Chimaera's Conquest: The Legend Of The Devourer-Chapter 263: True Chimaera (3)
Chapter 263: True Chimaera (3)
Adrian slowly regained consciousness, his body aching as he woke up in the cold storage. The air was frigid, making his warm breath visible. The room temperature must have dropped quite a bit for that to happen. However, he didn’t feel the least bit cold.
’God, it hurts...’
As Adrian forced himself off his ass, the flash of pain crossed his mind. But it was nothing compared to the shock he received by seeing all the blood and vomit around him. Even pieces of his skin were scattered, making it seem like a human balloon had been popped inside the room.
He glanced down at himself and saw that his body had undergone a dramatic transformation. His muscles were more defined as if armour plating had covered his body. His skin became more rigid, and he could feel a new, raw power coursing through his veins.
Curious about his new form, he ignored the pain and ran around the cold storage. Not only had he grown faster, but his balance felt different, and his form was more stable.
But that wasn’t all. Even his senses were sharper than before. Every sound and scent in the cold storage seemed to have been amplified and clearer.
Next, Adrian wanted to test his newfound strength, so he threw a series of punches into the air. Even his attacks were faster and more precise. The air whooshed with each strike, and the power behind his punches was far greater than he had ever felt.

"...is this for real?" Adrian mumbled.
<Of course it is.>
[The higher entity, The Blind Ruler of Justice, congratulates the User on their first evolution.]
[The higher entity, The Monkey Sage with a Golden Headband, nods and commends the User for achieving a rare feat.]
Numerous other entities wanted to congratulate Adrian, and through their sponsorships, he gained 43 unallocated stat points in addition to the upgrades he received after evolving.
Not wanting to delay viewing his stats further, Adrian hastily thanked the entities before opening the stats tab.

Adrian was blown away by his growth. Not only did his stats and skill levels increase, but the mana capacity of Fey’s core also improved significantly.
When it came to his stats, they were anything but typical for someone at level 30. They were more like those of a seasoned level 130 adventurer from Nexaria.
If Adrian were to utilise all the accumulated experience and stat points he had earned, he could quickly boost his capabilities to match those of a formidable level 140-150 warrior.
"What’s the point of holding back now?" Adrian smiled and selected yes.
In an instant, all the accumulated exp increased his level from 30 to 38.
[Due to the effect of the Enhanced Strength skill, the User’s strength has increased by 48 points.]
[Due to the effect of the Enhanced Agility skill, the User’s agility has increased by 48 points.]
"Six points for each time I level up? That’s a steal!"

"Got something to say?"
<These stats are nothing compared to your skill enhancements, Master. Not to forget about your sub-class selection.>
"My sub-class?"
<Yes! Every time a creature evolves, they are given the choice to select a sub-class. It may take a day or two for the sub-class selection quest to arrive.>
"...I learn something new every day."
As much as Adrian wanted to stay there and go through everything, the others would probably be worried about him.
’On top of that, I have no idea how long I’ve been out for. It’ll be better to leave and check all that later.’
As he was about to leave, Adrian realised he needed to find someone to clean up the gruesome mess in the storage room. He doubted the girls would appreciate their food supplies being kept in a space smeared with blood and gore.
"Maybe I should hire some house help," Adrian mumbled, leaving the storage. "Shinon must know a few people. Besides... I also need a new armour. Tasks keep piling on, don’t they?"
***
Adrian pushed open the cold storage door and stepped out, blinking against the sudden brightness. Like the rest of his senses, his eyesight was enhanced, and he had to squint until his eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness.
Sophia and Vesper were sitting on the island in the kitchen, chatting and enjoying some food. When Adrian walked in, they both jumped up in surprise.
Fenris’s reaction remained the same as she walked to Adrian, waging her tail. The large wolf licked Adrian’s face, making him laugh, before he turned his attention to the girls.
"What’s wrong?" Adrian asked, noticing their expressions. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Sophia and Vesper exchanged glances before pointing at him.
"Your hair!" Sophia exclaimed.
"And your forehead," Vesper added, still staring.
Adrian frowned, confused. "What are you talking about?"
Sophia approached him cautiously, touching his hair. "Your hair... it’s changed colour. And you have... horns?"
"Horns? You’re joking, right?" Adrian mumbled, hoping the girls were playing some prank on him.
Either way, he reached up to touch his forehead, and to his shock, he felt the small, hard protrusions of horns. Panicked, he quickly ran to find a mirror. When he looked at his reflection, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
His once blonde hair had turned to an ash grey, and two small horns extended from his temples.
"This can’t be real," he murmured, touching his hair and horns again to ensure he wasn’t imagining it. "What the hell!?"
