Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 186: Discussion on mutated beast
Chapter 186: Discussion on mutated beast
"How do you plan to transport the supplies later?" Elena asked.
"I’ll return to the military base first and help them find a safe route to this location," the abbot explained.
"Once the path is secure, we’ll come back and collect everything."
He was certain that once the military learned about this promising supply source, they’d definitely move quickly to establish a connection.
But first, they had to ensure the route was safe.
"Alright then, I’ll wait for your update," Elena said with a small smile.
"Looking forward to a smooth cooperation."
"Likewise," the abbot nodded.
Then, after a pause, he asked, "By the way, are your shops planning to stay here long-term?"
"Yes," Elena replied.
"Unless something unexpected happens, we plan to stay for the time being."
"In that case, the military is always open to welcoming new residents. If you’re ever interested in relocating or want more security, just reach out to me. I’ll help you settle in at the base," Brother Elias added.
"I’ll think about it. If there’s nothing else, then that concludes our discussion," Elena said with a polite smile.
She was just about to call Butler Aki to guide Brother Elias out when he spoke up again.
"Wait—you mentioned defending? What exactly did you mean by that?" Brother Elias asked, his brows furrowed, still thinking about the heaven vision he had received.
Elena paused for a moment, choosing a useful words.
Since they might end up fighting the same mutated beast in the future, it was only right to give them a heads-up so they could prepare properly.
"Mutated beasts, plants... any living creature that’s begun to evolve unnaturally," she explained, her voice steady.
"They’re not like what you’re used to. Some are aggressive, others unpredictable—but all of them are dangerous. You need to stay alert."
Her calm tone only made the warning more serious.
Brother Elias gave a slow nod, whatever these things were, it was clear they were dangerous—and real.
"Have you heard about the mutated beast roaming this area? Did you really fight it?" he asked again, needing confirmation.
"You mean the mutated cat? Don’t mess with it—it’s way too dangerous. Just a friendly reminder," Elena warned, her tone serious.
That creature wasn’t just powerful—it was smart, fast, and hunted anything with spiritual energy.
Since Brother Elias was a spiritual vessel himself, he’d be a prime target if the beast sensed him.
"But if we don’t confront the mutated beast, it will only grow stronger," he said firmly, already thinking of the people in Camel Tower.
He planned to inform the military right away—someone had to protect the remaining survivors.
Humanity was thinning out fast, and if things continued like this, City A might soon become a ghost town.
"If we could defeat it, we would’ve done it already," Elena admitted.
"We fought it, yes—but it was far too strong. You’re right to be concerned, but even with power and numbers, it’s not easy to kill. And since you already know about it... You must know its weaknesses, right?" Elena asked.
"Yes," the abbot nodded.
"Their insides are fragile. If you strike the right spot, you can break through their defenses. But the most effective way is to destroy their internal organs."
"You’re not wrong," Elena replied. "But the mutated cat roaming around here is different."
"How so?"
"Its senses are sharper than normal—sight, smell, reflexes, everything is enhanced. And its healing ability is insane. To truly kill it, you’d need to destroy at least sixty percent of its body."
"That powerful? So regular guns are useless?"
"Exactly. Even heavy firepower barely slows it down. Missiles could work, but you’d have to hit the same spot over and over— Or."
The abbot leaned in slightly. "Or?"
Elena’s expression darkened. "Drop a nuclear bomb. That’s the only thing that can guarantee it stays dead."
In her past life, the military had been forced to bombard particularly powerful mutated beasts with heavy artillery—sometimes even using nuclear strikes.
While the beasts were eradicated instantly, the surrounding area was turned into a wasteland, unlivable and filled with toxic air.
"That..." Brother Elias frowned deeply.
The weight of Elena’s words sank in.
If it took that level of destruction to kill one, then the danger was beyond anything they had imagined.
Even planting explosives inside the creature wouldn’t be enough—unless they could destroy at least sixty percent of its body.
And with how fast it moved, how could they even get close?
"Oh, I almost forgot," Elena added with a sigh.
She hadn’t wanted to overwhelm the military or DUP with fear, but they needed to be prepared.
It would be far worse if they went in blind.
"There’s more? Please, tell us everything," Brother Elias urged.
Elena’s tone shifted—serious and grim.
"The mutated cat has ability. So if you confront it, do it at your own risk. Be prepared for the worst."
Brother Elias’s face tightened with concern. "Then... is it dangerous to stay here?"
"Where else could we go? Everywhere is dangerous," Elena replied firmly.
Changing locations didn’t guarantee safety—who’s to say the next place wouldn’t have something worse lurking nearby?
Besides, moving to the military base wasn’t a good option right now.
Once inside, their freedom might be limited, and she wasn’t ready for that.
If things really went downhill, Elena was prepared to confront the beast herself.
She knew it would cost her—maybe even drain all her missile stock—but if eliminating that monster meant peace for a while, she would use everything she had without hesitation.
"Then I’ll inform the military about the mutated cat," Brother Elias said seriously. "They can send backup or start planning next steps."
He wanted the area secured with a proper military presence. This would help keep criminals in check and build a working relationship with the Paradise Shop.
"That’s up to you," Elena replied casually. "As long as they don’t get in our way."
"If we hire you, would you be willing to respond when we call?" the abbot asked.
"As long as it’s within our capability—and the price is right—why not?" Elena answered with a small smirk.
She found it amusing how she was slowly stepping deeper into the role of a businesswoman.
But really, who could resist a good deal when antiques and jade were involved?
"Alright then," the abbot said with a nod. "I’ll likely see you next week."
With that, he left the shop and gathered his men, preparing to return to the military base to report the situation and plan their next move.
