Building the Strongest Pavilion in Another World
Chapter 77: Darius’s Rage
"Darius, do you know what you are doing?" The four Guardians all advanced toward him, speaking loudly as a powerful and threatening aura emanated from their bodies.
They had only been flung out of the battle by the impact and had not suffered any real injuries. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Darius’s eyes swept over them as he said calmly, "You all should feel fortunate that this is the Academy. That’s why I will only cripple you and leave you with your lives."
He wasn’t ignorant. Provoking the Wolf Fang Guild on equal terms against cultivators of the same realm was one thing, but killing these Guardians on Academy grounds was an entirely different matter.
Darius hadn’t yet agreed to die at the hands of one of the Empire’s generals or experts. If he had, he would have crippled Luke back then, but he had refrained from doing so for this exact reason. Yet if push came to shove, then...
"Insolence!" the four Guardians shouted in unison.
This brat was really too outrageously bold. One had to know that although they had been flung away by a single move, it was also because they had been careless and had underestimated Darius’s strength. One only had to look at how completely unharmed they were to know that they were indeed powerful cultivators.
"Release Envoy Cody!" one of the Guardians demanded.
These four Guardians were known respectively as Tiger, Elephant, Panther, and Wolf, and the one who had spoken was the Elephant Guardian.
"Oh, now that you mention it..." Darius smiled. He kicked Cody in the backside and said, "This is the master of you four dogs. Come, kneel down and greet your master!"
"What!?" The four Guardians glared furiously. He actually wanted them to kneel.
"What is it? Can’t you even kneel for the sake of your master, an envoy of such a grand guild?" Darius said calmly as he drew out his sword. "Then who knows? If I’m not happy, perhaps I might slice off one of his arms in my displeasure."
The four Guardians were all shocked. Naturally, they did not place much importance on Cody himself, but he was still an envoy of Wolf Fang and, more importantly, the younger brother of that monster. They had already received his brother’s orders to protect Cody. If Cody were crippled right before their eyes, how would they be able to face the guild afterward?
More importantly... how would they face his brother?
"Teacher Andrew, this brat intends to commit violence in public. I would like to request Teacher Andrew to step forward and stop him!" the Wolf Guardian shouted toward the teacher who had been standing on one side and merely watching the situation unfold.
Teacher Andrew was also only in the True Qi Realm, but his status was different. The words of a teacher from Dragon City Academy naturally carried considerable weight.
Teacher Andrew was feeling extremely displeased. Earlier, when Cody had used his status to bully Shen and had completely ignored the Academy’s rules, he had already been unhappy. However, before arriving here, he had received instructions to cooperate with Cody in every way possible, so he could only suppress his dissatisfaction.
When he saw Darius stomp Cody into the ground, he had actually felt delighted and secretly praised him. Yet he never expected Cody and his group to be so shameless. When they were the ones breaking the rules, they acted as though he didn’t exist. Yet now that someone else was breaking those same rules, they suddenly remembered he was standing here.
He truly didn’t want to involve himself in this matter. However, after recalling the orders he had received, he could only sigh helplessly and say, "Darius, it is forbidden to injure others within Academy grounds. Aren’t you going to release him?"
The moment those words were spoken, the crowd instantly erupted into an uproar.
What did that mean?
Just now, when Cody was preparing to severely injure Shen, why hadn’t he spoken up?
"Is this still the Academy?"
"No, no, no. Is this even the Dragon City Academy under the rule of the Guardian Empire anymore? Why do I feel like the Academy is owned by Wolf Fang Guild now?"
"That’s right! Even Imperial Princes and Princesses have to follow the rules when they enter the Academy. Could it be that Wolf Fang Guild and Cody’s brother are above the Imperial Family?"
"Heh, I disagree!"
"Me too!"
Everyone began shouting loudly.
It was Shen today, but tomorrow it could be any one of them. If rules no longer protected them, then the consequences would be far too serious. Naturally, everyone felt fear and unease at such a possibility.
Teacher Andrew could not help but become speechless. He had already been feeling guilty, and now he naturally couldn’t maintain a righteous appearance.
On one side were his orders, while on the other side were his personal ethics. As the two came into conflict, he finally sighed and said, "I will no longer involve myself in this matter."
He directly turned around and left, genuinely refusing to interfere any further.
The four Guardians immediately turned ashen-faced.
"Darius, what do you want in exchange for releasing Envoy Cody?" the Elephant Guardian finally asked.
Darius merely glanced at him before replying, "Simple. He severely injured my friend and even intended to cut off one of his arms. Therefore, I will beat him half to death and cut off both of his arms. That’s all."
"You’re going too far!" the Wolf Guardian shouted furiously.
Darius smiled calmly. "I’m the type of person who seeks revenge for the smallest grievance. If someone breaks one of my fingers, I’ll break his arm in return. I’ve only doubled the punishment this time, which is already quite merciful."
"I have a Pavilion’s reputation to maintain. Do you think I’m some penniless nobody who can be bullied at will? Get the hell out of here."
"You dare!"The four Guardians charged toward Darius at the same time. They intended to unleash a storm of attacks, preventing Darius from making a move against Cody. As long as they could rescue him, then regardless of how strange Darius was, he was still only a ninth-layer True Qi Realm cultivator.
How far could he possibly go?
