Beauty in the beast world-Chapter 271: Victor’s tribe
Chapter 271: Victor’s tribe
[Snake Castle]
After discussing with Killian about the matter regarding the Eagle tribe and Kyrell, Lyra felt like she had taken off the things that were weighing her down. Her heart felt light and that in turn improved her mood. Leaving Killian’s room, She happily skipped toward the living room to only slip her step while walking. The floor probably due to the cold weather, had become extremely slippery making her almost fall.
Lyra closed her eyes and waited for the impact to hit her but did not feel anything at all even as time passed. Instead of that, she felt a strong arm encircling her waist before pulling her in a certain direction. Then she felt the side of her face pressing against a familiar hard and muscular chest.
With a sigh of relief, she opened her closed eyes before looking up at the one that had caught her, "Thank you" freewёbnoνel.com
"You’re welcome, Sweet girl" Victor replied before playfully tapping her nose earning a glare from her. One thing his mate hated the most was someone touching her nose and all of them took this as a chance to annoy her. It was very fun eliciting a cute reaction from her.
Lyra gave him a hard look but decided to not make a big fuss as she had more important things to discuss. She let him drag her to the nearest sofa before both of them sat on it with Lyra on Victor’s lap.
A smile perked up her face seeing her mate cling to her. He was such a baby. She leaned against his chest before parting her lips, "I have something to discuss with you"
Victor straightened his position indicating that he was hearing and noticing this, Lyra continued her words, "After that incident with the Eagle tribe, it greatly troubled me when I thought of the Vulture tribe that was residing in the former. The eagle tribe seemed too hostile to even us so I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of them mistreating the Vulture tribe" This had been in her mind for the longest time. As soon as she returned from Kyrell’s tribe, this was the first thought that came to her.
Whereas, Victor on the other side couldn’t care less about his tribe. The reason he became the king in the first place was because he wanted the higher position that came with becoming one and also in order to not fall behind Lyra’s other mates. And when he has children in the future, he wanted the latter to have a tribe that they could call as their own. It was his selfish desire to give his progeny a stable future as well as a firm position in the Beast City and this was possible only when he was the king. Vulture tribe...they never felt close to him because of the things his father put him through while he was staying in the same tribe. No one had tried to stop his father’s atrocities and he still felt betrayed by that. The tribe elders had great power and the witch masters, well at least they could have done something but didn’t.
All of these combined left a scar on him that would probably never heal. But yet he wanted his tribe’s support to in return aid his mate. The snake tribe and scorpion tribe although strong are only considered ferals by the Beast City. One mistake from each of them can put all of them in jeopardy. Now, with Kyrell and Eagle tribe’s support gone, Victor didn’t want to take any chance on his mate’s safety. For now, the Lion tribe, Silver Wolf tribe, and his tribe were the only ones that could truly support his mate.
As soon as this kind of thought came to his mind, Victor created a temporary shelter for his tribe with the help of Lucas and Noah’s tribe. Hence he was confident in answering his mate now, "After that incident with Kyrell, the eagle tribe drove our tribe out of their place" Lyra’s face hardened hearing his words. What was she expecting? This was very likely to happen as soon as the Eagle King turned his back on her. But here she was stupidly having some kind of hope for the man she once liked. Her Kyrell was long gone and that was the reality she should come to terms with as soon as possible. She was not some little girl that could drown in heartbreak over a man that dumped her. She has responsibilities far more important than her silly little heart and providing a safe home for the Vulture tribe was one of them.
"How about the Vulture tribe residing here? Now that it is cold season, all of the snake beastmen fall into slumber leaving the females in possible danger" Lyra said, "With stray beasts inside the city, I think it will be safer if both the tribes stay together. Offcourse this is only my suggestion because deciding for your tribe in the end comes down to you" As a king, Victor would know best for his tribe or that was what Lyra thought.
Unlike her, Victor was okay with his tribe not having a permanent home. It was actually advantageous like that as it would be difficult for enemies to attack them when they were always on the move. On the other hand, this could pose as something uncomfortable for females of his tribe and as well as to the older beastmen that couldn’t travel often. And as for his mate’s suggestion, it did make sense for his tribe to reside in the snake tribe but convincing Blake would be difficult. Just as he was musing about this, his mate blurted out as though reading his mind.
"I can talk to Blake about this if you want" Lyra was alright with discussing this with Blake as long as this could benefit her tribesmen. Both the Snake tribe and the Vulture tribe were her responsibility as she was their queen. She wanted to help them as much as she could.
Victor smiled at his adorable and understanding mate. He gave a kiss on her cheek showing his appreciation before saying, "I think this is a great idea, Sweet girl, and thank you for thinking about our tribe. However, I will be the one to talk to Blake about this" he didn’t want to force Blake into this matter using his mate. The latter would never say no if their mate asked him but that felt unfair. Victor wanted to do this for his tribe. This was the least he could do for the ones that had accepted him as their king without a single qualm and for the ones that followed him to the beast city just because he ordered. After all, there would be no king without his people.
