Killian had a deadpan look on his face as he faced the ridiculous situation that he was forced to put up. Kyrell that bastard and his bitch were right in front of his eyes and he couldn’t do anything. It was not the right time to act on his impulses. Their mate was pregnant and unconscious. He has to go back before she rouses. More than his anger or irritation, his mate mattered to him.

These insignificant beings were not worth his time and that was what he said out loud, "Enough of this" Everyone turned to him as he added, "Don’t waste your time with this nonsense, we are returning now"

Victor frowned as he took his glaring gaze away from Kyrell’s female and looked at Killian instead, "What has gotten you so worked up?" then he returned his gaze towards Alice and smirked sinisterly, "The fun part is just beginning" He wanted to rip that bitch’s face. She had dared to slap his mate...Well, his sweet girl seemed to have given it back right then and there as Naoh informed. His brave girl never disappointed him. She loved wholeheartedly and hated the same. Currently, Kyrell is receiving the latter part. Hatred.

"Victor..." Killian sighed feeling tired of the former’s attitude but before he could say more someone interrupted him

Alice with the Eagle guards behind her strode towards Kyrell before standing beside him, "Why did you come here, Kyrell?’’ her voice was mournful and delicate, "They are going on with those disrespectful words and you are staying silent, this cannot stand Your majesty" As soon as those words left her mouth the Eagle guards stepped forward guarding their king and the Queen.

"Just say the word, Your grace," said one of the guards glaring at Lyra’s mates, "We will make them pay for what they have done to you"

"Yes, my lord. A word, your orders are all we need"

"And what will you do with those orders?" Kyrell said stopping their chatter, "Defeat multiple immortal beastmen? First of all.....Did I say that you can speak?’’

The Guards paled as thier king added grimly, "Did I now?"

"No, Your Grace’’ they said together, voices meek and scared.

"Then why did you speak out of turn when I didn’t even give my permission to do so?’’ Kyrell suppressed his rising anger and asked, ’’How are you all getting trained? Did Nathan even approve of this?’’ His aide was not the one to let something like this go. Nathaniel was carefree most of the time but when it came to guard training and the tribe’s security, he never lacked and let none lack. He was particular with his drills and sought perfection which the guards right now seemed to have forgotten. They not only acted without his orders but were forcing him to make a decision.

Alice glanced at Kyrell as sweat trickled down her back. She wished this matter would end before it escalated further. The guards that she had brought worked under her father, Elder Edgar. Her father was an ambitious man even though he disapproved of some of the things she did to gain power. Unlike her forceful and upfront efforts, her father used more subtle methods to further his influence in the tribe. He trained some tribesmen by himself and made them loyal to the throne by convincing them that he was doing the same. The guards had no reason to not follow him as they thought that her father was loyal to the throne himself. It was a slow tactic like a trickle of water on a boulder. ’Elder Edgar is Loyal so we should heed his words and serve the throne’ this was thier motto. But poor beasts didn’t know that they were serving a new master. Her father.

So she didn’t want Kyrell to delve deeper into this to not let him figure out her father’s involvement. Not here of all the places. Hence she said, "They are just doing their duty protecting you, your majesty. It is their loyalty that has made them step out of the line’’ Then she glanced at the guards and looked at them sternly, "Apologize right now!’’

"We apologize your grace!’’ they didn’t have to hear it twice as they immediately apologized by bending thier knees and bowing their heads.

Kyrell wanted to ask more about this matter but decided against it. ’Not now’ he said to himself. This was not his priority right at this moment.

"Killian, I apologize on behalf of them...’’ Kyrell shifted his attention towards Killian, "I will make sure to discipline them...so"

"I have zero interest in you or your guards’’ Before Kyrell could talk more, Killian interrupted him, "I don’t care about you or that female standing beside you, so get lost from here. You are not welcome in the snake tribe"

That ticked Kyrell in the wrong way, "And who are you to say that? The snake king?"

"I have come here on behalf of Blake" Killian replied confidently, "And he doesn’t want you anywhere near his tribe so Fuck off"

"Are you two done?’’ This time Victor spoke as he looked at both of them with bored faces, "Killian why are you here?’’

Killian turned to the Vulture, "To stop you from doing something reckless that in turn might hurt our mate"

"What do you mean by that?’’ asked Lucas who was silent until now.

Kaizer too perked up as soon as he heard about Lyra. Till now he had no interest in participating in the banter that they were having with the Eagle king. He was here to look after his bunny’s mates. To save them if at all a fight started. But it looked like these men had more interest in chatting than fighting. Mated males sure had more patience. He could see that all of them were withholding themselves from acting out and causing a scene. Beastmen are impulsive, they exchange fists before speaking and shift before negotiating.

Victor had a frown on his face as he asked, "How does killing that bastard hurt our mate?’’ He didn’t understand one bit. Why were all trying to say that he was impulsive and wrong? Was it a crime to avenge his mate? He didn’t think so but what he heard next made him contemplate.

"She is pregnant" that was all it took to get everyone’s attention. Lucas’ eyes went wide in surprise meanwhile Victor stumbled. Kaizer didn’t know how to react and heard Killian add, "All of us should be with her right now’’ then he looked at Kyrell, "This bastard can wait"

In the next instant, Kyrell looked perplexed as Killian and the others left through the former’s portal. He too heard it. His Lyra was pregnant, he too wanted to go and check on her. He wanted to see her with his own eyes and confirm that she was healthy. He had heard that her last pregnancy was hard so he wanted to make sure that at least this one was not the case. However, it seemed like he should use another method to meet her. Seeking her through her mates was impossible.
