Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 476: Release the bats Part 1
Before the last explosion went off, Uriel and company were already a few blocks from Mark's nightclub. They wanted to get as far away from the incident as possible before they called the rangers. Explaining the situation was something beyond their ability and getting caught for participating in what seemed to be a terrorist attack inside the city was against everyone's interest.
"Why did you do that!? You could have killed us!" Tina shouted without even keeping a semblance of her calm and soft spoken girl. She wanted to keep appearances in front of Uriel, even though he already knew about her true personality, but his reckless actions didn't make it easy.
"Calm down, It was completely safe. I didn't actually forget about the explosives." Uriel lied through his teeth. With so many unexpected events and revelations, not once did Uriel think of Miss Dragonfang and Longlegs, who were tasked with placing explosives in the ceiling to let the sunlight inside the building in order to weaken the vampires.

"What about Mister Mark?" Asked the tracker in the group.
"Do I know you?" Uriel asked after finally hearing her voice which sounded familiar, though her appearance didn't ring any bells.
"I don't think so, Mister Raider." Replied Kristina, the woman who became a huntress thanks to Uriel, though she didn't know him by name and his appearance also changed too much for her to recognize him.
"She's just a tracker, her trait allows her to follow any energy signature to its source. Also, don't call him Raider, his name is Sage," Tina scoffed and then continued. "in fact, it's best if you don't even speak to him and just limit to do your job."
"Yes, miss Tina." Kristina lowered her gaze and began channeling flux throughout her body.
Thanks to his mystical sense, Uriel was able to notice how different it was from most hunters who focused their flux energy in the part of their bodies that changed the most after acquiring their trait. He also didn't miss how Kristina began sniffing the air, just like Luna or Amy did when they were tracking people or cryptids, though Kristina didn't have any beast-like features.
"It's just as I feared, the creature we're looking for is in the sewers." Kristina let out in a sigh and proceed to open the first sewer cap she saw and the fumes that came out were so intense Tina was forced to pinch her nose to prevent herself from puking. Uriel had no such problem, though, since the slums didn't smell much better than the sewers and he was accustomed to that stench.
"Are you guys coming or not?" Uriel asked.
"I think I'll pass" Soulfire said apologetically.
"Why did you even follow us then?"
"I don't know, when I heard the explosions I kind of... panicked."
"Yeah, well, get lost then." Uriel growled at Soulfire. He had enough of handsome cowards for a lifetime and didn't want to spend any time with him unless strictly necessary. Soulfire also didn't want or need to enter into such a foul place, though that wasn't the case for Kristina and Tina.
The former was the one tasked with finding the horror rank nosferatu and the latter joined to support Uriel and also witness the fight. It was risky, especially since she didn't know if Uriel was strong enough to face that creature, but if he failed her life would be over anyways and she figured it was better to go down fighting rather than being a helpless victim.
The sewers were a lot broader than Uriel expected and way smellier than Tina anticipated, but Kristina knew how to traverse it with ease. She knew better than to walk behind leaking pipes or drains and she was also able to walk with ease in spite of how dark it was which surprised Uriel.
"Keep your eyes peeled for rats." Kristina warned once they ventured a little further in the sewers.
"Rats!? There are rats in here!? I thought the air was poisonous for animals..." Tina shrieked but then composed herself.
"There's all kinds of creatures down here, though I wouldn't call them animals. They're all cryptids and if we're not careful, we might bump with something even nastier than the vampire."
After his experience at the hospital, Uriel knew not to blindly trust his mystical sense anymore, though the fact that he was able to detect some beast rank cryptids at a distance brought him some sense of security.
It didn't take him long to figure out that Kristina too was able to sense enemies from a distance, since she lead them through the safest route even when it meant taking some convoluted turns to remain on track.
Tina, though, didn't appreciate her efforts to guide them through the safest path as she wanted to get done with things as soon as possible. Even if rushing through the sewers meant her death, every second she spent in that place felt like hell.
"Ewww!" Tina screamed when something wet fell on her shoulder. It was a black gooey substance that stuck to her clothes and when she attempted to remove it, it got stuck in her hand instead.
"If you can't even stay quiet while on a hunt, you should quit being a hunter." Uriel glared at Tina. It was so dark she wouldn't have noticed if not for the slight amount of flux energy coming off from Uriel's eyes.
Although he wouldn't admit it to anyone, the loud noise she made managed to startle him since he was already on high alert and when he realize she just creamed because she got dirty, he felt angry at her for the first time.
"I won't do such thing! I'm a heavenly rank hunter and..."
"In the end you and I both know you're just a rich girl with no qualifications as a hunter and you would have died in your first incursion had it not been for the special treatment you got."
"It doesn't really matter how I got here, all that matters is that I'm here and I'm the only help you got," Tina wanted to continue bickering, but she started walking funny and her words became entangled. "does anybody else feel dizzy?" Tina continued until she suddenly fell to the muddy floor.
"No way! She said she was a heavenly rank hunter, she wasn't supposed to be affected by the miasma." Kristina said after rushing in aid of Tina who had trouble breathing.
"It's not that, I think we found what we're looking for." Uriel said after confirming the presence of a cryptid nearby by attempting to turn on a flashlight. Then, he bought two gas lanterns, one for him and one for Kristina and after lighting them up the nature of the viscous substance was revealed.
"What's that substance? I thought it was poop..." Kristina asked with curiosity.
"That's not the case, this is vampire saliva. It inhibits regeneration and causes some damage, though she should be fine in a short while." Uriel explained as he removed as much of the gooey substance from Tina's shoulder.
"I don't remember ever seeing something like that before and I've spent a long while surrounded by vampires."
Uriel didn't bother explaining her the difference between cryptids and hybrids or how dangerous that substance was. To him, the nature of the substance that infected Tina wasn't as important as its meaning.
"Thanks for your help, please take her back to her comfy life in the rich society."
"But you need me to locate the nosferatu." Kristina insisted, not wanting to leave Uriel stranded in the maze like sewers.
"There's no need for that, they already know we're coming. Hurry up, I'll hold them off." Said Uriel as he summoned his revolver, though he inwardly lamented himself for not having Thunderbolt Iron with him anymore.
Kristina took Tina in her arms and went back on her steps carrying her. When the loud noise of the magnum being fired in a closed environment reached her ears, she turned her head even though she knew Uriel wasn't following. But when she heard a thunderous roar that shook the sewers, she dropped all of her worries and focused on fleeing only.
She couldn't recognize creature by the sound it made. Judging by its flux energy signature it had to be way stronger than her and Tina together, but even if she wasn't able to feel the intense power emitted by the creature, the roar alone was enough to shake every bone in her body.
She had no means to know that the creature responsible for the wave of flux energy that reached her and the beastly roar meant no threat to her. It wasn't the horror rank nosferatu they were hunting nor was it one of the creatures that often lurked in the sewers, it was Uriel's jaguar spirit seeking out for vengeance.
During the last encounter with the horror rank nosferatu, the Jaguar spirit was mortally wounded and only survived thanks to Uriel storing it inside his trait and sharing his flux energy with the Jaguar. But now things were different and nothing could stop the ancient spirit's from getting its revenge.
