Beastmen Love-Chapter 214: Sign of Hope

After almost three years of Xzan and Dante’s deaths, life in the United Tribes is peaceful for its people, but hard for Astri’s family. Yuki is twelve years old, and she’s becoming a beautiful female, already calling the attention of several males, but none dare to come near her because of her fathers, brothers, and also because having a spouse is the last thing she wants to think about.

The age to look after spouses is 18 years old, even though many females end up starting to look after spouses at 13 or 14 years old. Yuki only cares about taking care of Atlas, Albus, and Aurora, who are only 6 and 7 years old. She teaches them things she remembers that her mother used to teach. Hopin was 9 years old when Astri’s soul was broken, and now he’s 17 years old.

Hopin is the leader of his brothers, taking most responsibilities of chores and also teaching Albus and Atlas to protect themselves. Hopin became a beastman that others would never imagine he would. At only 17 years old, he already has four marks, not to mention that he’s a Rabbit.

Elias and Kai are also seen as the strongest of their age, because with only 12 years old they have two marks. Normally, males start getting marks at 16, but at a very young age, they have marks that even adults still have. Skalven and Galion trained them a lot, by their own requests, and that’s why they became strong faster, too.

Elias is the one who looks like Wayde the most, and Kai has the smile of his mother. Elias likes to tie part of his hair in a bun, and Kai lets it free. Both have light silver hair like their father, and the length is just under their shoulders. Hopin’s light gray hair is also longer, and he ties it in a ponytail.

Yuki’s hair is long, and she dresses like her mother used to dress, perpetuating the idea that her body will only be seen in cases of emergencies or by her spouses in the future. Aurora also has long hair, but red like Lee’s, and also dresses like her mother. Albus is tall for his age, but also has more energy than the others. He has his hair cut short because he had a hard time keeping it brushed and out of his face, and he dresses like his father, Lee. Atlas dresses like his father, and his hair is also long.

Atlas started to learn his powers with his father, Claud, when he was 5 years old, because he wanted to help his fathers somehow. When he started to understand that only he, Claud, and Kangki could have powers similar to his mother’s made him want to learn and try to help. However, he also can’t find his mother’s energy, and it can be very frustrating for him sometimes.

After one more day of not finding his mother’s energy, Atlas goes to the children’s bedroom. It is where he and all his brothers and sisters stay. He throws himself on the bed, frustrated and tired.

Yuki could sense that he didn’t have success again, and went to sit on his side. Atlas puts his arm over his eyes and stays quiet.

"Don’t pressure yourself, Atlas. Father Claud has hundreds of years of experience, and it’s hard for him. Father Kangki has thousands of years, and it’s hard for him." Yuki says.

"I know... I just want my mother back.. I was young when her soul was broken, but I slightly remember we lived happily.." Atlas says, without removing his arm from his face.

Yuki smiles sadly and passes her hand on his head.

"I just wish I could do more. I have powers, but it feels like useless!"

"Don’t say that, Atlas. Your powers are more than helpful. After fathers Dante and Xzan’s deaths, our fathers had to send fewer search parties because fathers Kangki and Claud couldn’t keep watching all of them at once and help when it was needed. You’re helping them now. You’re doing a lot." Hopin wisely says.

Atlas sighs. Yuki lies down on his side and hugs him.

"You make everyone proud, brother. And mother will be the most proud when she’s back." Yuki says.

Atlas hugs his sister and relaxes. Atlas is only 7 years old, but already feels so much pressure on his back. Hopin knows that Astri wouldn’t like to know that Atlas has so much on his back as a child, but there’s nothing anyone can do. It would be unfair to any of them if they were stopped from doing what they want.

Aurora goes to Atlas, too, and hugs him, too. Aurora turned out to be very sensitive, like her mother and sister. However, she didn’t have a childhood full of playing and fun like Yuki, Elias, and Kai had. Atlas, Aurora, and Albus could play with their brothers and sister, but they didn’t play with their mother and their parents never had playful energies, even though they forced smiles to try to be the best father they could be.

Astri is traveling the oceans with Kenzou, Shinkou, and Biggie. And now, a little male Ookitsune called Reigan, which means ’Mystic Sight’. He doesn’t have exactly the same eyes as Astri, but his eyes are a mix of gold and purple. His fur is more light blond than gray, showing that he will have more traces of his mother than his father. Kenzou says that it’s good not to look like Shinkou because Reigan would be ugly.

