Depraved Hero's Path: Enslaved Monster Girl Harem In The Apocalypse!-Chapter 46: Undying Archives Of Old: Tour Guide
Chapter 46 - Undying Archives Of Old: Tour Guide
'Roman... Greek... Egyptian...' Elijah thought as he walked through the Ancient History gallery, his attention split between the exposed pieces, the System Messages rising from using the Eye Of Truth Skill, and Zarath.
"So it would seem like someone imbued their Mana into these objects." She explained. "The source of the Mana in each of these objects is the same. However, it's more like..."
"Like the pieces fed on that Mana and turned it into their own." Elijah completed her sentence.
"Exactly!" Zarath nodded. "The Mana was imbued initially to wake them up."
"Just like how we were woken up by the System and the beginning of the Apocalypse." He muttered with narrow eyes. "My body was lighter right away, and I could heal faster. Katherine had a Mana Stat from the start."
"I suppose it's similar, yes." Zarath looked around. "It's creepy though. So many sources of Mana that aren't alive..."
"If a Demon calls something creepy then I guess I should be careful."
"You should! I can tell that these objects are staring at me..."
"Staring at you? Well, who wouldn't? Look at that body."
"You..." Zarath was almost whimpering. "You say that but then refuse me..."
"What do you mean by them staring at you?"
"..." Zarath pressed her lips together. 'Straight to business, huh?' She thought with a sigh. "I can tell that I won't be able to interfere."
"A Barrier will be created, then."
"Something like that, yes. It's strange though..." Zarath brought a hand to her chin.
"What is?"
"Well, the fact that..."

"This is nice." Katherine whispered to herself as she walked through the Art gallery, her gaze moving from right to left. "This place would usually be filled with people and tourists. Now, I have it all to myself." Her strolling slowly turned into skipping. "I'll look for those I like the most. Hope they won't be too difficult to clear." Katherine thought for a moment. "Wait, this is different than the Natural History section. If I claim a Relic here... I would be getting a painting. A super expensive painting..." She approached the closest pieces and squinted. "I don't have the eyes to tell their worth." Katherine sighed. "Guess I'll just take the one I like most."
She already knew exactly which painting she wanted.
"I hope it'll have enough Mana... Wouldn't want to bring something worthless."
Katherine made a mental note about the tapestry exposed above her, on the ceiling.
'That one has the most Mana for now. Most of them have less Mana than the Goblin Chief, but that one... It probably has as much Mana as I do.' She scratched her cheek with a finger. 'Hm, I'm sure it would have an amazing ability, but Elijah did tell me to be careful.' She nodded. 'Plus, he told me to choose what I want.' Katherine nodded again. 'I'll just go with my favorite.' Another nod.

Sniff-
Sniff- Sniff-
"Um..." Léa shyly walked closer. "Marianne...?"
"Yes?" The latter turned around. "What is it?"
"Why, uh... Why are you smelling the dodo?"
Marianne's gaze moved from the dodo to Léa repeatedly.
"It's not a real one." She explained. "It's a life-size model."
"No... I... I know that." The confused Léa frowned. "I'm asking why you're smelling it?"
Indeed, Marianne had been leaning forward towards the exposed life-size model dodo, sniffing as if it were a flower.
"Huh...? Because of my Mana Sense Skill?" Marianne seemed even more confused by the questioning.
"D-Do you need to smell things for it to work?"
"Um, no."
"Then...?"
"I don't need to smell things for it to work, but I can smell things with it." Marianne explained. "The Magic Sense is like a sixth sense that's imbued in my other senses. I can see Mana if I focus, I can smell it, touch it... I can even hear it."
"That's wild." Léa re-adjusted her glasses. "And very cool."
"Yeah," Marianne muttered, taking the life-size dodo in her hands and staring at it for a moment. "I wonder if I can taste Mana as well..."
"..."
"Hm?" Marianne raised her gaze suddenly. "I think it's going to rain."
"You've been saying that for a while and it hasn't. Plus..." Léa gulped. "We're in a building."
"I can always tell when it's going to rain." Marianne scratched her cheek, staring at the ceiling. "It was always my super power. My sixth sense."
"I guess some people are more sensible to the tiny rain drops and notice that it's raining sooner." Léa muttered. 'Though I guess that kind of sensibility is what could turn into Affinity and Potential post-Apocalypse...'
"If it's not raining, that means someone is watching us." Marianne immediately took out her Iron Sword. "Be careful."

"You're right. That doesn't seem to make sense.
"That's what I thought." Zarath nodded. "Why separate the Party when the objects will prohibit outside interference anyways?"
"I guess we should ask whoever is hiding." Elijah said before turning around at once. "I can tell you're there."
"...?" Zarath raised an eyebrow.
"Come on." He stared at the dark corner of the room. "Yes, I'm talking to you. No, it wasn't a fluke."
The two waited for something to appear...
'A Nascent Seer, huh? Of course, she would notice me.'
Elijah scratched his head.
"Will you come out already?" He stared at the corner.
Suddenly, chuckling echoed from behind the two.
Elijah immediately felt a shiver go down his back.
'Shit-' He cursed internally, turning around as fast as he could.
What the two found was...
"Nyan~" A woman exclaimed as she dropped from the ceiling, curling her hands like paws. "You were close~"
"Oh, you're cute." Elijah commented, noticing her tail and cat-like ears..
'So that's Master's taste, huh?'
"Why, thank you!" She smiled. "I love people who get how cute I am~"
"Then you're going to love me."
'Oh, hell no, Master... Not in front of me... Not like this...'
"Nahahaha, you're funny! Elijah, right?"
"Yeah, Elijah works." He nodded.
She crossed her arms before rasing a hand on which to rest her chin while letting her hips drop to the side.
"The Depraved Hero~" The cat hummed.

"The one and only." Elijah said with a smile.
Zarath gulped.
'Both are smiling but... They're both ready to attack at any moment-'
"Wait, you're wearing a suit." Elijah said with a frown.
"I am. Do you like girls in suits?"
"I do, but that's beside the point." He scratched his head and let out a sigh. "Are you the guide around here?"
"Nyahaa~"
"So..."
Elijah scratched his chin.
"I don't speak cat, but I'll take that as a yes."
