Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 104: Collecting Pre-Cast
Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Collecting Pre-Cast
Ye Xuan withdrew the shield and drew out a sword then started chopping zombie heads one after another.
Chu Miao, not to be outdone, also held two short swords and danced next to Ye Xuan, cutting off one head with a swing of her left hand and incapacitating another with her right hand.
She was like a fairy performing a classic sword dance as she looked as beautiful as an angel.
However, anyone who saw the pile of zombies lying next to her would know that she was no angel but a demon.
Chu Hao didn’t even get a chance to move a muscle like the two corporates as if they had been fighting together for a lifetime.
It was astonishing how much tacit understanding the two had and how they managed to protect the other from sneak attacks just in time without losing momentum.
He had never seen anything like this before, even in movies.
’Did these two really gain such good rapport from just fighting one battle together?’ He thought to himself.
It felt as if they had fought countless battles like this together many times. It didn’t make sense.
However, he didn’t get distracted for long as the three hundred zombies were taken care of in just one hour.
This was record time. They had gotten better at killing zombies, but what contributed to the fast battle was their flawless corporation.
"You guys can take a break. Let me collect the crystal cores for you." Chu Hao said as he went forward and started prying the heads of the zombies open to search for crystals.
Not all zombies had crystal cores, so in the end, there were hundred and two crystal cores obtained.
Chu Miao used her water superpower to clean the brain matter from the crystal cores and divided them into two equal parts of fifty-one crystals each.
She gave one bundle to Ye Xuan and had Chu Hao put hers in his space.
Even though she had somewhat started to trust Ye Xuan and accept him as a teammate, she was still not planning to let him know that she has a space yet.
She thought that if he proved more trustworthy, she would tell him about the space rings. Of course, not the family heirloom but the normal space rings like the ones her family had.
She was also wearing one. Just in case the issue of space rings is exposed later and people wonder why others had such rings but she didn’t.
She didn’t want any suspicions cast on her space ring. The family heirloom was too important to expose so casually.
After storing the crystal cores, they walked into the factory and found many abandoned vehicles in the parking lot. There were also large delivery trucks with some products inside. It looked like they were loaded for delivery but they never left the factory.
Chu Hao turned and looked at his sister, giving her a look. She immediately understood what he meant and nodded.
As soon as he saw that she had agreed to his suggestion, Chu Hao went to the side of the first truck and placed his hand on it. The truck disappeared. He went to the second one and the same thing happened again. The truck disappeared into thin air.
Anyone who saw this scene would be scared to death. Such big trucks disappearing into thin air was frightening.
Ye Xuan had seen the subtle exchange between the two siblings but pretended not to see anything. He was sure that this was related to another of Chu Miao’s secrets.
He didn’t want to be nosy and annoy her. So, he pretended not to see anything and just went to look around.
He came back with several empty cans and started syphoning gasoline from the vehicles in the parking lot.
After storing away five trucks full of precast building materials, Chu Miao turned around but didn’t see Ye Xuan.
Just as she was wondering where he had gone off to, she saw him holding a can and bending next to a pickup truck syphoning gasoline.
Only then did she realize what he was doing. Indeed, gasoline was going to become scarce later and having more was better.
Even though they had bought quite a lot of gasoline before the apocalypse and also collected some in the first few days, they could never have enough.
When no more gasoline is produced and the available is used up, transport will become a nightmare. So, collecting more now would save them trouble later.
Seeing that Ye Xuan was busy, she followed her brother into the factory to collect supplies.
First they went into a large warehouse about three thousand square meters that was filled to the brim with ready made products.
Without standing on ceremony the siblings started storing all the materials into their space rings.
Within ten minutes, the warehouse was empty.
"It looks like this factory had a big order before the apocalypse began. Even though they produce precast building materials, they usually don’t have so much stock without a big order.
From the design of the products, they should have been made for a client who was planning on building an estate or a living community." Chu Hao commented as he thanked the tycoon who had commissioned the order.
"Indeed, the person who had them made should be blessed as he has given us enough materials to build an entire community.
This will be helpful if we decide to build our own base." Chu Miao also agreed with her brother.
"Yes, we should look for roofing materials and steel next time. If we can collect those, then we won’t have a problem building high-quality houses even in the apocalypse." Chu Hao suggested after thinking about the requirements for a complete house.
"That’s a good idea. We should probably do that in the next few days. If the government is also building bases, then they will also need such materials. If they get to them first, we can only cry in the toilet." Chu Miao added.
Chu Hao thought that his sister had a point. They couldn’t compete with the government for resources. Just like how the military took over gas stations and big malls at the onset of the apocalypse and they couldn’t do anything, it’s the same for building materials.
"Why don’t we finish collecting everything here and see if we can find another factory producing other materials. It’s still early, there’s no need to go back home so early." Chu Hao suggested this to his sister.
"Okay, but let’s ask for Ye Xuan’s opinion first. After all, he came here with us and we need his opinion on this." Chu Miao agreed to her brother’s suggestion but felt that Ye Xuan had a right to know first before making a final decision.
However, she was almost certain that he would agree.
