Chapter 863: Chapter 550: Orthodox_2

He thought for a moment, then asked, "Can the hangar we built in Zone N7 withstand this super typhoon?"

The assistant beside him reminded in a low voice, "All the staff in the hangars of Zone N7 have already been evacuated, sir."

Andrei glared at him.

He could, of course, understand what that meant—it was telling him "no."

If the hangar really could withstand the typhoon, the staff wouldn’t have all evacuated. They might even have taken shelter inside.

Knowing it couldn’t withstand the storm was why they had evacuated so quickly.

"Why?" Andrei demanded.

"Under normal circumstances, Zone N7 doesn’t experience typhoons, sir," said the assistant.

An area that doesn’t get typhoons doesn’t need to be built to withstand a super typhoon.

And this had been approved by Andrei back then.

Andrei silently took a few breaths of oxygen.

"After this typhoon passes, whether the hangars in that area have collapsed or not, don’t bother repairing them—tear them down and rebuild! They must not be inferior to the Ancestral Factory’s warehouses!"

"Yes, sir."

Zone N7.

The evacuation of Feng Shou and his team was not going smoothly.

This time, there was a rush, but they had prepared the important things. They also carried weapons.

In times of emergency, many areas were in a state of anarchy, with the usual order thrown into chaos.

And at such times, those trapped within might do things they had never even thought of under normal circumstances.

Indeed, this was the case. If they hadn’t been a deterrent with their armed presence, it wouldn’t just be the elderly and children getting hurt—their vehicles would have been stolen!

But this was not their current worry.

Feng Shou looked ahead at the road jammed with vehicles, then at the others in the group.

All had looks of defeat.

The evacuation was moving much slower than they had anticipated.

If there had been enough roads, clear and unobstructed, they would indeed have had ample time to reach safety.

But there weren’t.

The roads they had traveled for many years, those familiar lanes, had all become incredibly unfamiliar.

Order had collapsed.

Conditions were terrible, with panicked people fleeing everywhere, and even worse, there were animals running for their lives outnumbering the people, making it too dangerous to roll down the car windows.

Total chaos!

Every evacuation route was difficult to move through, being completely stuck meant abandoning the vehicle.

An elderly member of the group made a suggestion, and after discussing it, they reluctantly left the clogged road for a less noticeable trail.

They crossed over wild crops taller than a person and saw a cluttered path of mud and stones that a vehicle could pass through.

Once this had been a route frequented by many vehicles, but it was forgotten when wider roads were constructed, unknown to outsiders.

The young people like Feng Shou were also unaware of it.

Regardless, this long-abandoned trail gave them a chance for survival.

It was evident that during the mass evacuation, some people had passed this way; obstacles had been hastily cleared, and the vegetation growing on the pathway had been crushed.

The road was uneven, making driving difficult and slow, but it was still much better than being stuck on the thoroughfare.

They now had to move as far away as they could, one step at a time.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before they found the route ahead was blocked with more vehicles.

The rain had started to fall.

At a slightly elevated location nearby, there were buildings irregularly constructed. The people inside had long since evacuated, the windows were smashed, and there were signs of objects being moved.

The buildings were likely empty now.

Because they were full of birds.

The light was dim, and it was hard to see how many birds squeezed inside, what kinds they were, or if there were other dangerous animals.

A couple of crows flew in, causing a moment of chaos, their noisy cawing subsiding after a while.

Feng Shou seemed to feel the gaze of the birds hiding inside, watching from the dark.

It was eerie.

"The birds that didn’t fly away with the flock have already gone into hiding," an elderly person in the car commented as he gazed outside.

"We can’t stay here any longer!" Feng Shou said to the people in the other vehicles.

They needed to find shelter as soon as possible!

"The car can’t pick up speed! Not far ahead it’s jammed again, and there’s no way to the side!" another young man said.

"There’s no time left, abandon the car, just find a place to hide! All those vehicles up ahead are empty," someone suggested.

"Where can we hide nearby? Those broken houses can’t withstand anything!"

"The mobile signal is starting to deteriorate, hurry and think of something!"

"Is there an Ancestral Factory warehouse nearby? Now, aside from the government’s refuge points, the most reliable places are the Ancestral Factory’s warehouses!"

"There aren’t any here! I checked during the traffic jam earlier!"

"So what do we do?!"

Being stuck here was a dead end; they could only leave their cars behind.

But where to after abandoning the vehicles?

The map on the phone was very blurry, giving only a general idea, and many things were not displayed.

The places they could check were all quite a distance away.

Did they really have to go to the deserted village houses nearby and compete for shelter with the animals?

"If only we knew earlier, we wouldn’t have run this far, just find a place near home to hide."

Under such dire circumstances, negative emotions accumulated, leaving few people calm.

But there was no time for arguments.

Feng Shou asked everyone to calm down, then made a phone call.

Back in the car, Feng Shou received a few words of caution from his grandmother, then looked up Feng Yi’s number and dialed it.

The call was quickly answered.

"Is the evacuation going smoothly?" Feng Yi asked.

"Not really," Feng Shou wiped the rainwater off his face. "Brother Yi, can you help me with something?"

"Tell me," Feng Yi said.
