Beastmen Love-Chapter 143: Realistic Objectives

Curiosity hits on Xzan after hearing Tyr.

"Lines?" Xzan asks Shung.

"They have two lines. One to sleep next to her and the other is to have her." Shung answers.

"Isn’t she the one who chooses her favorites?"

"No. Astri is not like this. She loves all her spouses. So she let them organize themselves to have her. My spouse started doing the same and we actually started living more peacefully." Shung explains and smiles at the end.

Xzan can’t deny that his mouth is filled with saliva, imagining that he could always have that special and beautiful female as long as he can wait for his turn and don’t have to fight for it.

"May I?" Astri asks, to call their attention to the subject again.

Kangki is holding himself on a tight leash so as not to murder Xzan because of his dirty thoughts. Claud is talking to Kangki in his mind to stay calm and not let his instincts get the hold of him.

"Thank you. There’s something that is worrying me the most. Until now we were keeping my identity and Claud’s concealed. Your powers too. These enemies are powerful and if you don’t act smarter, all of us will end up being discovered. And that is the most dangerous part of the situation for me."

That’s when the realization hits on them.

"Erm..Their powers?" Xzan asks.

Now they had to stop again to explain Astri’s influence on her spouses and the people around her.

Xzan sighs, holding his head, sitting on the sofa and trying to absorb everything.

"Someone as important... All this might turn against you." Xzan says and looks at Astri. "People will fight to have the chance to at least be close to you. You will be hunted if people learn about you."

"That’s not something new to bring us, smart ass." Koa rolls his eyes.

"But that can also be something good. If people learn about you, it will force people to evolve their thoughts and behavior to become better." Xzan ignores Koa.

"What do you mean?" Lee asks.

"Imagine it. You said males are changing here and not accepting just any female because they have her in mind as the best female, so other females will need to improve to be desired again. Learning about her powers will make the best come to find her. It’s risky, but still something that might be good."

"I understand what you’re saying. However, keeping her identity concealed is still the safest choice." Claud says.

Astri stands up and sighs putting a kettle with water on the stove.

"What I want you all to know is that everything happens for a reason. This invasion will teach us many things, whether people learn about us or not. Our secret will be revealed one day or another, many already know and they have been loyal to keep our secret. There will be bad people, but I don’t believe it will be the majority. My concerns are not of people learning what they can become if they get near me. My real concern is, are they ready for this? Are they ready for the changes? We must delay people learning about this not for concealing an eternal secret, but to nurture them to learn that Nature exists and accept it and not reject it." She explains, and all of them silently listen.

Claud sighs, understanding everything.

"What do you think, Kangki?" Claud asks.

"She’s right. Thinking that she will be concealed forever is not realistic. You kept hidden for hundreds of years, and still, it was common knowledge that you had powers. You kept hidden then because people weren’t ready and the chances of things turning against you were higher. Here is different. People are changing." Kangki answers.

"It’s true... I believe that my wish to keep her concealed is my spouse mind talking louder."

"That’s a completely different thing. If I do what I really wish, I would take her far away from all this. I couldn’t care less about those people, my only worry is her and the cubs."

The other spouses had to agree. Shung knew that Kangki was a Monster before, but now he can see how much Kangki has changed.

"I’m not Astri’s spouse to say anything, but what I know is that she’s important to all of us. I can’t agree with anything that might be too dangerous for her, because we need her in all ways. Our people don’t even know that if it wasn’t for her our tribes wouldn’t be this prosperous. If keeping her protected means exposing your powers if needed, then do it. And protecting our people is a way to protect her too." Shung says, showing his simplicity of mind.

Astri smiles and nods, bringing the tea kettle to the table, and sitting again.

"I think that Shung is right. Let’s work on a strategy we can avoid using our powers, but if it doesn’t work let’s not fear using them too." Lee says, agreeing.

The others agree too. After some minutes, Galion and Saul appear to join the meeting.

"I thought all the leaders were here." Xzan mentions watching those strong beastmen.

"They’re not leaders of tribes. They’re the leaders of our guards. They’re responsible for training new guards to protect Astri and our castle." Wayde answers.

"So we have two dragons. That’s amazing, they can take on several monsters at once." Xzan says more relieved.

"Galion is her personal guard and his main objective is taking her, and the cubs, away if the worst happens. And he’s here to help us think in a way so the worst does not happen." Claud answers.

Astri pulls a long parchment to draw the map of their territory and lets them use it to think about their strategies. She smiles happy enough with them working together and then goes to sleep.

Dieg goes to stay with her and Xzan can’t concentrate properly because he keeps imagining what might be happening in the bedroom.

The next day morning, Shung and Xzan were walking together and they spotted Astri working in the hospital. She was stitching wounds from a male’s back wearing a glove she made, at least trying to not make things worse even if she knows beastmen don’t get sick so easily.

"She knows medicine?" Xzan whispers to Shung.

"She and Claud are the best here. Occasionally she comes to help the tribe doctors." Shung answers. "Astri, can we talk?" Shung asks after they come closer.

"Sure. Let me finish this first." Astri answers still stitching the male.

Xzan noticed that the male was very happy that she was the one treating him and that made Xzan jealous. Koa arrives and waits for Astri with them.

"All done, big guy. Keep it clean. Come back in two days to remove the stitches." She says cleaning his back with a clean cloth and clean water. "In case you feel nauseous, hot, or not good in your stomach, come back immediately."

"All right. Thank you, Lady Astri.." He says, sitting.

"You’re welcome."

"I’m feeling a different stomach ache that I never felt before.. Can you tell me what it is?" He asks.

"What was the last thing you ate and when?" She asks.

"Roasted meat. Yesterday night."

"No."

"When was the last time you.. well, throw away the mud?" She asks, gesturing, and making all of them laugh.

"I think it’s been 4 days.."

"Lay down, please. With belly up. Careful with your back." She motions for him to lay back down.

He lays down, with a soft smile. Koa raises his eyebrow wondering if the guy is really sick. Astri takes a heavy fur sheet and covers his lower area. She got tired of seeing unmated males showing their happiness on their lower members, so she uses this thick fur sheet so she doesn’t keep seeing it.

She examines his belly pressing with her fingers and making slow circular movements.

"Does this hurt? Or is it uncomfortable?" She asks him.

"A little uncomfortable."

"Hum..." She keeps examining and he starts to wonder if it’s something serious. "What are your eating habits? What do you eat daily?" She asks.

"Meat.."

"Just that?"

"Yes. Is there something wrong with the way I roast the meat?"

"No. Or else you would be vomiting. In easy words, your tubes are full of poop. Meat is healthy, but eating only that is not so good. It can make you feel this way. Eat red fruits, like paya and rosy pearls. It helps break the meat in your belly, and will help you have a faster digestion." She says and stands up removes her gloves, throwing them in a bucket.

"Fruits.." He says, not very happy.

She chuckles and pats his shoulders.

"You will like them one day. Believe me, better eating them than pooping rocks. You will ask for mercy when it comes. Better stay healthy eating a few fruits in a day."

She releases her hair and starts to get ready to leave.

"Is that what it takes to be your male? I can eat all the fruits if so."

"I can show what it takes for your death, dog." Koa says promptly.

"Smooth. Good luck." She chuckles at the male.

Then she says she needs to go to the other doctors. The males on the line were waiting excitedly, wanting to be treated by her and they visibly got sad when they saw her walking away.

Koa and Astri link their arms and walk together with Xzan and Shung.

"What did you want to talk about with me, Shung?" Astri asks.

It’s been some time that something worries Shung and he feels that the best thing to do is expose his worries to who he believes is the best to solve the issue.
