Chapter 68: Chapter 58 Tai Chi 24-form Minor Achievement_1

She was practicing while learning, two rounds of a slow exercise called “Ba Duan Jin” which left her feeling fatigued. Chen Li was surprised, she knew how strong Li Ming was, yet she could only hold up for an hour before she lost all her combat strength.

Turns out, she could only get through this slow exercise twice before she had to stop?

The Ba Duan Jin was an exercise many college students practiced, including Chen Li. She had even practiced it alone at home, although she hadn’t done it in a while and the previous effects weren’t so noticeable.

Stunned, after hearing Li Ming’s explanation, she immediately kept this in mind, and quickly told her mother about the “Ba Duan Jin” exercise.

Chen Li’s mother thought for a moment before deciding to practice along with her daughter. Chen Li then persuaded her own daughter to join them.

Luckily, Li Ming did not need to follow along with the video anymore, and could directly show them from his cell phone. The mother and daughter, while doing it clumsily, were able to learn it all in one hour.

Chen Li’s mother though had no energy left after one round and sat down to rest with a baffled look on her face.

However, Chen Li’s daughter kept going, completing four rounds before finally feeling tired. Chen Li did not understand why, she just thought that children were too young to feel tired and decided to keep practicing this skill while watching Li Ming exercising in the living room.

While watching, Chen Li noticed Zhang Yuan doing laundry and rushed to clean the house with a mop.

Her mother, seeing Chen Li and Zhang Yuan busy, got up to help by wiping the stair railings amongst other things.

They had just moved in, and yesterday was merely cleaned the surface. There were still many places that needed tidying up, even little Yinyin was not left idle, running around to lend a hand.

One morning, they cleaned from the third floor to the second, three women and a little girl were all exhausted. It was only at noon that they paused their cleaning, wiped sweat off, and began cooking together.

“Mom, is this our new home?”

While picking vegetables, Yinyin squatted next to Chen Li and asked in a soft voice.

A morning of cleaning had made the little girl feel more at home, and now her eyes were bright as she asked Chen Li.

“Yes, Yinyin, this is our new home.”

Seeing the look on her daughter’s face, Chen Li laughed and replied. Yinyin seemed to understand, nodded, and then smiled, happy to have a new home.

“Yinyin, will you help grandma dry the vegetables in the afternoon?”

Seeing the little girl’s reaction, Chen Li’s mother couldn’t help but smile and asked her.

“Okay, Yinyin will help grandma dry the vegetables.”

The child didn’t understand the concept of chores, they just liked running around and playing. Upon hearing her grandma, she immediately agreed.

“Auntie, good thing you’re here, I don’t know how to make dried vegetables and pickles. And there’s also the fruits, I thought we could clean them up in the afternoon when me and Chen Li are cleaning the first floor. Please check if there’s anything that we didn’t do correctly.”

Hearing Chen Li’s mother’s words, Zhang Yuan also laughed, then couldn’t help but speak.

“I don’t have many talents, just like to research about food when I’m bored. I learned how to preserve food for a long time, like if fruits are canned properly, they could last up to a year. Although I don’t have proper sealing conditions, they could still last a month without any problem.”

Chen Li’s mother smiled and said, “Then I will try to preserve these foods for as long as possible.”

“That would be great, Auntie, you’re really helping us out here. Oh, Brother Ming said he wanted to grow vegetables and crops here, do you know how to do it?”

Upon hearing what Chen Li’s mother said, Zhang Yuan was pleasantly surprised, and immediately could not help but ask.

She felt embarrassed to call Li Ming her husband in front of the auntie.

“As for farming, I can’t say for sure. I’d seen my mother’s generation do it when I was younger, but it’s been many years since. I am quite confident about growing vegetables though.”

Hearing what Zhang Yuan said, Chen Li’s mother hesitated for a moment, and then responded.

“Knowing a bit is already good, I’ve been worried that I wouldn’t be able to help with this. It’s really great to have you around!”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Yuan felt even more surprised. Li Ming had previously told her about growing vegetables and crops in the villa area, she was worried because she didn’t know how to farm. Now that there was someone who knew how, she was naturally very happy.

“I grew up in the countryside when I was a child, and I have a pretty clear idea about how to farm in my mind. Auntie, as long as you know a bit, just remind me if there’s something I overlooked.”

