Chapter 58 - 58: Being Productive (Medium info-dump)

Finishing our little session, Kate and I stepped out of the shower, skin still damp and tingling from the lingering warmth. The bathroom mirror was fogged up completely, the air thick with steam and the faint scent of citrus shampoo clinging to us. We dried off slowly, towels brushing against flushed skin.

She got dressed in just a pair of soft cotton panties she bought from the store yesterday and then threw on one of my purple T-shirts—oversized on her frame, the hem brushing her thighs. I wanted to go at it again, the thought tempting me like a fire barely smothered, but with her probably being sore, I didn't want to inflict any pain on her.

"Yaaaaa~!"

"You can sleep if you want."

She yawned so loudly I was pretty sure my neighbors heard it through the thin walls.

Nodding her head, she said, "Yeah, I'll take you up on that! But do you have any spare sheets?"

Looking at the bed in front of us, I blinked. The sheets were still rumpled and clung faintly with heat and the scent of the two of us. I nearly forgot I hadn't cleaned them yet. Stretching a bit, I walked over to my closet, the wooden floor cool against my bare feet, and pulled out a spare set of the same soft gray sheets.

'I just realized that the main room has marble floors, and the bedroom has wooden. No wonder my feet are fucking cold as shit whenever I'm in the other room!'

I stripped the old ones off and tossed them into the hamper, the fabric rustling as it hit the basket. With practiced ease, I laid down the new sheets, smoothed out the pillow covers, and fluffed the blanket. Crisp, cool, and ready.

"Thank you~!"

"Of course, love." I smiled gently while she laid down, her smile slowly turning into a sleepy one. I quietly walked out of the room, gently closing the door behind me.

My plans now were to study the world a bit—to try and update my understanding of everything.

'Haha~ Perfect timing.'

[Not going to say it's random this time?]

'I already know it's random, so what's the point?'

[Ha~ They grow up so fast!]

Sitting down at my computer, I opened up a plain document sheet. I set everything up with proper headers, font, and size. The soft glow of the screen lit up the dim room, casting a faint bluish hue over my hands as they hovered over the keyboard.

This would be the best damn document in the world.

New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.

'First things first, let's start with the important countries. Irrelevant countries aren't worth it for now.'

Amarika: The entertainment and fashion capital of the world, known for its movies, music, and pop culture—along with fashion in all its forms. It's also the second-largest country by landmass, home to diverse landscapes and booming fashion hubs.

Aurindell: A top-tier destination for winter holidays, famous for its snow festivals and northern lights. It's an extremely safe and neutral country, widely respected on the global stage for its diplomacy and peacekeeping.

Swinterland: A calm and balanced country—nothing flashy, but consistently pleasant. While it may not specialize in anything, it's a popular spot for relaxing vacations and peaceful living.

Swedan: Culturally similar to Swinterland, but with deeper historical roots. Known as the Historical Capital of the World, it houses most of the world's museums and research centers, making it a global hub for historians and scholars.

Asakaze: Famed as the Art Capital of the World, Asakaze thrives on creativity and expression. It maintains a strong cultural alliance with Amarika and Swedan, and is also beloved for its high-quality sweets and pastries.

Mongai: The smallest country by landmass, but the wealthiest in terms of economy. Most international businesses—excluding Amarika's entertainment and fashion, and Asakaze's art and sweets—are headquartered here due to its favorable trade laws and unparalleled economic stability.

Jade Empire: The largest country in the world and the undisputed Technological Capital. It leads advancements in robotics, AI, and infrastructure, and forms a major alliance bloc with Amarika, Swedan, and Asakaze.

Italey: Known as both the Architectural Capital and the Beach Capital of the world. Famous for its coastal resorts, Italey is also where the luxurious region of Veylora is located.

"Wonderful!" I muttered before moving on to the next order of business: the state of the world.

The year is 2025—a bit ahead of when I died. I died in 2024 on Earth, but that wasn't all that important. We were in September—specifically the 18th—giving Convergence week a little over two weeks before it begins. It starts on October 3rd this year, and it's set for the first Friday of the month.

Apparently, a war is going on between Rusiean and Youaine, but I didn't really care to delve into it. It wasn't my business, and from what I could tell, it was getting handled. It sucks that people have to die, but I'm sure there's more to that story.

'This should be enough for now.' I stood up from my chair getting a good stretch in. My goal was to order some food now but that got soon interrupted.

Knock~ Knock~

'Hm?'

Walking over to the door, I peeped through the peephole—and it was the police?! I hurriedly grabbed my phone from my pocket and called Mom. I didn't want the police to make a scene and wake up or worry Kate, so I planned to answer it.

"Eiz?"

"Mom, the police are at my door..."

"Why?!"

"I don't know either!"

"Don't panic, just keep me on the line."

"Yes ma'am."

Click~

I opened the door, and the two officers looked at me with seemingly neutral expressions.

"Can I help you two officers?" I made my voice as calm as possible—with my level 4 acting skills, it came out just as intended. I was scared as fuck in my mind though!

"Don't worry, we're only here to ask a few questions." The officer to the right was the same height as me, with green hair and yellow eyes. He seemed so unattached from the world that I strangely felt calm enough to talk.

"Uh huh."

"First, my name is Edward Castorice. This is my partner, Cecil Fusct," the green-haired officer—Edward—explained.

"Where were you yesterday, Saturday the 17th?"

"On a date with my girlfriend."

Hearing my response, Edward nodded, turning to the female officer (Cecil) to his right, who had brown hair down to her neck and purple eyes. She also seemed eerily unattached, which made me wonder if all police officers were like this.

"And do you know anyone with the name Fecil Lockart?"

I shook my head.

"I've never heard of this person."

"Alright, thank you. Sorry to bother you, and thank you for the cooperation."

The two officers walked off, and I closed the door—baffled. Mom's voice came out from the other side of the phone.

"Lockart... Oh! Bahaha~ Thank God you don't have your memories, son!"

"W-Why?"

"That's my best friend's—your Aunt Jennifer's—son. He has a habit of getting into trouble, hah~ Normally you'd cover for him, but this time he really got his ass handed to him! This is just too funny. I'm going to call Jen!"

The call hung up, but I still didn't understand. How did they know I moved so quickly? I was referring to the police, but given that it's been more than a few days, I guess it makes sense. I got to the couch and ordered some Jadeian food—some spicy chicken and noodles!
