Lord of All Gods
Chapter 2525
Mulai explained to the doppelganger, "This is a type of corpse demon—we call it the Half-Beast Corpse Demon. It has no soul, no thoughts of its own, only an insatiable thirst for slaughter."
"Through various refining processes, it’s been fused with countless scales and metals from other races, making its body virtually indestructible. Its strength comes from absorbing an entire planet, granting it the power of a world."
Just then, the Demon-Sealing Stele and the Demon Vine managed to pin down the Half-Beast Corpse Demon through a combination of pressure and entanglement. Yet, the creature once again tapped into the power of its spatial world, forcefully repelling both the stele and the vine.
Fortunately, the Demon Vine’s tendrils had grown exceptionally resilient, preventing them from being snapped. However, many of the thorns covering the vines were damaged in the struggle.
"I can’t absorb any energy from its body!" the Demon Vine complained to Ye Liuyun. "That monster has no energy to siphon at all."
The Demon-Sealing Stele also relayed that it could only draw energy from the creature’s scales. Moreover, it sensed that the Half-Beast Corpse Demon’s body was entirely composed of these scales, with no other substances inside.
After a moment of thought, Ye Liuyun summoned the Metal-Devouring Beast to test its capabilities. Yet, even the beast failed to absorb any energy from the Half-Beast Corpse Demon.
Its hardened scales merely resembled metal—or matched its hardness—but were fundamentally different in nature.
"Does it have any weaknesses?" the doppelganger asked Mulai.
Mulai shook his head. "Unless you completely dissolve its head with white light, or its master commands it to stop attacking, it’s nearly impossible to defeat."
"Is its master nearby?" The doppelganger immediately grew wary.
"Not necessarily," Mulai replied. "The Half-Beast Corpse Demon’s master can see everything through its eyes, so there’s no need for direct supervision. Besides, this particular creature belongs to Elder Muxi. He likely isn’t here—if he were, you’d stand no chance."
"Oh? Its eyes..." The doppelganger fell into thought.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun began examining the Half-Beast Corpse Demon’s eyes with his golden pupils.
Its entire pupils were pitch black, yet Ye Liuyun could tell through his golden pupils that those eyes were definitely not metallic—they were unmistakably ordinary eyes.
To test this, Ye Liuyun summoned a blade of spiritual energy and slashed at the half-beast corpse demon’s eyes. The moment it sensed the attack, it instinctively shut its eyes, relying on its eyelids to block the strike.
“The eyelids are its weak spot!”
Just as Ye Liuyun was about to unleash his white light attack, he suddenly hesitated.
“If Elder Muxi can see me through its eyes, wouldn’t using the white light expose me?”
Then another thought struck him: *How is Muxi even able to see the outside world through its eyes in the first place?*
Lost in contemplation, Ye Liuyun nearly took a direct hit from the half-beast corpse demon. Fortunately, his mastery over spatial energy allowed him to dodge in the blink of an eye—only grazing his arm without serious injury.
From then on, he began circling the half-beast corpse demon, using spatial energy to constrict its movement.
Since there was no immediate danger, the demon refrained from recklessly expending its spatial world’s power to avoid waste.
Seizing the opportunity, Ye Liuyun teleported behind the creature using spatial energy and fired a beam of black light—not white—from his golden pupils.
He wanted to test whether something like Muxi’s soul fragment resided within the demon’s golden pupils. Unsure of the exact target, he enveloped the entire head of the half-beast corpse demon in the black light.
To his surprise, his haphazard move struck gold. The half-beast corpse demon immediately halted its attacks, standing frozen in place. It even plummeted straight from the sky, completely forgetting how to levitate.
With a thunderous *boom*, the half-beast corpse demon crashed straight down, smashing a massive crater into the ground!
If not for its unnaturally tough body, the impact alone would have shattered it to pieces.
Ye Liuyun harnessed spatial energy, yanking the half-beast corpse demon back into his grip by the neck.
"How do we control this thing?" his clone immediately asked Mulai.
Mulai was utterly stunned by the scene before him.
"I... I have no idea!"
He genuinely hadn’t known this was even a viable way to take down a half-beast corpse demon.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun held the creature up, scrutinizing it closely. Since the soul-obliterating black light had worked, it confirmed that this monstrosity was indeed controlled by a spiritual force.
But pinpointing *where* that control originated required deeper investigation. Spaces like the Sea of Consciousness—where souls were typically stored—couldn’t be seen with his Golden Pupils. He had no choice but to release his own spiritual sense, carefully probing every inch of the corpse demon while avoiding its now-empty Sea of Consciousness.
Finally, behind the creature’s left eye, Ye Liuyun discovered a small spiritual space—far tinier than a Sea of Consciousness—completely hollow. Likely, whatever soul or Muxi’s consciousness had once resided there had already been annihilated by the black light.
No soul meant an empty shell. He hefted the half-beast corpse demon in his hands, noting how much heavier it was than an ordinary human.
*This thing must’ve endured hell during its forging. To fuse so many metallic scales into its body... the pain must’ve been unbearable.*
That thought made him reconsider tossing the corpse aside.
*What if it functions like a metal puppet? Worth testing.*
With that, Ye Liuyun channeled a wisp of his spiritual sense into the creature’s vacant soul space.
To his astonishment, he actually received feedback from the half-beast corpse demon—information that could help him gauge its strength.
Through this faint strand of spiritual connection, he could now control the creature as easily as manipulating a metal puppet.
"Hah! So it’s just a puppet after all! Nothing formidable!" Ye Liuyun laughed inwardly, thrilled at stumbling upon such a massive windfall.
He immediately took command of the puppet, sparring with it for a while to familiarize himself before finally storing it away in his spatial realm.
The half-beast corpse demon consumed an enormous amount of energy. Once the power stored within its spatial world was depleted, Ye Liuyun couldn’t bear to waste precious resources replenishing it.
For him, this thing was little more than a disposable tool—though in critical moments, it could serve as a decent shield.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the golden-armored alien Elder Muxi had no idea how his spiritual probe had been obliterated in an instant.
"Did that human get Mulei to intervene? Damn that wretched human!" He assumed Mulei had unleashed the black light attack.
With that thought, he dispatched a flood of elite alien warriors to reinforce every outpost while issuing a sweeping order: if Ye Liuyun was encountered again, they were to negotiate first—offering resources in exchange for Mulei’s safe return.
Mulei wasn’t just any three-eyed golden-armored alien; he was a true prince, a figure of immense status among their kind. His importance couldn’t be overstated.
Previously, Mulei had grown restless in the alien stronghold and had severely underestimated Ye Liuyun—otherwise, they would never have sent someone of his rank to deal with the human.
