Chapter 72: Chapter 72

The dark night seemed to wrap around Dron as he slowly made his way back to the house. He tried hard not to think about what he’d just heard but it wasn’t like he could pretend that every hair on the back of his neck didn’t stand on end the second he heard Mexyn and Tempest talking about a hysterectomy.

Was she already that far gone?

Was she really so disgusted by the possibility of mating with Dron that she was contemplating an invasive and life changing decision?

Dron didn’t stay around long enough to hear any more of what they were saying to one another. All he needed was that one word to know that it wasn’t a conversation for him to hear. When Tempest told him she wanted to speak with Mexyn he was originally against it. He was still a bit hesitant about trusting her. Tempest insisted saying that Mexyn was the only omega female she had any bit of trust in and she wanted to know more about the heat process.

Dron couldn’t deny her. Especially since he was at a loss himself. So after what felt like a few hours, Mexyn and Tempest finished talking and he watched his wife walk the woman out of their house.

Dron was nearly foaming at the mouth to get back inside. He had a million and one questions about what they were talking about. He didn’t want to make assumptions. Didn’t want to guess at what Tempest had decided to do.

Even if there was no possible way for Dron and Tempest to come together and have children, he at least would be at peace knowing that somewhere in the universe there would be someone worthy enough for Tempest to bless them with a child. An extension of her. More light and love for the universe.

It burned him that it wouldn’t be him but at least it didn’t mean that all hope was lost. It would be if she chose to have a hysterectomy.

Once Tempest waved to Mexyn and used the lever to help closed the front door, Dron instantly walked through the back windows. The slight whooshing sound of the glass partition sinking away into the floor floated up into the air.

"Sorry that took so long." Tempest smiled gently as if she were embarrassed that she was having a good time with someone else.

"No apologies needed. It’s nice that you have a friend available to you here. I’m sure Squab helps with the loneliness but he can’t be much of a conversationalist.

"Oh, you don’t know! I swear that squabbit understands what I’m saying. He talks alright." Tempest giggled before she stretched a little bit, "I actually should take a few moments to bond a little more with him. I saw him outside with you earlier. I’m glad you two had fun."

"That’s what you call fun? I call it a furry little distraction."

"A little bit of both then maybe?"

She started to walk away again and Dron knew that he should let her. That he should forget what he heard but it felt like his heart was about to pop out of his chest if he did that.

"Actually, could we talk for a moment?" Dron questioned.

"Sure, talk about what?" Tempest tilted her head and looked up at Dron patiently.

Dron opened his mouth to speak but snapped it shut a second later. There was something he needed to do. He wanted to make sure that everything she was about to tell him was the truth. He didn’t want her sparing his feelings.

Dron grabbed hold of her hand and he slowly led her until they were back in his room. At first it was strange having her in his room but now that she’d been inside of it a few times it was as if he was looking for different ways to get Tempest to join him in there. He knew the weather was supposed to be nice for a while and he prayed that he wasn’t going to have to wait until the next storm for Tempest to want to sleep next to him again. Now that he’d slept next to Tempest he wasn’t sure how he was going to be able to go back to sleeping on his own.

Probably very unhappily.

"Is something wrong?" Tempest questioned when they got into the room.

"No, I just wanted to make sure that you were honest with me. The deal still stands right? You will be honest with me in this room?" Dron wanted to make sure.

"Yes, of course."

"And you won’t worry that I’ll get mad or upset?" Dron also knew there were other ways to get out of telling the truth. Most of which revolved around omitting information.

"Yes, I promise. But that also means you can’t get upset with me about whatever the subject is once we’re out of the room." She raised her eyebrows at him. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Dron nodded once and then patted the bed so they could both sit down. Honestly, he just wanted to be next to her.

"So what’s going on?" Tempest asked turning her body so she was face to face with Dron.

"I’m sorry, I eavesdropped a little. It was unintentional. The word was spoken loudly and I couldn’t help overhearing." Dron started with giving all the excuses he could as to why he was already privy to some of the information from Tempest and Mexyn’s chat.

"It’s okay. I wasn’t trying to hide it from you. In fact, you probably should’ve been there with Mexyn and I but there was a sensitive matter I talked to her before hand."

"More sensitive than an omega’s heat cycle?" Dron wasn’t convinced.

"Yeah. I thought Mexyn’s alpha was abusing her."

Bile rose in Dron’s throat. An alpha should never lay a hand on an omega for any other reason besides safety and pleasure.

"What made you think that? Did she say he was?" Suddenly all thoughts about getting to the bottom of what Tempest would do in the future was pushed to the back of his mind. He would get to that but first he needed to know if he had to go pay Mexyn’s husband a visit. Dron may not know Mexyn very well but Tempest cared for her. He knew if something were to happen to Mexyn, Tempest would be upset. There was no way that he would allow anyone to upset his mate.

"No, I saw the marks but Mexyn explained that it was common. I guess I must have overreacted." Tempest shrugged.

"Common? Where? Wait..." Dron put a hand up so she could halt the conversation, "Why did she say it was common? And then tell me what kind of marks you saw on her."

"She said it was common because her husband was in his rut. He was having a hard time controlling himself and that why he left marks on her neck."

Dron’s mouth dropped open, "Are you kidding me? No, that’s not common. Unless of course she said she enjoyed it. There are some omegas who like a more primal mating process."

"No, she said she didn’t like it. She just endured."

Anger filled Dron’s chest. "What’s her mate’s name?" He sneered.

"No you don’t! What are you going to do?"

"I’m going to teach him a lesson. If he has a hard time controlling his emotions, "I’ll give him all the incentive he needs to do better."

"Dron, you can’t. I’m not supposed to tell you this. Remember what we promised. What we talk about in this room stays in this room."

He sighed and clenched his jaw tightly. He really wanted to have the chance to put whoever was hurting Mexyn in their place, but right now he would have to just deal with the fact that he couldn’t. He’d find a way though. Find a way to knock some sense into the alpha without it coming back to it being about Mexyn.

"Is that what you called me in here about?" Tempest chewed on the corner of her lip.

"No. I’ll be honest. It’s sensitive. I know you and Mexyn were talking about the heat cycle at some point and the option of having a hysterectomy came up. Are you really going to think about doing that?"

Tempest chuckled slightly, "I had a fit when I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled out, there’s no way I’m going to be okay with someone pulling out an organ. No, she was just telling me that it was the only way for me to get out of having a heat all together."

Dron smiled slightly but didn’t want her to think that he was taking joy in the fact that something was happening to her that she didn’t want to happen.

"So she’s sure that human women have a heat?"

Tempest nodded, "She said one of the earth women they brought went into heat on the first day. It’s possible."

"And it will be painful?" Dron swallowed hard.

"Yes. Mexyn gave me a few options, the best option according to her was to have sex."

’Well that sounds like a good plan’ Dron thought to himself but he didn’t want to say anything out loud that might wind up pressuring Tempest.

"You’ve already said that you would rather not do that."

"Correct." Tempest nodded once, "Mexyn gave a few other options such as toys but I’m against the whole idea of anything penetrating me. According to her, I’ll have to settle on many orgasms and that won’t remove all the pain but should make it bearable.

Dron fisted his hands together. He didn’t like the idea of her being in pain. Didn’t like the thought that there was nothing he could do.

But maybe there was.

He was disappointed but he accepted that she didn’t want to mate with him. But there were other ways to bring an omega pleasure. He’d proven that only a few nights before.

"You look like you have something more to ask?" Tempest leaned in a little further, her thin brow furrowed in concern.

"I do...may I help you?"

"Help me?"

"Yes, use me to help get through your heat cycle."
