Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 181: Infiltrating
Chapter 181: Infiltrating
"What kind of plan?" he asked, intrigued. He watched her closely, trying to read her intentions.
There was something in her eyes—a glint that told him she was about to do something mischievous.
Without a word, Elena walked toward the right side of the rooftop and stepped up to the edge, casting a sly glance back at him.
"Elena, what are you doing?" Ethan called out, alarm rising in his voice.
"Get back here!"
He moved quickly, picking up his pace to reach her.
Seeing the worry on his face, Elena let her playful act drop.
She stepped away from the edge and raised her hands in surrender.
"Alright, I won’t tease you anymore," she said with a small laugh.
Once he reached her, Ethan pulled her into a firm embrace, concern still tightening his features.
"What exactly are you planning?" he asked quietly.
"I told you," she replied, her tone growing serious.
"We’re going to infiltrate them. To do that, we need to approach from the rear of Building B. This path here—" she gestured ahead, "—leads straight to the back. It’s the only way in without drawing attention."
"Continue," he said, his voice calm despite the gunfire still cracking nearby.
"I’ll jump here, okay?"
Her [Blink] skill only had a ten-meter range, so teleporting straight from the rooftop to the ground below was impossible.
"No," he replied firmly, shaking his head. "I’ll do it myself."
She rolled her eyes.
Ever since she got pregnant, her husband had become overly protective.
While she appreciated his concern, it often distracted him during battles, making him focus too much on her safety instead of the fight.
"Trust me, alright? It’s just me teleporting downward—it’s not even that risky."
"But—"
"No more buts. Stop hugging me; we’re not on a date. We’re in the middle of a battle!"
"Hmmm..."
"I’ll summon Ramon so I can return here later," she added.
"I still need to distract them while you make your way to the back of Building B. Or would you rather stay here while I skate over there instead?"
"You really turn my life upside down, wife," Ethan sighed.
"I’ll agree to your plan—but be careful. Use your [Blink] skill just before you hit the ground. And forget about skating over there; the ice is too slippery. You might fall. I’ll handle that part myself."
"You’re the best husband," she said with a smile, leaning in to kiss him.
Afterward, she summoned Ramon and instructed him to wait on the rooftop.
Ramon nodded, ears twitching as he listened to the distant gunfire.
Then, without hesitation, Elena jumped from the balcony.
Ethan’s breath caught in his throat as he watched her fall, his heart pounding with anxiety.
Meanwhile, Ramon shouted in alarm, stunned by her sudden leap.
"Elena!!" Ramon screamed, but when he glanced at his boss, he was confused.
Ethan seemed way too calm.
As Elena free-fell, she caught the attention of several residents peering out of their windows.
Startled, they leaned closer, trying to see who had just fallen from their unit.
To their shock, they realized the person was alive.
Just before hitting the ground, Elena activated her [Blink] skill and safely reappeared on the ground below.
She then force-summoned Ethan, who appeared fully geared and ready to proceed with the plan.
"See? Next time, don’t overreact—and focus on yourself first," she said. "Once you’re at the back of their building, contact me."
"Hmmm. You be careful too. If the gang starts firing again, just hide," he replied.
Elena nodded and instantly reappeared beside Ramon, ready to resume her role in distracting the gang.
Meanwhile, Ethan skated toward the rear of Building B, staying hidden from the gang’s view.
At the same time, Oslo and Xander were firing nonstop, but the overwhelming return fire made it difficult for them to mount an effective counterattack.
If this situation continued, it could quickly turn against them—especially with evening approaching and the bitter cold intensifying.
"What’s the plan?" Xander asked, firing another shot.
"Chief said to buy time. They’ve already found a way to bring them down," Oslo replied, ducking behind cover.
But suddenly, a heavy metal fragment, struck by a stray bullet, crashed to the ground, scattering shards of ice that struck Xander’s leg and stomach.
"Urrgh... I think I’ve been hit," he groaned, clutching his side.
Seeing the blood flowing from Xander’s wounds, Oslo made a quick decision.
"Get inside Paradise now. With open wounds like that, you’ll risk hypothermia."
"But then you’ll be left alone."
"Don’t worry about me. Just go!"
Oslo immediately contacted Aunt Liza to help Xander, leaving himself behind to continue shooting and distracting the gang.
This time, however, the gang had grown smarter—keeping hidden and firing only when they had the upper hand.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Ethan finally reached the back of Building B and quickly contacted Elena.
"Wife, I’m already here."
"Alright, be there," Elena replied as she instructed Ramon to return to the space.
Moments later, she reappeared beside Ethan, then activated her [Blink] skill to enter Building B undetected.
The building was eerily quiet.
According to her customer’s intel, most residents had already fled.
Only a few remained, locked tightly in their units as the gang had taken over.
Elena continued blinking forward, appearing one floor below the gang’s occupied unit.
She couldn’t help but think that her skill was truly overpowered—at least for now.
"I’ll teleport one more time into their bathroom. From there, we infiltrate."
"Are you planning to face them head-on?" Ethan asked. novelbuddy.cσ๓
"Nope. I’m tossing a grenade to distract them."
Ethan raised a brow. "Alright then."
His pregnant wife was far too bold—but as her supportive husband, he trusted her.
Soon after, Elena used the [Blink] skill again and reappeared inside the gang’s bathroom.
She then force-summoned Ethan, and they could hear laughter coming from the living room, as if the gang were celebrating.
"Boss, they haven’t fired back. Think we finally got them?"
"Maybe. Ready and fire again."
Listening to their conversation, Elena and Ethan exchanged smirks.
"Wait here," she whispered before using [Blink] once more.
In an instant, she appeared in the living room, startling everyone.
"Hello," she greeted them mockingly.
Before anyone could react, she tossed a handful of grenades into their midst.
"Have fun."
And just like that, she vanished.