A deep male voice suddenly came from the stairway, the three of them along with little Yinyin turned to look at the stairway, only to see Li Ming full of vigor, walking up to the second floor with sweat all over his body. He smiled and began speaking, having apparently overhead their conversation.

“It isn’t an issue to remind people, but we are just a few people here. We can still manage to grow some vegetables, but can we keep up if we start farming?”

Upon hearing what Li Ming said, Chen Li’s mother quickly responded, although her facial expression suggested she was a bit troubled.

“I will hire people when the time comes, we won’t have to do it ourselves.”

Li Ming said with a smile. Afterwards, he saw Zhang Yuan stand up to go to the bathroom and fetch him a towel to wipe off his sweat, so he turned and spoke to Chen Li: “Chen Li, bring a box of milk powder and boil some water. I’ll eat in a while.”

“Ah, okay.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Li put down the vegetables she was holding, rotated and went into the storage room to fetch the things Li Ming wanted. She left her daughter, who was blinking her eyes timidly, staring at Li Ming. However, after interacting with him, she was not as afraid to be around Li Ming as before.

Chen Li’s mother was somewhat stunned by Li Ming’s words. She then accelerated her pace to finish picking the remaining vegetables, carried them into the kitchen, and started cooking.

“Wipe your sweat.”

Zhang Yuan came over with a wrung-out towel and gently wiped the sweat off of Li Ming. Li Ming instructed her to wipe it carefully, then he smiled at Little Yinyin and picked her up.

“Yinyin, how do you feel about your new home? Are you happy or not?”

No matter what she thought before, now Chen Li was living with him. He needed to adopt a balanced mentality. Li Ming also didn’t mind treating the little girl intimately to prevent any uneasiness in their future interaction.

This is also how he thought about Chen Li’s mother.

Li Ming was playing with Yinyin with a warm attitude. This made Yinyin less timid, but she was still somewhat shy and dare not speak to Li Ming.

It was not until Chen Li took out the milk powder that Li Ming let go of Yinyin. She instantly ran to her mother’s side, stealing glances at Li Ming.

“I didn’t see any opened containers, so I just grabbed a new one. How much should I prepare? The hot water from earlier is still available.”

Chen Li smiled and led her daughter to the dining table. While opening the box of milk powder, she asked Li Ming, a hint of confusion in her eyes. She didn’t really understand why a grown man like Li Ming would want a box of milk powder.

“You can take care of Yinyin. I’ll do this.”

Zhang Yuan took the wet towel that she had wrung out again and wiped Li Ming’s body. After this, she laughed and spoke. As she spoke, she quickly wrung out the towel again in the bathroom and hung it up. Then, she came back to prepare the milk powder for Li Ming.

“Brother Ming will probably be hungry after exercising, so he needs to drink a lot.”

Seeing Chen Li looking surprised, Zhang Yuan smiled and explained. Chen Li was still a bit stunned. However, upon seeing Li Ming nod, she didn’t utter a word and just curiously observed from a distance.

Li Ming stared at the status of his Tai Chi 24-form skill, which was now at an advanced understanding of 99%. He took a deep breath, got up, and resumed practicing in the living room on the second floor, under Chen Li’s curious gaze.

Move by move, Li Ming was very serious. Soon after completing a set of the exercise, a set of data popped before his eyes again:

Tai Chi 24-form (At a rudimentary level 0%)

In an instant, a powerful energy emerged from within his body. Li Ming felt that his physical strength had greatly increased. His strength was subtly altered, and his breathing seemed longer and more consistent, like an air bag.

The sudden increase in strength brought along an overwhelming sense of hunger. Li Ming immediately walked to the dining table and drank the milk powder that Zhang Yuan had prepared, gulping down bowl after bowl.

“Gulp~ gulp~”

Bowl after bowl of prepared milk powder went down his throat, and Li Ming felt that the hungry feeling inside him was rapidly disappearing. Only after consuming the whole box of milk powder did he stop.

“Phew~”

After a sigh of relief, Li Ming put down his chopsticks. Zhang Yuan also let out a sigh of relief and quickly started cleaning up the dishes and bowls, heading into the kitchen to wash up.

Chen Li looked stunned from the side.

“Don’t be surprised. It’s just that I eat a bit more but can still digest it all. You can think of it as—a supernatural ability.”

Seeing Chen Li’s surprised face, Li Ming looked at her sticking out her tongue and laughed while explaining.

Chen Li was stunned.

“Superpower?”