During the trip, they stopped on several islands to spend a little time. And Astri had Reigan on land.

With Biggie’s constant presence around the ship made the trip always safe. Since Astri’s energy is not complete, she doesn’t call anyone’s attention.

Kenzou and Shinkou are always happy when they watch Astri playing with Reigan. Even though he’s very young and does not understand things entirely, she always tells him stories of his brothers and other fathers.

Shinkou can’t deny he loves to have Astri all for himself. That made them have a cub easily and fast, but he knows that she won’t never stop searching for her family.

One day, Astri calls Biggie by tapping the water some times, but Biggie doesn’t come to her as usual. And she finds that weird. She tries again,n and he still doesn’t come. She shrugs her shoulders, thinking that he might be hunting. Nature is not warning her of any danger.

She waits for some minutes and then tries calling Biggie again, but he doesn’t answer. She finds that weird, and then she tries again. Then two tentacles come to the surface holding two males, startling Astri and Kenzou at first.

Astri looks at who was in the tentacles and gasps in amazement.

"SHAN!! HAWA!!"

They look at Astri, and when they recognize her, they gasp in amazement.

"ASTRI!!!"

That’s when the tentacles let them go. Shan and Hawa jump on the ship and run to Astri. She hugs them, so happy to find them.

"I’m so happy to see you, guys!" She says, hugging them and jumping happily.

"That’s why Biggie was behaving strangely." Hawa says.

Biggie saw Hawa and Shan swimming on their beast forms and then went after them. He tried to convince them to follow him; he motioned to them and called them in different ways.

They thought Biggie just wanted to play, but Biggie was making weird movements. When they gave up on trying to understand, they started to swim away and made Biggie angry.

Biggie grabs them with his tentacles. Even though they tried to return to human form to escape the tentacles, Biggie didn’t let them go.

"You are stupid!! Yes, you will come with me!" Biggie says, angrily.

Shinkou and Kenzou can’t understand the language Astri is talking to Shan and Hawa, so they stay quiet and happy that Astri found people she knows. Of course, Shinkou, with a hidden jealousy, gave them some clothes to cover themselves.

Hawa and Shan looked at the weird clothes that looked like curtains, not knowing how to use it, and simply tied them around their wrists to cover their erogenous parts.

Shinkou and Kenzou looked at each confused.

"Kenzou, Shinkou, these are Shan and Hawa. They speak a different language from you and have a different culture in how they dress." Astri presents Shan and Hawa.

"I’m recording that people from the sea dress differently. It’s because it’s been so long, I didn’t see that I got confused." Kenzou says.

"These are Kenzou and Shinkou. And my little Reigan. Kenzou found me and helped me. I met Shinkou a bit later, and he also decided to come and help me. Do you know what happened to me?" Astri presents Kenzou, Shinkou, and Reigan, and asks what was on her mind since the beginning.

"All Aquaterra knows what happened to you. Claud came to talk to Queen Deanora a day after what happened to you. He asked for help to look after you. Queen Deanora set search parties in every direction we knew about and talked to people we knew to try to find you. We’ve been looking for you for years! We finally found you!! I can’t believe we could finally find you!" Shan says and hugs her again happily.

"We’re around five days from Aquaterra. Yes, he keeps in touch with the Queen. Not every day, but from time to time, he talks to her." Shan answers.

Astri gives a massive relieved sigh.

"So happy to know. Now, let me explain what happened and what I know until now." She says.

They sit on the deck because inside is too small for all of them. Astri explains what happened.

"I spent some time in the darkness. I just didn’t imagine I spent years away. My soul could form a body again in the Spirit Tree Shrine, where Kenzou lived, because it was a very pure place. Very far from here. We’re traveling for more than 200 days already." She says.

"So.. you didn’t have a form for almost eight years? That’s why we never found you before. We don’t speak their language, but some mermen went there once but didn’t find anything about you around there." Hawa says.

"How long ago?" She asks.

"Maybe five years ago."

" I wasn’t there indeed. Maybe in spirit, but not in body." She says, and sighs. "I’m happy that soon we will meet the others. I miss them so much. Together we will find a way to complete my soul."

"Your beast form is at your castle. Maybe is the other part of your soul you’re talking about." Shan says.

"My beast form?"

"Yes. Claud said that everything that remained after what happened was your Pegasus form. He said that it had a very weak heartbeat, but it doesn’t wake up or move."

"That’s..great! That will make things way easier!" She happily says.
