaven incident had fully healed.

However, they were still newly regenerated.

It was important to note that Noel's original body had undergone continuous transformations within that blood pool, reaching a level of strength that was practically another tier of lifeform.

In contrast, his newly regenerated organs were merely at the strength level of an ordinary human's.

Under these circumstances, if he used divine power for an extended period, his organs would undoubtedly collapse.

Even during the battle against Fairy Tail, the Light King refrained from extensively using divine power for the same reason.

This was why Fairy Tail's members were able to hold their ground against Noel in his Light King state.

Otherwise, with the sheer strength of high-level divine spells, a single strike would have been enough to annihilate them all.

(For now, it's best to avoid using divine power unless absolutely necessary. Short-term use won't cause any issues, but prolonged usage will definitely put too much strain on my organs. Still, after merging personalities, my magic power has increased by another level. That should be enough to handle things.) Noel thought to himself.

"Noel..." Erza spoke softly.

"Hmm?"

"Please... don't leave again, okay?"

Noel was stunned.

Seeing the sadness on Erza's face, he felt a sharp pain in his heart.

Emotions surged within him like an unstoppable flood, and before he knew it, a faint smile filled with apology had already appeared on his lips.

"Sorry... there won't be a next time."

"Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, and also Wendy and Carla—you've finally defeated Oracion Seis and stopped Nirvana. On behalf of the Regional Guild Alliance, I, Roubaul, sincerely thank you all. Thank you, truly." The master of Cait Shelter, Roubaul, gathered everyone in the square and expressed his gratitude.

"No need to be so formal, Master Roubaul! Our battles against Oracion Seis were tough, but the bonds between our comrades led us to victory!"

Ichiya jumped forward with a triumphant look, acting as if he had played a major role.

However, in reality, he had been captured at the very beginning and had absolutely nothing to do with defeating Oracion Seis or destroying Nirvana.

"This guy sure knows how to take credit for things..."

"Did he even fight anyone?"

Clears throat—Noel let out a quiet cough, and Ichiya immediately felt a chill down his spine, breaking into a cold sweat. "Ah, of course, the greatest credit naturally goes to those who defeated Oracion Seis and to Noel, who destroyed Nirvana!"

With a deadpan expression, Noel decided to ignore the fool's antics.

"That means it's time for a victory feast, right?" Natsu suggested excitedly, a proposal that was quickly met with enthusiastic agreement from everyone.

However, the group's enthusiasm was quickly dampened, as the members of Cait Shelter showed no signs of joy.

Instead, their faces were solemn and silent.

"...Everyone, I sincerely apologize for hiding the truth about the Nirvit tribe from you." Roubaul suddenly bowed his head in apology.

"Come on, don't ruin the mood with something like that."

"We don't mind at all, right?"

"Aye!"

"If you have something to say, please speak freely, Master Roubaul." Seeing that Roubaul seemed to have something important to reveal, Noel politely greeted him, his gaze sweeping over the members of Cait Shelter.

From the very beginning, Noel had noticed something odd—their magical power felt strangely out of sync.

But more than that, what puzzled him most was that all of their magic was somehow linked directly to Master Roubaul.

"Everyone, please listen carefully to what I'm about to say. First, we are not descendants of the Nirvit tribe—we are the Nirvit tribe. And 400 years ago, it was I who created Nirvana." Roubaul's words were like a bombshell, stunning everyone into silence.

"What?"

"No way?!"

As if struck by lightning, everyone was utterly shocked by Roubaul's words.

Ignoring their stunned expressions, Roubaul spoke heavily, his tone filled with sorrow. "400 years ago, in an attempt to stop the wars of the world, I created the magic known as Nirvana, which reverses good and evil. At the time, Nirvana became a symbol of peace for our nation, ushering in a new era. However, an excessively powerful force inevitably breeds an equal and opposite force. While Nirvana could turn darkness into light, it was also surrounded by the very darkness it sought to erase. Balance had to be maintained—human nature cannot be endlessly shifted toward the light. Just as there is light, there must be darkness. Just as there is darkness, there must be light..."

"Indeed, where there is light, there will always be darkness. That is an unchanging truth," Noel nodded in agreement.

"...Yes. But we violated this fundamental law. As a result, the darkness that humanity lost clung to us—the Nirvit tribe. It was hell. We turned against each other, and in the end, we destroyed ourselves. I was the only one who survived." Roubaul face was filled with bitterness and pain.

"No... At this point, even saying that isn't entirely accurate. My true self perished long ago. What remains now is merely a lingering will, a near-illusory existence. In order to atone for my sins, I have been waiting for someone strong enough to destroy Nirvana in my place... For 400 years, I have been watching and waiting. And now, at last, my mission is complete..."

"This... something like this?" Wendy stared blankly at Roubaul, unable to utter a single word.

At that moment, the members of Cait Shelter began to slowly fade away, one by one.

"What's happening? Everyone?! You... you all..."

Wendy and Carla looked on in confusion as the members of Cait Shelter continued to disappear.

Hibiki from Blue Pegasus watched in shock. "What's going on? People are disappearing?!"

"They're illusions... These people never truly existed in the first place. They were merely illusions created by Master Roubaul," Noel slowly closed his eyes.

He finally understood why the magic of Cait Shelter's members had felt so strange—because they weren't real people.

They were magical projections, mere phantoms.

"What did you say?!"

"Illusions... with personalities?!"

"No! Please, don't disappear! Everyone, don't go!!" Wendy cried out in despair, tears streaming down her face.

"I'm truly sorry for keeping this from you all..." Roubaul looked at Wendy with a gentle expression.

"Just as Noel said, the members of this guild were all illusions I created. I lived alone in this abandoned village for many years, guarding Nirvana. But then, seven years ago, a young boy arrived at my home. When I looked into his innocent and sincere eyes, I couldn't bring myself to refuse him... Even though I had resolved to bear this burden alone, I ended up creating the illusion of guildmates for him."

"A guild... created just for Wendy?" Lucy said in shock.

Wendy covered her ears and shouted, "I don't want to hear this!! Bascos, Naogi, don't disappear!"

Roubaul closed his eyes, then smiled as he gestured toward the people behind Wendy. "Wendy, Carla, you no longer need false companions. Haven't you already found real ones? Your future is just beginning."

"Master!!"

"Everyone... Thank you so much. I'm leaving Wendy and Carla in your care." With those final words, Roubaul, too, turned into radiant specks of light and vanished into the sky.

"Master!!!" Wendy collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down her face.

"Don't cry, Wendy..." Noel gently patted the weeping girl's head.

"But... but... Noel..."

"Don't let yourself be consumed by sorrow. Master Roubaul wanted you to be happy, so you must stay strong and keep smiling. We'll share this sadness together. Come to Fairy Tail," Noel said softly, his gentle eyes watching over Wendy.
