Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies-Chapter 363: A new base
"Its good but make sure not to eat too many of them. They are not healthy."
"Understood, don't worry, we will not eat much," Wan Guofu nodded. He then turned around and walked away holding the packs of the spicy strips in his hands.
She then turned to look at Zhou Hongbei and said to him, "You went with these two? Did you not run into zombies?"
"No, they are already cleaned up," Zhou Hongbei shook his head and replied, which made Bai Meiyue frown.
"What do you mean by they are already cleaned up? Were they cleared up by Lei Qian and the rest of the team?" She asked, to which Zhou Hongbei shook his head and replied, "It seems like the people from the army are finally here. We saw a few soldiers wandering around. We were afraid that the supermarket would be cleaned up by them so we went to the nearest supermarket and got whatever we could."
He paused and then added, "Now that the people from the army are here, I am afraid that we will have to travel far to get our supplies. To make matters worse, the people of Bai Feng teams go outside to hunt for supplies almost every day. Thus, the supermarkets close to the building are empty and the zombies are more or less cleaned up."
Bai Meiyue raised a brow when she heard Zhou Hongbei's words. Back then when they were heading down to the City Hospital, it took them six hours to just reach the supermarket, as the street was filled with zombies and they had to clean it.

However, now the path between the supermarket and the apartment building was cleaned up in advance; Zhou Hongbei and the rest could go and return to that supermarket in just a matter of a few days.
It seemed like the people from the army were really here but Bai Meiyue was not happy about it. Because unlike these innocent people who still had some trust in the army, Bai Meiyue didn't have an ounce of trust in the army.
For she had seen the cruelty done by the army in the post-apocalyptic world.
Bai Meiyue sighed; it seemed like what she wanted to avoid still came. She then turned to look at the back of the truck and watched Mo He and the rest taking down the supplies that they had gotten from the supermarket.
"Are those bath bombs?" Bai Meiyue's eyes were sharp enough to notice the pink and white balls wrapped in the plastic box. She had been craving a long, relaxing bath ever since her feet started to show signs of swelling but she had been dillydallying while purchasing a bath bomb pack for a while now.
Why would she when she knew that she could get it in a supermarket?
She raised her hand and waved at Mo He walked over to where he was standing. She said to him, "Can you let me take these? I will exchange some potatoes and chicken legs with you for them?"
"No need, no need," Mo He waved his hands. His little face was flushed red as he said to Bai Meiyue, "You can just give me some potatoes; those will be enough."
Since he didn't want to take the chicken legs, Bai Meiyue didn't force him. She took the bath bombs and asked Mo He to come and take the potatoes later. She then turned to look at Zhou Hongbei and the other three men before saying to them, "Keep these supplies that you have brought with you. They will come in handy sooner or later."
When she thought about the sudden appearance of the army base, Bai Meiyue felt her headache. In all honesty, she didn't want an army base to appear so close to her penthouse; in fact, in her past life, there was no safe house that appeared in this area.
But it seemed like the lack of zombies in this region attracted the army officials.
Once the safe region was built, Bai Meiyue was worried that she had to come up with ways to pay for the entrance and exit fees. In the past, it was crystal nuclei but it would still take time for others to find out the use of the crystal nuclei, which meant that they would have supplies to let Bai Meiyue and the rest leave the safe zone.
When she thought about how this region would be taken under the safe zone, Bai Meiyue felt her head throb. If she had known that this would happen, she would have left a few zombies to linger around on the street.
"Is it because of the army?" Mo He asked as he ripped open a pack of chips and remarked. "I did see them looking at our truck with a covetous gaze."
"Of course they were looking at your supplies," Bai Meiyue curled her lips in a cruel smirk before saying, "They must be upset with the fact that they couldn't charge you one third of the supplies because the entry and exit points are yet to be established."
In the past, when Bai Meiyue lived in a safe zone, she had to pay more than one third of her supplies to the army. Of course, in return it was said that the army protected them such that people could roam around and live comfortably. As for how much it was true, only supernatural beings like Bai Meiyue, who were driven craz,y knew the truth.
They had to give up their comfort to bring the promises of the high-ranking officials to ground. While they were only responsible for running their mouths, the ability users were asked to run around to fulfill their promises.
Bai Meiyue could only hope that no one would set their eyes on her because that would be terrible. She didn't want to get entangled in the same trouble which she had been involved in her past life. Because Bai Meiyue knew that she wouldn't be able to withstand it.
She thought about something and added, "From now on, be very careful."
